First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Tactics Submission Page for Viva's Sexy Boys League

Please post your League match tactics with the format and title as below:

Gameweek 1. “YOUR TEAM IN CAPS” vs “opposition team”

Line-up:

Subs:

Captain:

Tactics:

Obviously your Lineup should include 11 players and 7 Subs.

Make sure you check your weeks Injuries as if any injured players are part of the starting 11 this will affect your team and effectively they will be starting with 10 players.

There are no restrictions on tactics but please try not to make them too long as we’d like to take into consideration managers have a minimum of four sets to read through on voting days.

Anyone who consistently Copy and Pastes tactics every week may find their teams results take a nose dive.

Arsenal v VALENCIA

Injuries-Jonas,Bruno Saltor,Hedwiges Maduro

So we are playing Arsenal again a team we took all the way to penalties in the cup. Last week lost the game though it was a very close game I feel we can do better. This is our penultimate game of the season so lets make the fans happy as they go home. We will be keeping the same team as last week. Apart from Albeda coming back in for the injured Maduro. I know this will be a tough game so if anything doesn’t go to plan don’t let your heads drop and keep on going.
Come on Valencia!

Team- 4-4-2

………………….......Gomes……………….
Valera…..Mangala.....Natali…Sapunaru
Duda….Pienaar……Albeda…Belluschi
……….Rodruiguez…Hoarou……..

Subs- Alves,Martins,Dealbert,Topal,Feghouli,Borges,Aduriz

Captain- Albeda
Vice Captain- Valera

General Tactics
Try to keep as attacking as possible but don't do anything stupid, If you need to defend do so! Listen for calls from team mates and from coaching team for instructions

Goalkeeper Tactics
Be vocal and organise your defence, make yourself look big and try to catch every ball you have the chance too. Use your agility to make good diving saves, but at all costs try and catch the ball and throw the ball or kick the ball out as quick as possible. If you have a struggle with no defenders being around get to the ball if in your area and kick it out into the stands if possible as this cuts out any threat from there strikers being able to get on the end of it and possibly scoring. DO NOT ASK FOR PASS BACKS, AS THESE CAN BE FATAL IF DONE INCORRECTLY.

Defence Tactics

Stay as Tight to your men at all times, don’t do anything stupid that will upset things by giving away penalties and possible sending offs. We can not do with suspensions at this late stage of the season. Also do anything you can to not concede goals, Goal line clearances will be a must try if Gomes is out of Position for any reason. Stay with your man at all times, if player gets round call for one of the team mates to run in and help out. If in doubt boot the ball out of play and don't try to do anything fancy. AGAIN DO NOT PASS BACK, IF NOTHING IS ON BOOT IT OUT OF PLAY OR UPFIELD, do not give the opposition a chance to latch onto a loose back pass, we really cannot afford it.
DON’T DO ANYTHING STUPID

Midfield Tactics
Play the ball in Downward pointing Triangles this is the quickest way to get down the pitch. Wide men are to use there pace to get round the opponents LB and RB, Cross the ball in as early as possible and as accurate as possible. DON’T DO ANYTHING STUPID!

Striker Tactics
Call for ball as early as you see a chance, if the strike partner is in a better position than yourself, play a short pass to them then make a run towards the nearest post to you, you never know a tap in may come your way if goalkeeper drops the ball. Try to get your heads onto crosses from the wingers.

Corners

Defending Corners
Pienaar and Belluschi will each stand on a post, Hoarou and Borges will stay the furthest up field with Hoarou waiting on the half way line and Rodriguez playing just on the edge of the centre circle in the attacking half of the pitch waiting to set up any counter attack. Man Marking in the box is to be used at all corners for the opposing team. Gomes if you can catch the ball shout for it and catch it, then play the ball upfield as quick as you can to one of the players in the attacking half.

Attacking Corners
Centre backs are to come up into the penalty area, with the left back and right back the left back on the half way line. Albeda is to stand on the edge of the area where if the ball comes out to him he is to take a shot or to get the ball back into the area quickly. A double bounce of the ball before it being placed will signal a crossed ball into the box, a single bounce will signal the ball going to the edge of the area

Corner Takers
Left- Duda
Right- Belluschi

Free Kicks and Penalties

Defensive Areas
Gomes will take all free kicks in defensive areas upto the half way line
Defenders watch for any miss kicks as these can be fatal if they leave players forward to attack. All other players head for the attacking half.

