Shows what a difference a goal kicker makes. Munster not that impressive so far, but Blues have basically made a lot of mistakes when they've had the ball. They were unlucky with the two TMO calls, so nearly tries, that would have changed the game.

Blues have been dominant in play, but it's just not reflected in the score. No wonder they're frustrated.

You know what they say- no points for nearly scoring. Munster deserve this lead. They've defended well and, crucially, they have a quality goalkicker. They are rather lucky neither of those chances that were referred to the TMO were tries.

I think Cardiff have been robbed so far two 50/50 the TMO must be wearing a Munster shirt

It is hard to believe the scoreline. It certainly doesn't reflect the game. Munster must have taken points every time they've been in Cardiff's half.

Re: Cardiff Blues v Munster 14 wins on the bounch
Were those commentators correct?
Is the ruck over as soon as the scrum half's hands touch the ball?
Or does he have to actually pick it up?

Nah bath the TMO was correct on those calls. Munster are certainly getting the 50/50 call from the ref though who, Notch correct me if I'm wrong, is an Ulster man .

Bath - I think the TMO decisions were correct, although the referee has made some very odd calls.

MrsP - I was always under the impression that as soon as you touched the ball it was out, you don't have to pick it up at all. I might very well be wrong though! (probably am )

Re: Cardiff Blues v Munster 14 wins on the bounch
Referee tells the blues players that the next time a player speaks to him out of turn, it's a yellow card. Absolutely right. The refs decision is final. Cardiff need to sort themselves out.
Commentators sounded like fools just then talking about the penalty count (which is even) and complaining that nothing was said to Munster. Cardiff aren't being warned for indiscipline they are being warned for dissension.

I don't think it helps that the referee missed a Munster knock on there though...

Referees miss things. Doesn't give you the right to talk out of turn. Tito has shouted at the ref and questioned his decisions. That's disrespectful. Other players have spoken to the referee out of turn- only the Captain is meant to talk to the ref.
I applaud him for coming down hard on it. That's part of his job. As the commentators pointed out earlier, the penalty count has been roughly even.

To be fair Notch the referee has been poor. He better not be thinking of showing his face round Cardiff tonight....

Blimey 13-3 I think for Dragons against Connacht (could be 10-3, Phil Steele has confused me some what) that's a bit of a surprise.

I agree, but that doesn't give the players the right to berate him

I never said they had the right to talk out of turn to the referee and to be fair, the players said nothing about the missed knock on. Just makes him look a bit one-eyed under the circumstances which undermines Munster's performance.

Feck your man Laulala is huge! Why was he not starting? He was Cardiffs best player by miles last week at Ravenhill.

No it doesn't and no it doesn't. Cardiff are the ones whinging to the ref. Munster are just getting on with it- why should he talk to Munster about it if they aren';t doing anything wrong?
Munsters performance has nothing to do with the ref.

giving such a cynical penalty away, right under your sticks....how is that not a yellow? surely that's what they were brought in for??

God, these Welsh commentators are such whingers!
They'd be better hoping their team does the business instead of relying on handouts from the ref.

No way Notch! I want Munster to win but this is just embarassing. I feel really sorry for Cardiff beacuse the Ref is like a 16th man for Munster.

Re: Cardiff Blues v Munster 14 wins on the bounch
It could have easily been a yellow card. But how many of Munsters penalties have been in that area? Thats the first.
Commentators are now blaming the ref for the defeat. Utter nonsense. Cardiff haven't taken their chances. The referee didn't have a good game, but he didn;t score any points. If Cardiff had a goal kicker as accurate as Keatley they'd probably be right in this game.
Commentators not even trying to hide their bias now. Unbelievable. I think Munster have been much smarter in the penalties they have chosen to give away and ultimately much more clinical.

Re: Cardiff Blues v Munster 14 wins on the bounch
in that area of the pitch Notch it should be a straight yellow. Warnings aren't needed. That's why the cards were introduced to the game in the first place to stop things like that. Munster can count themselves incredibly fortunate they aren't down to 14.
Agree the commentators are sounding a bit ridiculous now, the Blues have had enough chances, just been incredibly unlucky with those two 50/50 calls. Thought the first one was a try, but the 2nd one not.

finally he shows a yellow.
Momentum all with Blues now, really hope they can score the try but not sure they'll manage it. Munster defence still looking pretty good.

oh your joking me!
forward pass, oh Blues, you silly silly Blues.
Wouldn't mind seeing a replay though, coz that would have been a lovely 2nd try for Cuthbert.
Missed chance for the Blues, they had the winning of this match, easily, and their discipline cost them. Again.

yeah just forward on the replay.
Really disappointed for the Blues, such a wasted opportunity for them, they really should have won this one. Well played Munster for kicking their points, but they really offered very little outside of that.
