Will Ryan Giggs ever score a goal...
...without everyone being bombarded by this shameless parade of over-used cliches? Clive Tyldesley has got to be the worst culprit for this:
'Giggsy roles back the years!'
'Ryan Giggs just doesn't get any older!'
'Ryan, when will you stop?!'
'Another season, another pearler from the Welsh wizard!'
and the worst of the lot.........................................................
'Much like a fine wine, Ryan Giggs just gets better with age!'

It was a fantastic goal, and coming from a player that is 37 and doesn't look out of places he deserves all plaudits coming his way. Be some of them incredibly cliched.

I wouldn't say they where all true, a 27 year old Giggs was betterr than a 37 year old GiggsygazzyD wrote:Nope because they're all true

Well it depends on what typle of goal it is. If it is a tap in, it probably wouldn't have been described like that but it wasn't. Giggs deserves all the praise and cliches he gets

He gets the plaudits because he deserves them. Fantastic goal, fantastic player, Manchester United legend.

Come off it - it is ridiculous.
Clive Tyldsley : "Oh my god - a man just scored a goal, a job he is paid to do, at the age of 37! THIRTY SEVEN WOULD YOU BELIEVE! He should have arthritis by now. Bloody hell - I simply cannot recall anyone over the age of 36 doing literally anything of value - ever. Knight him. Knight him now before he dies of old age!"
"THIRTY-SEVEN!"

There are plenty of 'old' guys who've scored some great goals over the years- Scholes, Roger Milla, Stanley Matthews, hell, even Dean Windass come to mind, but none of them have received this kind of OTT praise!

Scholesy did, Roger Milla did, don't you remember him in his last world cup, it's all they could talk about. Stanley Matthews era was far to "Mr Charles Charlie Charles" to talk about a gentleman’s age and in all fairness Dean Windass was as good at football as he is easy to comprehend, "ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh......Jeff".

Very true 'Small Time', he must've been brought up in a Chimpanzee enclosure, only they can understand him..

To be fair Milla was 40, 3 years older than Giggs is now, and he was playing in the biggest football tournament on Earth. As for Scholes, sure he got praised, I don't have a problem with that, but it was never as unneccesarily over the top and cliched as the praise that Giggs receives, something which I've never understood as Scholes, in my mind, has always been the better footballer (as well as being a better role model).

Look until we hear "Ryan, clearly you do it better than your brother" then lets give him the benefit of the doubt...