Attacking Areas
Pienaar will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Duda will take over.

Defending Free Kicks
We will use a 5 man wall to the opposite side the kick is being taken from on the side the free kick is being taken from will be a smaller 2 man wall which will also be positioned slightly further back , these walls will be made up of, the 4 defenders and the right Midfielder and the two central defenders. This Leaves us Duda who will stand on the edge of the Centre Circle on our defensive half, and the two strikers, who will stand just inside the centre circle. This is so if a break away is on we have the chance to make something of it.

Penalty Taker
Rodruiguez

When we take penalties all 4 defenders are to move to the half way line with the rest of the team standing on the edge of the box. Be careful not to encroach into the box

Subs If Winning
65mins- Off-Duda On- Topal- this gives us a bit more of a defensive bite in midfield
80mins- Off- Rodriguez On-Martins- Change to 5-4-1 Formation, with Valera moving to a more central position

Subs if Loseing
65mins- Off- Pienaar On- Borges- Change to 4-3-3 Formation

SCHALKE vs psg tactics

Line-up:
--------------Fahrmann--------------------
Uchida--Howedes(C)--Demichelis--Fuchs-----
-----------Witsel--------Tőzsér------------
Shaqiri---------------------------Bannan----
-----------Bojan----------------------------
-------------------Yilmaz-------------------

Subs: Subs: Lars Unnerstall(GK), Christoph Metzelder (CB), Tim Hoogland (RB), Khouma Babacar (ST) , Jan Moravek (AM) , Jermaine Jones (DM) , Alexander Baumjohann (AM)

Captain: Howedes
Free-kicks and corners: Fuchs
Penalties: Shaqiri

Injuries:
Levan Kenia
Charlie Adam
Michael Owen

Tactics:

Overview: After a good win last week we come up against the team directly above us in the table (I think, the table hasn't been updated). If we beat them, we can pull away from the rest and close the gap on them, which is why I want you to attack today.

Goalkeeper: Do you need tactics? Catch the ball if possible but always play "safety first". Look to start off counter attacks when possible but if it's too risky hoof the ball down the park.

Full backs (Uchida and Fuchs): I want you to attack when possible but only when possible. Do not leave the centre backs exposed. Work with the wingers as per usual. Fuchs, you're in charge of free-kicks so as soon as you take them I want you to retreat back into the defence.

Centre-backs (Howedes and Demichelis): You are both very strong so use that to your advantage. Don't let the strikers force you to foul them. Come up for corners but remember, defending is your number 1 priority.

Wingers (Shaqiri and Bannan): Attack the centrebacks by cutting inside and outside and then shoot. Alternatively, attack the wngers and cross the ball into Yilmaz for him to either head home or knock down to Bojan.

Centre-mids (Tőzsér and Witsel): No Adam today so I'll look to you both to do his job. Keep the ball on the ground and pass to the wingers and Bojan for them to run at the defence. Alternatively, lump the ball upfield to Yilmaz so he can bring it down and have a shot. Don't be afraid to go forward either but remember to cover the defence from time to time.

Forwards (Bojan and Yilmaz): Bojan, play on the shoulder of the defence in a Javier Hernandez-style role. Run at the defenders or find the wingers and move into a better position. Yilmaz, use your size to cause trouble in the defence. You are the main target at corners and when the long ball is played by the centre-mids, bring it down and either have a shot or play it to Bojan.

Subs: Babacar for Yilmaz and Moravek for Shaqiri (70)
Jones for Tőzsér (80)

ROMA TACTICS VS EVERTON

Stekelenburg
Gonul------Kjaer------Juan------Radu
Montolivo
Lamela------De Rossi
Marin-------------------------------Downing
Osvaldo

Subs
Lobont
Burdisso
Ramsey
Hernandez
Lucas
Dzagoev
Podolski

Injured players
Mathieu Valbuena
Diego Milito
Younes Kaboul

Freekick 28 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 27 yards or less: Downing/Montolivo
Corner right: Downing
Corner left: Marin
Penalty: De Rossi
Corners: Big players go up and big players mark thier big players when defending corners.

GENERAL: We are at home against Everton a team who we beat earlier on this season and I am expecting the same. Everton have sold thier two best players and brought in weaker replacements I know they have a couple of new defenders coming in who need to gel so we will look to expose that. When on the attack I always want my players moving never static.

