Favourite beer
Sorry if it's already been done....
Due to being half polish I will nominate a lovely strong lager, TYSKiE. Cracking bev, if I had to chose a second it would be holsten pils, third place awarded to heineken
Your thoughts?

Re: Favourite beer
Don't tend to have favourites these days, pretty much try any type of Ale/Beer/Stout thats on tap. Don't drink lager anymore if I can help it, think I've had about 5 pints in about 3yrs.
Have a soft spot for anything coming out the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh though. Add in something along the lines of a Erdinger Weissbier or really any type of German Weissbier and I'm more than happy.

Re: Favourite beer
thatchers gold is a fantastic tipple.
Reminds me of Autumn Gold that Taunton cider used to make.
Lager wise, Cobra is most probably my fave although I like most.
Cant believe someone said tennants!

Can't drink beer as it doesn't agree with me.
My favourite lagers though would have to include Abbaye and Hoegaarden (Belgian) and Cobra (Indian - I think).

I actually used to love regular Coors as a student. Had a lovely smoky flavour - different to any other lager I've tried. Now I can only find Coors Light which is awful.
Aside from that I'm quite partial to Magners pear cider and Crabbies.

Problems I have with Coors is its technically a lager which I'm not a great lover of anyway these days and most importantly it tastes like water. I've never had a lager thats had so little to it its incredible how weak the consistency and taste is and the fact they had to make a light version baffles me.
Enjoy a cider during the summer though and either Magners or Crabbies among others are quite nice for a refreshing drink.

Re: Favourite beer
Lager wise I'm going off it all a bit, but generally speaking I will end up with a Budweiser or Amstel if I'm out.
Went to Belgium last year and got hooked on Trappist Ales and spent almost all my time drinking some sort of beer. Leffe, Duvel, Chimay, Hoegaarden, Fruli and Orval -- all beers from there I would recommend! There is a Dutch Bar I frequent in London purely because it is the only place I can find that do them all. Be warned that some of them are particularly strong in abv %...
Other than that, Newcastle Brown where I can find it.

Never tried it there Scott but would definitely give it a go if it did them all.
I usually go to De Hems in Soho, small place, but always a good night and just around the corner from all the extremely expensive clubs for later.

Re: Favourite beer
Carling, usually.
However, a cracking lager over in Bulgaria that I always over-indulge in when over there translates to shamensko or something similar (I can't type it due to the alphabet difference!). Lovely.

How does Burning Gold compare to normal Bombardier? Find the original a bit watery.

Morretti isn't a bad Italian lager if you like Peroni.

I take it you've never tried the fizzy water they call Budweiser then? Hard to believe that stuff has ANY alcohol content.

Good man on the Brains SA, Gregers. Where did you discover it? It's really hard to find on tap since I moved over the border.
Also, is it true that the Amex imports (for want of a better word but can't think of the right one) the away team's local ales to sell on match day? Awesome idea if true.

I'm not the biggest lager drinker these days anyway and if I had to drink one it wouldn't be Bud but even that doesn't come close to how bad Coors is for having nothing to it.

Where about do you visit, Mr Bryn's Attitude? I have been known to try a zagorka and kamenitsa, though I'd say shamensko was my favourite. Bear's blood...sounds ominously impressive.

until this year i stayed in a village called kamenar,it's about 5 miles inland from the resort of pomorie,(i owned a house in kamenar which i recently sold) so this year i booked a cheap holiday in sunny beach, but still spent a few days in kamenar with freinds, village life is the real bulgaria.
