Q&A with George Foreman? - Page 2 Empty Q&A with George Foreman?

Post by Fists of Fury Tue 20 Sep 2011, 9:27 am

First topic message reminder :

Morning all

George Foreman has agreed to a Q&A with us (though judging by his intermittent use of Twitter it may take god knows how long to be returned), however I feel it's worth getting some questions across on the off chance that he finds time to answer them.

Let's try and get some interesting questions together that we can send across to George, because I'm sure you'll agree that it'd be another nice coup for the forum if we can pull this one off.

The questions that some of you provided for Joe Frazier are with his people at the moment, and will be answered in due course, I'm told.

Thanks.

I saw in a documentary that you didn't know your real, biological father as a child. Did you see Sonny Liston as a father figure of sorts?

I remember watching some of your previous fights, very pixelated footage where you would eat handburgers during the breaks from each round.

Do you feel you would have been better prepared had the lean mean fat grilling machine been on the market at this stage of your career?

Damn me and my poor proof reading!

Maybe that question should be scrapped.

If you hadn't put your name to the LMFRGM, what would you have put it to?

It is well known that after your fight with Jimmy Young, you had a very intense religious experience. Had you any inkling before the fight that something as life-changing was happening to you, and if not, why do you believe that you performed so relatively poorly against a man whom you were expected to beat comfortably?

I would guess so mate, yes.

Thanks for answering my question George, I didn't know you were a member of the boards...

Very Happy

Sorry mate. I just thought your question had such an obvious answer that you could have asked anyone and didn't need to reserve it for Big George.

Maybe if the first 'has been' had been 'can be' it wouldn't have elicited my flippant response, although I do apologise for being a bit quick to make fun of what I took as a mistake on your part.

In light of this being a potentially massive coup for 606v2, I'll stop being silly on this thread. Apologies again to you School Project (do some more art!) and also to everyone else who was taking it seriously.

Ok, 5 questions for George...

Have you read Norman Mailer's 'The Fight'? If so, what did you think?

If you could have chosen to be in your prime in any decade, which one would you have chosen?

You're a religious man. Who is the pound for pound number 1 up in heaven right now? And who is the pound for pound number 1 down in hell?

George,

Please explain what glasses you used when scoring the Haye vs Klit fight?

If you were to discover your son is only going to be a gatekeeper or less in boxing would you rather he retire?

Pre-fight, were you aware of any boxers being bribed to throw fights against you?