Stekelenburg, use your size and frame to make the goal look smaller, stand up as long as you can. Any shots that you can not hold on to please push them away from danger so the opposition can not follow up. Always talk to the defenders let them know what is around them. When the opposition put balls into the box if you know you can claim them let the defenders know if you feel that you can't claim them but defenders may not get there punch it away but always let everyone know that you are going.

Gonul main objective is too defend, watch the ball not the feet, do not dive in I want you to jockey the winger, force him onto his weaker foot or make him go backwards, always keep a line with the other back four. When going forward make runs past our winger to create space and put in earlier crosses for Osvaldo. When Radu attacks you will stay back.

Juan will pick up thier main striker, I feel he has the physical attributes with his pace and strength to deal with the striker. When he gets the ball don't rush in but position yourself in a way where he has to use his weaker foot, try to cut down the options he has to pass. Don't leave a big gap between yourself and Kjaer.

Kjaer will pick up any other striker or AM, use your reading of the game to stop the danger, think a few steps ahead get yourself where you can intercept the ball, jockey don't make rash tackles you have the experince to shepard them away. At times use your passing ability to get us on the attack quickly.

Radu main objective is too defend, watch the ball not the feet, do not dive in I want you to jockey the winger, force him onto his weaker foot or make him go backwards, always keep a line with the other back four. When going forward make runs past our winger to create space and put in earlier crosses for Osvaldo. When Gonul attacks you will stay back.

Montolivo has the role of deep playmaker, I want him to dictate the game, slow it down quicken it up when he has to. Look for our wingers making runs behind thier FB also look to make passes through the centre. If there is no options pass it around we want possesion and you are the key. When defending stand your ground you don't need to put a tackle in just watch your man and starve him off options.

De Rossi will be box to box but his main objective is helping Montolivo defend. When defending I want you to be more aggresive then Monty but not near out own box, put tackles in, close them down, don't give them time on the ball harrass them. When going forward drive forward with the ball, make a pass and continue your run into the box like Yaya Toure does. Support the attack and defence but always pick your moments when you do be sensible if we have enough forward stay back and vice versa.

Lamela is the most attacking of my trio, he will look to get beyond Osvaldo and into the box when you have the ball run at them and slip in our wingers or pass to Osvaldo and continue your run. If you can get at the defence run at them they have new players get to gel and I want you to take advantage. When we are defending put pressure on thier DM the guys who start the passes stop them and it will reduce thier chances of attacking.

Downing I want you to use the width of the pitch, play more as a traditional winger get crosses in for our attackers, vary your crossing, near/far post, cross shot, swingers, floaters always keep the opposition guessing. You don't always have to beat your man just put the cross in. Radu will support you at times when attacking so be aware of him and always follow thier FB when we don't have the ball.

Marin I want you to cut it and get inside the fullback, look to carve them open playing in dangerous passes to late runners like De Rossi or even shoot yourself. But also use width too if you can't come in and get crosses in. You have good dribbling skills so use them and run at your man. Be aware of Radu making runs and play him if you can. Always help our FB when we are defending follow thier FB.

Osvaldo nothing fancy from you, knock the ball on if you can for Lamela or anyone making runs past you. Don't hold the ball for too long when you get it always look to pass it and go forward, don't stay static always stay on the move. When in the box be aware that our FB will put in early crosses for you. Make runs behind thier CB and take your chances.

SUB 65 MIN
Downing off Hernanez on (Fresh legs)

75 MIN IF LOSING
Lamela off Podolski on (We play 4-4-2)

75 MIN IF WINNING
Lamela off Ramsey on (Energy, bite and passing into midfield)

83 MIN IF LOSING
Montolivo off Dzagoev on (More attacking creativity in centre of pitch)

83 MIN IF WINNING
Montolivo off Lucas on (A more defensive minded player who tackles)

Team Talk
We're two wins away from the league title after last weeks victory against AS Roma , We need to keep this push up and dominate the opposition lets get out their and show them why we're the best in this league!

General Tactics
Keep the pressure on their midfield and play at a high tempo

Szczęsny
I want you to be aware of the ball in behind the defence so always come to claim that , at corners come off the line and claim it as Valencia aren't a tall side.

Sagna :
Today is about using the explosive pace in our side has so i want you to go forward overlapping the wingers and putting the ball on the penalty spot for rvp or Yoann coming through the middle.

