NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
What are peoples opinions of the event as a whole?
i feel the event was pretty standard to be honest. had a high hopes for the main event of HHH/PUNK but was a big let down. i feel it did not need all the interferance and it just became chaotic. hhh and punk should of been left to it as they are good enough to make a main event on their own and was hoping this was the point when they would bring blood back but i was wrong!
maybe a rematch at hell in a cell between punk and hhh to stop any interferance?
anyway what are peoples thoughts on the event..............................

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
I gave up watching it live after the 4 way Ziggler/JMo/Riley/Swagger match.
Cannot believe that HIAC is 2 weeks off, that's pretty shocking build up time etc.
Does ADR now get worst push as title holder?
Cena now has 12 World Titles (aged 34)
Orton has 9 World Titles (aged 31)
Wonder how many those pair will end up with?

Absolute rubbish. One of the worst ppv's I have seen. WWE took a massive step backwards last night.

Having read the spoilers, I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch this one.
ADR needed the belt taken off of him -- he was losing ratings fast as champion, and Cena, rightly or wrongly, is the only man WWE can know will be able to carry the title right now.
Shocked but pleased that they pulled the trigger on Henry, who really deserves this. He proved to me before that he could be a convincing champion in ECW (yes, it was a little league compared) and I hope they continue to book him strong rather than defaulting to Randy Orton again.
HHH was always going to go over first off, and I think it was the right decision in reality. I don't think booking him as a face is how I would play it, but I think it's clear that Mr McMahon is still working with Laurinaitis and Nash...or someone of note is, at least...

WWE have ruined the surprise element of kicking out of finishers. The main event was lazy, short-sighted booking at it's utmost.
Plus they are now weakening MITB as nearly every champion coming from it is booked very very weakly. Ratings will continue to fall if they don't build new stars. Cena will not draw forever.

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
Like I said in a previous thread, Orton should have won weak last night. Didnt know HIAC was next, THATS when I would have had Henry win.
Missing that week harmed ADR big time. Its a shame, I thought he looked the part as WWE Champion.
Kx2 going over Beth is ridiculous, but hey, who cares in the end, right?
Good to see Air Boom retain, silly team, but Miz and Truth are bigger than the tag title atm.
Cody and Dolph retaining is a good thing. Was really looking forward to the 4-way, but couldng stay up.
How was HHH? Any ring rust or did Punk make him look good? I agree, Triple 8 as a face in this isnt really working for me, he needs to be heel for this fued to have any real steam. He NEEDS to be in cahoots with Nash, Laurinitissitautiairiisisitis and MacMahon (if he's involved).

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
I fully expect Orton to regain the title at HIAC, a 2 week title as reward for Henry before he retires and another notch on Orton's World Title record (would be his 10th).
Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
Having two belts and barely any credible main eventers sure is lucrative to some like Cena and Orton.
31 and holding 9 World Titles is ridiculous. 34 and having 12 is equally insane.

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
I am going to buck the trend and say I quite enjoyed it.
The main event was TNA at its best (no thats not a typo!).
A few botches by Air Boom and the highlight of the whole show (and WWE in general) continues to be Truth and Miz.
For a free to air PPV, it was better than average.
I was surprised to see Henry win so dominantly. The Christian/ sheamus angle was pointless to me.

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
Cena won his first World Title at Wrestlemania in 2005, so 12 titles in 6 years obviously means 2 a year. Is that really insane?
Irrespective of whether or not the main event was lazy booking and shoddy, what a rise to the top its been for CM Punk eh? This time last year the internet was up in arms at how he was being booked. A midcarder losing at every PPV, the IWC didnt like it one bit. Fast forward 12 months, CM Punk delivers one of the best promos ever seen, wins a 5 star match to win the WWE Title at MITB, main events Summerslam, and fueds with the COO and one of the biggest names in WWE history - Triple H.
I wonder why/how/what has changed for the WWE to finally recognize CM Punk as a main eventer?

