Gimmick v Gimmick Empty Gimmick v Gimmick

Post by Shot 21 LCFC Mon 05 Sep 2011, 6:36 pm

I just wanted to see which people preferred which gimmick or character of the same wrestler. I will list them below and you just reply with which one you preferred (and why if you want). You can also post your own if I miss any. Anyway here goes:

Kevin Nash or Diesel

X Pac or 123 Kid

Triple H or Hunter Hearst Helmsley

The Rock or Rocky Mavia

Rikishi or The Sultan

Scott Hall or Razor Ramon

The Undertaker (phenom) or The Undertaker (American bad ass)

Bradshaw or JBL

Cody Rhodes (dashing) or Cody Rhodes (deranged)

K Kwik or R Truth

I know some of these will be obvious, but pick em anyway!

Cool. I pretty much agree with all of them except 2. I have always preferred the phenom (although the bad ass was still cool!!), and - this one will probably shock people - I actually prefer Bradshaw to JBL. He looked a lot tougher then and I always liked the APA.

I just dislike the lack of dimension the Phenom has. The American Bad Ass was a great gimmick and allowed Taker alot more freedom on the stick.

Anything with a shelf life of 20 years & counting could hardly be described as 'lacking dimension'.... It's the greatest gimmick in the history of professional wrestling

Which is why its went through so many different incarnations. I just thought the American Bad Ass gimmick was the more entertaining gimmick.

And if "Lights go out, gong sounds, purple light, slow ominous entrance" with some slight tweaks doesnt get old to you after 20 years then well played, you're a better man than I am.

No doubt the 'Hollywood' act was cooler but Immortal was probably more successful in terms of draw

I would say the Immortal Hulk Hogan was better than Hollywood, I was never a huge Hogan fan but from 85-88 could really buy into the ideals of his character
