WTF were Carr and Nacewa doing for that chip into the corner earlier? I'd rather they crashed into each other because they both called it rather than both standing off waiting for someone to take charge. Silly.

We're bloody awful, I don't know who the Os left wing is but he looks like a mobile wardrobe and there's no way he should be taking us to the cleaners... but oh, there we go, well in for their second try.
All defense from Leinster, where's the attack and flair? It's like watching Brazil in their own half for 90 minutes.

O's defence has been class. But Jono Gibbs is going to go through them for this toothless display at the breakdown. Hagan has been good though.

Re: Ospreys v Leinster 02/09/11
Unreal. Expected that backrow to dominate. They have been shafted at the breakdown. O's defence has been superb. Team has been superb. They were very sharp all over the field. Well done O's.
Schmidt will eat them after this perfomance. So many unforced errors. Lots to work on. Starting like last year. Ah well, we'll make the Final as per. And lose it.
Ned 7 San Marino 0. Should be 10 or 11. Its been exhibition football from the best side in the World. Kinderspel.

Ospreys back-row did a lot better than I thought. Leinster looked good, on the the team-sheet...

Re: Ospreys v Leinster 02/09/11
27 - 3 FT score.
Just got back from watching it in the pub.
The biggest worry for Leinster i feel is the lack of protection they had at the breakdown, especially in the 1st half. They just couldn't keep hold of the ball at all. O's were very good first half.
Great defensive display from the O's 2nd half as well when Leinster really put them under pressure, but even down to 14 men they didn't concede points so they've got to be happy with that, but perhaps disappointed they didn't get a bonus point win. Credit to Leinster's defence there.
A very good win for the young O's though

Bit surprised how flat the atmosphere was for the opening game of the season. I'd have been buzzing personally. Good first half, poor second half.

I missed the second half.
Obviously I didnt miss much since there was no score, im suprised because the O's were all over them in the 1st half.

The second half was a bit flat, and the O's got a bleedin' yellow. There's a surprise! Still, they did well not to concede any points during the binning.

Re: Ospreys v Leinster 02/09/11
"Nowt wrong with fussell."
He's constantly out of position when defending from full back, he can't catch a high ball, he's slow, he runs into contact like a flanker instead of away from it(then gets smashed), he makes mistakes under pressure, he can't create tries but only finish them after some good play by the team or opposition mistakes. Exactly the same at the Dragons hence why he found himself down the pecking order in the latter half of his last season with them. Just highlighting the things that I think are wrong with him.

Re: Ospreys v Leinster 02/09/11
Just got back from the Liberty stadium we had a great night. The referee was lucky he didn't get lynched though. For the first 10-15 minutes of the second half, he ignored every error Leinster made and did everything he could short of awarding a penalty try to let Leinster back into the game. Some of the decision he gave were disguisting. I actually thought some fans were going to jump the fence at one point. Luckily for everyone the ref started to balance the game out and not be so biased when he realised Leinster weren't going to breach the Ospreys defence.
Aside from an Irish ref giving nearly everything to Leinster though, I thought the Ospreys were fantastic tonight. It was great to see the fans getting behind Dan Biggar the abuse he recieved during the Russia game was awful, but tonight the fans were right behind him.
Duncan Jones and Ian Evans have been superb for the last couple of games, don't be suprised if both are in the Wales squad come the 6 Nations.
Hanno Dirksen on the left wing is looking more capable with each game and developing really well, his defence is excellent as is his vision and reading of game situations.
The most important thing to come out of tonight, is that the fans seem to have forgiven the Ospreys for the shambles at the end of last season, and seem to be getting behind the team again.
On a side note I met Joe Bearman today, during the car park party, and he gave my brother in laws and myself one of those "try" Rabodirect banner things. Nice guy too

Alyn - glad you had a good night. I watched it in a pub. I thought the ref was missing far too many errors - mainly knock ons made by both sides to be honest. I don't know if he genuinely had a poor view of things or what, but he didn't seem to have a good game. I was a little frustrated that they didn;t get the BP but there we are. Also miffed they got their first yellow already - doh!

Thanks Cari
We're pretty much level on the half way line and about 6 rows back, slightly elevanted, and we have a fantastic view. The Leinster hooker was throwing crooked and getting away with it all night to be honest. I wont say the referee was terrible all game, but in the first 10-15 minutes of the second half, he was really helping Leinster to try and get them into the game, ignoring their faults and picking up on anything he could to ping the Ospreys. when your winning 27-3 the crowd should be happy, but there was a lot of anger, and frustration amongst the fans at how blatant the referee was being.
To be honest I thought we going to put a cricket score on Leinster in the second half because they simply werent at the races, I think everyone at the stadium was shocked at how inept they were. I think the Ospreys just wanted to get through the second half without getting injured and went out to run the clock down. Aside from amazing defence I cant think of much the Ospreys did.

Far too harsh. He is good under the high ball.He tackles above his weight. He looks to counter-attack.He makes ground and is whole-hearted(a carry-over from his Dragons days).Gawd knows why the O's wanted him and keep playing him?You must have a word,Nottins.nottins_jones wrote:"Nowt wrong with fussell."

Re: Ospreys v Leinster 02/09/11
Alyn- I thought the ref was fairly poor for both teams, ospreys were offside for the whole match, but unfortunately it is to be expected with fitzgibbon.
Very dissappointed with the leinster backrow and berquist. I'd give berquist a bit of time to settle in and he has the excuse of having to play outside of cooney who hasn't improved from last year's u20s were he was terrible as well.
Leinster fans won't be too bothered by this result anyway, they tend to start the season slowly and are missing a player or two.

It's another debate in itself (Fussell), although it seems you have nothing to offer apart from disagreeing. The Ospreys kept playing Vaughton and Griffiths for a while, surely this also makes them superstars in your eyes?

If you talk rubbish I must disagree with you.Does not being rubbish make someone a superstar?.Shades of grey not just black and white.Think on this and the world may become a better place for you.No charge.