It was free to air in this country but in the States they would have had to cough up £40 for that.

are they using Sterling in the US now - Obama really is thinking outside the box!
Here is a quote from another forum I frequent which summed up why I liked it!
No spoilers for Night Of Champions but having just watched it I will say it's surreal having watched TNA rip WWE off for years then watching WWE basically put on the most expensive TNA PPV in history last night. Is Vince Russo back in New York? One step forward three steps back last night.
Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
TNA Night of Champions was pretty good.
(What? It was a WWE show?! But the Main Event, so many run-in's and random chaos... I see...)
Pleased to see Mark Henry win but I thought Del Rio would at least make it to Hell in a Cell!

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
Yep I have to agree with the general consensus...very poor night all in all. The main event was going well until the chaos began, once that occured everything was just in limbo. I didnt get the point in it all to be frank unless it cost either of them the match...which realistically it didnt. I know Nash powerbombed Punk...but Punk had plenty of time to gather his senses whilst Triple H was seeing to Nash. Despite all the run-ins it was a relatively clean win for HHH so not sure where they go with this. Obviously the angle is there for a Nash/HHH feud (which im guessing like myself no-one wants to see).
My guess would be that its all being set up for some type of coup with Miz,Del Rio, Truth, Nash & Jonny Ace attempting to take control of RAW with Punk, Cena, HHH fighting them off....not quite sure how they get The Rock involved or who the 5th person on either team may be but guessing thats why we have the proposed 5v5 at Survivor series.
On a better note im glad with Smackdowns main event. Not the most exciting match to watch granted but it did cause the OMG moment of the night. Think everyone expected Orton to kick out after the 2nd Slam. Raw writers could do with looking how the smackdown writers are doing things. Henry has been built up fantastically and I think everyone knew he was a credible challenge (though few expected a win). I just hope they keep Henry running with it now...DO NOT PANIC & PUT THE STRAP STRAIGHT BACK ON ORTON IF HENRY DOESNT COME OUT TO A HUGE CRUSENDO OF BOO'S ON FRIDAY!!!! For me I would have Henry go over Orton again at Hell In Cell..then possibly begin a gradual heel turn with Orton culminating in him winning the strap back at SS (not sure how you could do it) but im thinking he will eventually go that way as i expect him to be feuding with Sheamus shortly and as we know he is now face.
Truth & Miz I enjoyed and im actually glad their being brought into the angle with Triple H; they both deserve more than Mid-Card and whilst they may not (yet) be a main feature in the big storyline they are around it enough to get people talking and to show everyone what they can do. Cant believe im going to say this but Kudos to the writers for this....
HOWEVER...back to same old when it comes to Mr 12 time champion ...Mr hustle, loyalty, respect..oh & in the build up to their match Mr 'I have integrity & honor..you dont'..yet im going to steal your car tonight (go figure?!?). Yep John Cena. Anyone who thinks he comes close to The Rock or basically in the top 5 in WWE right now for promos just watch him do his own intro last night & you will realise why he doesnt get close!! Again it was stale...cringeworthy stuff at its highest. Once more he was hit with everything but the kitchen sink (not that even that would put him down im sure) yet he locks in the STFU & its all over (mind you Del Rio gave a few more seconds fighting against it than poor old Miz). I understand the whole situation that Del Rio wasnt drawing & Cena is the go to guy. But seriously im just fed up of the lack of direction with the whole WWE Championship picture tbh. Never has a title been more de-valued than this ..I think all credibility has gone out of the window. In the past 18 months we have had 12 seperate title reigns..Cena winning the title 5 TIMES...and 6 of the title reigns have lasted less than 40 days! Unbelievable.
I like many dont think Cena needs the title...certainly not for Wrestlemania...however if your going to have him with it heading into mania then basically just keep the strap on him all the way there. These small meaningless reigns for possible up & comers are doing nothing..for neither the product or the likes of Del Rio etc.
All in all something drastic will now have to happen with the main storyline to ignite any kind of interest back into it. Its quickly going stale & losing momentum..and I fear in 12 months we will looking back in anger and disgust at how creative managed to drop the ball on one of the hottest storylines in the past decade! As a PPV i would score it a measly 2 out of 5..! For storyline endings/continuations & direction...well giving it .5/5 would be generous!!