Vermaelen + Vertonghen

I want you to play a high line today as their not blessed with pace throughout the side, you will be backed up by Fernando incase they do get in behind so always go to the man and he will fill the gap, this will help pressure in the midfield as their have to boot it up field where the keeper will claim it and start our attacks

Tremoulinas: As i said to Bacary i want you to overlap the wingers due to their lack of pace so to keep them not sure where their going occasionally cut inside the full back for Jose can go outside him.

Wilshere + Fernando
Jack will play as the ball spreader so you will sit in midfield finding little pockets of space inbetween the midfield and lay it out wide or into gourcuff, I want to see you occasionally go past yoann so he has a 4th option to keep their defence on their toes. Fernando i want you to sit infront of the Defence so you behind a 3 CB as the defence will be pushing high up the field, If Vermaelen or Vertonghen are out of place fill the gap, your midfield duty will be just to break up plays and hunt down players to force them into mistakes.

Jurado + Gervinho
I want you both to take on the full backs with your pace and trickery , 1st time balls into the box should help Van Persie get on the end of them as he should be able to out sprint the defence, If the box is packed take on the full back go past him and square it back to the centre spot. always look out for the full backs coming past you on the outside, if they go outside it gives you a chance to cut inside and play a intricate pass through the defence for a on rushing rvp or gourcuff , always track back with their full back if they go forwards otherwise pressure the midfield

Gourcuff
Today i want you to drift inbetween their defence and midfield so it creates a gap for a late running wilshere, If they decide not to pick you up then i want you to play balls in behind the defence for the wingers to run onto, RVP will also run if behind but if he takes the defence with him have a go from 20 yards, If they have the possesion always fill into midfield and stop them from playing.

Van Persie
Today your going to play the poacher role where you make the runs in behind to create space for others but always get in position to finish it, I want you to drop into midfield on occasions to pull the defence out of place so yoann can run though.if they don't come with you take them on with trickery,

SUBS

If winning : Take gourcuff off for Djourou and go 5-4-1

If drawing : take Fernando off and put Saviola on and go 4-1-3-2

if losing : Take Fernando + Gervinho off for Saviola + Gignac go 3 up top

Team Talk

Another victory last week lads, great stuff, with 2 Games left we need a bit of luck (results going our way) for champions league qualification, So Lets make sure we create the luck by doing our bit and winning our next 2 games starting with Shalke, I expect Shalke to line up with a back 4, midfield 4, player in the hole and 1 striker upfront.

General Instructions

Today i will be as always looking to keep things tight, We will play a high tempo pressing game, if Shalke play a player in the hole only matuidi will be excused from pressing as he will be man marking this player. When the ball is won back high up the pitch, break quickly exposing the space the player you have just dispossessed and then the space left by the player who has come to close you down. When we have to build an attack keep the ball playing for the opportunities to set the wingers free in the space behind the full back.

Individual Instructions

Mcgregor - Work closely with your defence to keep the 18 yard a safe haven, Communicate and concentrate for the full 90 mins, claim crosses within 10 yards of goal line.

Debuchy - Last week bannan played on the wing, he does not have great pace, so is not able to outpace you, do not dive in and allow him this opportunity, make sure you close him down and force him onto right foot, were he will have to play the ball inside.

Matheu - Keep a tight line with defence and do not allow space behind you, as with debuchy show the winger onto bad foot and force the play to come back into the midfield The midfield is packed and with our pressing game they will have no time to play the passes they need to attack effectivly

Sakho & skrtel - Sakho you are our captain and defensive leader, make sure defense keeps tight line, As i have stated i expect 1 striker so you will sweep but if they do play two strikers mark the second striker, skrtel you have to mark the main striker. make sure that the striker/s are alway under pressure and have to play the ball back into the crowded midfield, stay goal side and do not get turned

Matuidi - If they play a midfielder in the hole you have to man mark, make sure he is never available for a pass, this leaves the striker isolated and means that the service he receves is innefectual. if they Do not have a player in the hole, sit and protect the back four

Song - you will play as the defensive midfielder of the two in the centre, only break when you dispose the midfielder through our pressing game, and the the quick attack is on, when is pssesion p;lay passing game to spring wingers

hernanes - I need you to be more disciplined today pressing and harrowing in midfield but when we are in attack you can go, play a passing game to spring wingers, shot when the opportunity arises

Menez - you will look to make inside to out runs, they defence will not be able to cope with them and it will create the space behind for you to get in, creating goalscoring opportunites for you and thh chance to set up team mates, always make back post run when gamiero is crossing.

gamiero - you will use outside to inside runs using that pace to beat the man on the outside and leaving you all the space in the world to break into, as the cb comes to close you down play the early low crosses for de jong and menez defenders hate these, hernanes breaking late for rebounds and cut backs make, when the cb doesn't come tower down on goal using clinical nature to score. make back post run when menez has the ball.

