Bidding page for National League players
First topic message reminder :
This is the page where bids will be made for players playing in England who have been released by there Premiership club or are playing outside the top flight.
Here is the clarification on these rules
1.The player must be playing in England when the bid is made.
2.If the player is playing outside of England but is EQ a bid can only be made during the foreign window but WILL NOT count against you bid allocation.
3.Bids must be present this way
'Club X' would like to bid '£x' for the player 'X' from Club 'x'.
I will monitor all bids and accept/reject them at 10pm the following day after they have been made
CURRENT BIDS
Sam Tomkins - Newcastle Falcons - £9.5m
Joel Tomkins - Newcastle Falcons -£5m

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Be disappointed to get in a bidding war after thinking I'd manage to sign him fairly from the correct page. People will have seen the posts so hardly doing it on an unknown page nobody knows anything about.

Who's decision is it? I have lost track of who is running what. Is it Driver, SJE or Chris?

I think this one rests with Driver....
I bid on the link from the homepage so just depends if that's a valid bid or not I guess.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
If we are bidding on Harrison then it will mean that quite a few players will need to be taken out of other people's academies as they have come from schools in NZ, Aus etc just like Harrison has for Saints in real life.
Bid £3m for him.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Didn't chris have this guy in his Academy ages ago???
I have Harden in my team who is an english qualified aussie.
What is the clear rule on this as i know its been done with other players
I get confused some times.
We should get legal advice on this game as it gets ruddy technical

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Harrison hadnt signed for a club, he came from a school and first professional contract was with Northampton. If Saints bought him from a club, or he had signed professional terms with another club then I wouldnt mind at all - but surely as he is an academy player for Saints in real life then that should be sufficient?
There are so many players from abroad and this has only come up because Harrison was mentioned in an article on the BBC before the WC - when he was already in the Saints academy...

If a player isn't in a proffesional set up then it's fair bidding from me.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
i he was already in the saints academy then he should be saints to register in the squad.
Otherwise we could get all kinds of retrospective poaching going on. we used to have the poaching of academies in the game when it started and it did not work at all.
EG i got Casson from quins academy and have a few other players who i picked up before the academy rules came in.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
He wasnt in Saints academy though. I bidded on him months ago (before he came to England) and was told to wait as he was EQ abroad. Chris has since added him to his squad knowing I was after him.
He claimed he had been with the Saints some time which I quickly disproved with some links. Chris privately offered to remove Harrison from his squad if it was proved he wasnt Saints academy originally (which I have already done) so its actually annoyed me some what he hasnt done so. Not the first time he has been slow to update his squad...

Chris randomly added him to his squad (shock) after declaring he should be bid on this way I seem to recall.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
When I wanted Mulchrone from Macclesfield who has played a few games for the Sale 'A' side (so they could have a look at him I presume)I was told I couldn't sign him although he was and never has been contracted to Sale or ever been in the Sale academy. I then had to pay SJE to sign him as he added him to his squad after I showed interest to him.
How is this Harrison thing different?

As far as I was aware Mulchrone was a Sale player though Steve having been in the Jets side and training with the Sale academy. I was told either bring him into my squad or risk losing him (by you if I remember rightly) so I did!

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Because Harrisson isnt Saints academy. He has come from New Zealand making him EQ abroad. Chris said this himself when I bidded for him originally (before he had come to England!) stopping me from signing him. If he had been Saints academy then Chris would have been very happy to point that out to me

Re: Bidding page for National League players
I remember Chris stating he needed to be bid on as EQ after he was brought into the county from NZ. He then randomly added to his squad

Re: Bidding page for National League players
He's been Saints academy for 8 months SJE, I didn;t know that he was in the academy then because I didnt have all the facts about Harrison, if I did I would have told you he was already in my team! And apologies for not knowing all the facts when you tried to sign him - he was already part of the Saints academy when you tried to sign him. I think the bid was rejected on fair grounds at the time too, as I'd have tried to sign him as well then.
He's never signed professional terms with anyone - he came straight from a school to the Saints Academy, and had apparently been signed up at least 6months before that for them as the school he went to was the same one that Dylan Hartley did. Saints have kept a strong link with them and will bring more players over to their academy as a result of that link.
All AP teams are signing up players like this, so if he wasn;t in my team would this then mean that we would go through each of the teams and take away players from abroad too? Another example is Billy Vunipola who is in Arry's academy, he came straight into the Wasps academey when he was originally playing for Bristol - that to me is a lot worse than Harrison issue...
Just think that this would open a can of worms - SJE, sincerly apologise for not having my facts right first time round - not doing it to screw anyone over, just that he's in the Saints academy in real life (can show match reports from the games he has played in etc). If there was a transfer fee invovled or signed pro terms elsewhere then happy to bid, but think that as he's in Saitns academy in real life he should be a Saints player in this game - if he'd signed for any other club I'd say the same thing.

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Replying here Steve as dont want to keep bumping the old thread unless neeeded
Because Harrison isnt Saints academy. He has come from New Zealand. He was ruled EQ abroad (by both Chris and Driver). Chris then decided to randomally add him to his squad which he was called on and was told he would need bidding on. Chris knew I would be in for him after talking privately and this has already been ruled on twice now so there has been fair warning

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Guys from what i can see , Harrison has been in the Saints academy a while and is there for a member of it. So by defination he is a Saints player. But to comply with this new rule listed below he must be bid on as EQ player playing abroad.
From now on any new academy players must be bid on rather than just added.
Academy rule will be under serious review over the next few weeks with an updated set to be released in time for next season

Re: Bidding page for National League players
Can you show me where he signed 8 months ago please Chris? Because from reports I've read he has only been with Saints since October deciding at the end of his season in New Zealand after an accident he was involved in back home. I've given you links to this privately already before Chris. Last time you told me 18 months as well and had no proof...

All academy so are you saying anyone can bid on my glos academy lads not currently listed??
Either way we can't start this immediately and should be given chance to people into our academies ???
Why Do we keep changing the rules ? This should be reviewed end of season not mid season

Pooly - I don't constantly cheat and I'm pretty hacked off how you can write that. Think that is really stupid thing to write.
I havent cheated on this at all, Harrison has been in Saints academy for ages - I put him in my academy when I found out he was a Saints player.