Re: NOC - ********CONTAINS SPOILERS********
The issue with ADR as champion is that he was defending against John Cena. Cena polarises opinion so much that the heel (ADR) gets cheered by half the crowd! It is a shame that Edge retired or that they didn't keep ADR on SD because had he been there I think he could have developed into a legitimate main evener instead of going up against heel career suicide in Cena.

Thats a good point Josh. Its hard to be recognized as a good heel when half the crowd cheer for you just because you're fighting Cena.

John Cena cancer of pro wrestling.
How can invest in my time in any feud(bar punk) which cena is involved when he doesn't put over the heel and always takes the strap?
Cena has buried so many heels its untrue.
Personal I thought it was an ok ppv,the main event was a joke.

Creative screwed up a couple of times here; Beth should have had a hometown victory, Del rio should not have dropped the title so soon and the main event was a bit chaotic to say the least.
Other than that the wrestling was good, in my opinion. Favourite spot had to be Punk's Savage elbow through the table.
Also Henry was scary last night, he is perhaps the best monster heel i've seen in years, so glad he got the belt and went over clean. Hopefully the Hell in the Cell match will be brutal

I wouldn't mind a long reign for Henry and I mean 3-6 month reign. At the same time have a babyface slowly getting momentum, then when Henry has dominated everyone(by this time you'll be peeved that Henry has the belt)the said uprising babyface beats Henry clean at one if the big ppv's. Thus creating a legitimate main eventer!
With John Cena I simply give up.

Sheamus? I know he's already a former Champion but he's not a legitimate main eventer yet.
Sad thing is, if Orton doesn't win it back, it'll be a returning Big Show.

Wow. I watched it last night and thought it was brilliant! I completely marked out when Mark Henry won the belt as I never thought they would give it him. He pinned Randy Orton clean as well!! And you gotta say, the promo he delivered at the end of the match was good. Spoke with real passion. I hope he defeats Orton in the rematch.
I really enjoyed the main event. Yes it was chaotic but I was glued to the screen. And it leaves a lot of questions meaning I have to watch Raw to find out where they ore going with this. How will John Laurinitis fit in? What about R Truth and The Miz? Willl Kevin Nash be re-instated? BTW I havent watched it yet so dont tell me lol!!!

I enjoyed NOC too. Like Adam said, the main event was different because WWE haven't done it for a long time. And the interferences made sense.

I enjoyed the interferences in the main event, I only remarked to my Dad that Truth and Miz should get involved and there they were!! The only inconsistency was Truth stopping Punk pinning Trips when 2 minutes earlier he had wanted Punk to win. I was okay with Punk losing that way, it made sense. Totally loved his t-shirt. very cute
Kelly Kelly winning again was pathetic. Beth is awesome and it would have been lovely for her to win in her home town. Don't really know where they are going with this storyline now......maybe Nattie will get a go?
Cena winning, yet again, was predictable. Shame for Alberto as it does nothing for his career.
Not happy about Mark Henry winning at all, I understand the logic but it sucked.

I see the whole Diva situation differently, I think Beth and Natalya will totally dominate however they need to make the most over face credible, after that I think both will be so dominant and it will be the bridge that leads to Karma returning, Flawless are also reportedly making a return so that is also a possibility for Natalya and Beth to feud with before Karma gets back, theres more to this than just making Kelly Kelly look like John Cens, of that I'm certain

An interesting assessment and one I had not thought of myself. It will be interesting to see if either McCool or Kharma return and when this is.
It would certainly make the division more competitive though.

The thing about Kharma though, is that when she returns most of us will have probably forgotten about her, and so her unexpected return might make us pay a bit more attention to the Diva's division.