De Jong - You will hold up ball and drop it out to wingers and hernanes, turning for quick ball over the top for wingers we will be playing lots of crosses today so make sure you are in the box sniffing out chances, when making runs avoid back post runs looking to favour the centre front post just getting in front of attacker and nicking touch

Subs

Bodmor for song 67th minute all circumstances fresh legs, straight swap no tactical changes

If losing - 75th minute

Danny for Matuidi

---------Bodmor------------
menez----hernanes---Danny
-------De Jong-Gamiero

all circumstances hernanes - aimer in 83rd minute

Good luck out there

PSG v VALENCIA

I felt the result didn’t reflect the way we played, I felt we were on for a draw or narrow defeat. I felt this was the best we have played for a long time. The one downfall we possibly had was giving Arsenal too much time on the ball and inviting them forward to attack us, this is something that this week we will need to work on and improve. PSG are not a weak team and a win could take them up to 2nd in the league if Roma are to lose, So Lets make it as hard as we can for them this week so that they struggle to achieve that. We also need to get a bit of credibility back for ourselves to build on next season so lets go out with a win.
Lastly I want to thank you all for helping me since coming in to take over, I know we were heavily disadvantaged after the last manager leaving and selling most of our stand out players, so I’am making this promise to you now, I will aim to bring in a few new faces at the end of the season when we have some more money to spend.
Come On Valencia!!!!!!!

General Tactics
Keep as Attacking as Possible but if you are needed to defend then do so. Listen for calls from team mates and coaching team.

Stay as Tight to your men at all times, don’t do anything stupid that will upset things by giving away penalties and possible sending offs.. Also do anything you can to not concede goals, Goal line clearances will be a must try if Gomes is out of Position for any reason, Boot ball out of play if you are in any doubt and don’t pass back.
Talk to each other at all times and help out anyone along the backline that needs it, but try and keep with your man as much as possible, we can lose goals if this happens, which at the end of the game could be fatal.

Midfield Tactics
Play the ball in Downward pointing Triangles this is the quickest way to get down the pitch. Wide men are to use there pace to get round the opponents LB and RB, Cross the ball in as early as possible and as accurate as possible. Like the defenders don’t do anything that could cost us at the end of the game. You will also be required to defend when needed, so do so. If you are in doubt while defending, boot the ball out of play and run back and pick up one of the opposition players

Corners

Defending
Keep tight to there attacking players, don’t push and pull at them, if you feel you can get it away safely do so and get it up the pitch to Borges and Aduriz who will be standing on the half way line. 3 of you are to stand on the edge of the Box, the rest will stand in the box except those on the half way line. Pienaar and Apono are to stand on a post each. Try and get the ball up field as there could be a chance for a counter attack.

Attacking
Centre backs are to come up into the penalty area, with the left back and right back the left back on the half way line. Apono is to stand on the edge of the area where if the ball comes out to him he is to take a shot or to get the ball back into the area quickly. A double bounce of the ball before it being placed will signal a cross, a single bounce will signal the ball going to the edge of the area

Corner Takers
Right- Pienaar
Left- Isco

Free Kicks

From Defensive Areas
Gomes will take all free kicks in defensive areas upto the half way line
Defenders watch for any miss kicks as these can be fatal if they leave players forward to attack. All other players head for the attacking half.

From Attacking Areas
Pienaar will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Isco will take over.

This Leaves us Isco who will stand on the edge of the Centre Circle on our defensive half, and the two strikers, who will stand just inside the centre circle. This is so if a break away is on we have the chance to make something of it.

Penalties
Taker-Rodruiguez
When we take penalties all 4 defenders are to move to the half way line with the rest of the team standing on the edge of the box. This is so that if the penalty is saved, we have a few bodies back to stop a counter attack. Be careful not to encroach into the box.

