Murray's 'strike' talk.

Have to agree with the 1977 AO finalist on this; the disrespect shown by Murray towards the sport just further enhances his bad attitude. It's totally selfish to even consider such action when there are players in futures tournaments barely making enough money to survive; if anything it should be those such players considering a strike rather than the wealthy number 4 in the world. Murray has absolutely zero reasons to even think about rebelling against the sport, to put this into context, it would be like Somali pirates striking against unsecured, gold infested, cruise liners. It doesn't make sense.
Murray should apologise to the ATP!

The Players Council should have presented a unified front rather than this piecemeal, bedraggled response where each individual player makes a statement which has room for (mis)interpretation.

Very glad with his clarification. The Players Council is the right place for this discussion, not in the media. Once the discussions are complete media can publish the minutiae.

But none was needed. Except that is to the gullible who read the 'highlights' and not the whole story. He stated then, that it needed discussing amongst the player and only when pressed did he answer questions about strike action
One of his best comment, is that about the balls - a very valid discussion point

Re: Murray's 'strike' talk.
Well, its down to the organisers to pick a ball out of the choice given by the ITF that are applicable to each surface.
but yes, it would stop events being able to change the playing characteristics of an event to such a degree that it becomes difficult to play or it benefits certain players over others.
there should be less choice and a balance to those choices provided for each event, their surface and altitude and prevailing weather conditions.
that may even the playing field a bit more.

Bumped for those of you who have forgotten to apologise to Andy Murray for casting aspersions.

Nadal Has No Sympathy For Murrays Strike Talk
Good that Murray has backpeddled on his hints to the media about possable strike action
"When I said it was a possibility, I didn't expect that to be such a massive issue. It's so far away from being at that level."
In future he should think a little or take advice before making comments that might become massive issues. Maybe he should take Nadals advice and only talk about things when he is more clear what he wants to say
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/15254089.stm
"There is something there, but I don't want to talk about it, especially when nothing is clear. Not talking is better than talking.
Hopefully a lesson learnt.

Its good that Murray has backpeddled. Credit to him for that. But I Don't think an apology is required.

I thought my article was more about the aftermath of Murray's strike talk. It has nothing to do with Lloyd. This subject has proved interesting to many posters and maybe needed updating.
Maybe a third article wasn't needed. (Sorry bogbrush - did think it was good responce though)

It also nice to see so many of you backpeddle on your own gaffs.

Re: Murray's 'strike' talk.
It is good to hear that the players have not been putting tennis at risk, we can't have a situation in tennis that is similar to NBA, EPL, La Liga etc etc.Its good that Murray has backpeddled. Credit to him for that. But I Don't think an apology is required.
