England T20 Captain
With Broady out and Cook not part of the current T20 set up, who is going to be captain against the WIndies??! No Morgan, KP has already been there done that, Cook really SHOULDN'T play, no Colly either. As a temporary measure, as it's only a late season knockabout, why not give Swanny a go!

Re: England T20 Captain
I'd enjoy seeing Swanny as the captain! I imagine it'd be fun, but at the same time I imagine him taking it very seriously, as he always does once he is on the cricket field.
Might be a good shout...

Re: England T20 Captain
Cook is the obvious replacement, but he could open up a whole can of worms, if he scores big and quickly, as I'm sure it's a long conversation the Selectors had only 4/5 months ago! I can't see any other logical solution than Swanny and it would be a lot of fun..... he'd probably promote himself to open!

Re: England T20 Captain
i think swanny will do it, he laughs and jokes around but, on the field he is deadly serious, anyone that watches england a lot will know that. he hates misfields or when things go wrong, he is passionate about it.

Ha, wouldn't put it past him!
I think Cook does have it in him to score quickly in the T20 format, he showed glimpses of that against India in the rain affected ODI just the other week - but you make a very good point about the captaincy debate it could cause to occure, not sure the selectors would want that to take place!

Re: England T20 Captain
I don't think they'll want to give it to Cook, as if he's good enough to be in the T20 team and is ODI captain surely he should captain the T20 side as well (though from what I've seen of both, I actually rate Broad the better captain...). So yeah, assuming they'll give it to someone who's spot is guaranteed the options would seem to be:
Kieswetter - unlikely I'd have thought, don't think he's captaincy material.
KP - they won't go down that route again.
Bresnan - see Kieswetter.
Swann - probably the one they'll go with.
I think Swann could make a very good captain, he's a very thinking cricketer as you can see when he bowls, a bit in the Shane Warne mould (though I'm obviously not comparing the two - more like they both like to out-think batsmen)

Swanny will know it's only 'short-term' and will take it as so, but will LOVE it. The 'Swanny for England T20 Captain' bandwagon starts right here!

Amen to that, swafters!
By the way guys, don't forget to PM me your Question 1 answers for the Kent CCC signed shirt competition. Question 2 is to be posted in the thread.

Re: England T20 Captain
I think England will go with Cooky especially after his performance in the 23 over match. But wouldn't mind to see Swanny as captain.
Re: England T20 Captain
I am all aboard the Swafters "Swanny for T20 captain" campaign! In all seriousness though, if they are going to play an inexperienced team in these games e.g. Hales, Stokes, Buttler, Taylor, then who better to make them feel relaxed and at home than Swanny.

Re: England T20 Captain
Swanny as captain would be brilliant I hope England do make him skipper but realistically I think England will go with Cook.
Re: England T20 Captain
Swann isn't public school educated, so I doubt it will be him.

Haha, he did it! Now this is a previously 'dead' T20 that I am looking forward to seeing!
