Re: Tuesday's Auction
Well, I wouldn't have put money on Shaid "Trevor Francis" Afridi being the first million pound man!

Re: Tuesday's Auction
1 million for Afridi? What's going on? I'm cunningly biding my time in the auctions, so that at the end of the weak everyone's money's gone and I can snap up a few bargains, muhahahaha!

Re: Tuesday's Auction
I rate his leg-spin bowling very highly in the shorter format, and likewise his batting is incredibly destructive, particularly on flat slow wickets.

Re: Tuesday's Auction
yeah his bowling's very good, but can't remember the last time he really scored any runs. Don't get me wrong, he's a fine player, but can't see him being worth over 1 million!

Brilliant!
Re: Tuesday's Auction
Ouch, 1.2 million he is all yours, Liam.
Did well in getting you to spend all your money, didn't I?
Just joking, I did actually want him, but he does have a tendency to get out for next to nothing far too often, and as such...I'm Out.

Re: Tuesday's Auction
It may seem like a waste of money but I don't need many more players and Afridi I really wanted
Re: Tuesday's Auction
good grief I go away for a few minutes and my target Roy is now rated at 350k, I'll leave you guys to that one I think...

Re: Tuesday's Auction
Roy is not going higher than 350k from my wallet. I need a hitter, but there is another lad later on the week who will do better for me than Roy.

Re: Tuesday's Auction
I'll probably have a look at him, if it doesn't go too high, but a lot depends on what happens in the next couple of days for me...

Re: Tuesday's Auction
Ah well, I rate Buttler higher than Roy so I would happily go higher, but maybe not above 500k for Jos.

Re: Tuesday's Auction
Wasim Jaffer doesn't even stand out in the Birmingham Premier League which is only a few divisions above what I play! Can I be in the Auction then?

Re: Tuesday's Auction
My last signing was going to be Iqbal or Afridi, as I wanted an explosive opener.
Afridi brings a bit more to the table I think due to the bowling option, and given that this league is in the sub-continent his batting will be very effective, given the slow, low tracks.

I think Iqbal's gonna fetch a lot of money tomorrow...

surprised no one's gone for Davies or Yardy, and that Bishoo's so low down...

Re: Tuesday's Auction
Just looked at Bishoo, if I didn't already have my spin options covered I'd definitely be in for him, has a fantastic t20 record.