Substitutions

Subs If Winning
65mins- Off-Isco On- Topal- this gives us a bit more of a defensive bite in midfield
80mins- Off- Borges On-Bristo- Change to 5-4-1 Formation, with Valera moving to a more central position

Subs if Loseing
65mins- Off- Pienaar On- Rodriguez- Change to 4-3-3 Formation

Matchday 10

EVERTON v Arsenal

Injuries: Fred, Aleandro Rosi, Leon Osman, Antoine Griezmann

-----------------------Howard-------------------------

Dabo-----------Agger--------Papadopoulos--------Gibbs

Djalma----------Gerrard--------Diarra--------Bilyaletdinov

---------------Lambert---------Rocchi---------------

Captain: Howard
Long range FK's: Diarra
Short range FK's: Gerrard/Lambert
Corners: Gerrard
Penalties: Lambert

Subs: Butland, Mertesacker, Garrido, Coleman, Cahill, Saha, Donovan

Today we are up against a strong Arsenal side, but we do have the backing of 40,000 Evertonians so home advantage is a strong advantage. In goal we have the ever reliable Tim Howard, I expect Howard to do what he does best, command a penalty area while maintaining strong contact with his defence. We have a very solid yet exciting back four, with Mahamadou Dabo and Kieran Gibbs providing pace and attacking instinct as the full backs, while ensuring not to over-committ and make sure we have strength in numbers at the back. In Agger and Papadopoulos at the back, we have a phenominal central defensive pairing, with two players who are great in the air and with enough strength and pace between them to keep Van Persie quiet at best. Both men are also a big goal threat when we have set-pieces, and have a habit of appearing in the right place to score with a header.

On the right of midfield we have the lightning quick Djalma, who's primary objective is to beat the full back and put in some dangerous crosses for the front two. Not forgetting that Djalma needs to track back and assist Dabo on the right hand side, Dabo will also be assisting Djalma in attack when in possession and doubling up on their left back. The same applies on the left, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov will have the task of beating their right back and crossing the ball, cutting inside every now and again to mix it up. Bilyaletdinov will have to assist Gibbs at certain times to prevent Gibbs from being isolated by both the Right back and Right winger, but at the same time Gibbs will join Bilyaletdinov and overlap if necessary to isolate their right back.

In the centre of midfield, Steven Gerrard and Mahamadou Diarra will continue their partnership. The only difference between last week and this week is that while Diarra will once again sit in front of the back four and do his best to break up any free flowing attacks and use his head when in possession, as well as do what he can to prevent the likes of Van Persie, Hazard and Gervinho from getting an easy ride, Steven Gerrard will be given permission to attack much more frequently. Gerrard will be able to use his array of passing and if the time comes, long range shooting, Gerrard will make the runs through to support the strikers and make late runs to provide a genuine threat to Arsenal's defence whenever the ball is being crossed into the penalty area.

The front two are a partnership of a very classy centre forward in Tommaso Rocchi, and an absolute goal machine in Rickie Lambert. Lambert will be given the task of doing what he does best, put the ball in the net. It's hard to find a genuine out and out goalscorer, but in Rickie Lambert, we have found one. Lambert will give absolutely everything to get onto the end of the crosses from out wide, and also to get to set pieces from Gerrard. While Rocchi is also a natural finisher, he is a very clever and sly player, doing whatever he can to slip the defender and get the extra yard of space around him which could prove to be crucial. Rocchi is the ferfect foil for Lambert, and I expect these two to form a very deadly yet unorthodox partnership in attack.

Subs:

65 mins (whatever the score) Louis Saha on, Tommaso Rocchi off. As good as Rocchi is, he is ageing. Louis Saha would replace him upfront and be a big impact off the bench as Saha has strength and pace in short, frequent bursts, and the ability to finish in front of goal, be it with his head or with his feet.

70 mins (if we are losing or drawing) Tim Cahill on, Mahamadou Diarra off. Cahill provides more of an attacking threat from centre midfield, and will have a licence to join in with the front two for crosses from out wide and from set pieces.

70 mins (if we are winning) Javier Garrido on, Kieran Gibbs off. Gibbs is younger, faster and more attack minded, so in order to maintain what we have, Garrido would slot into left back, still have the pace and ability to attack and defend appropriately, but Garrido also has the extra maturity required to ensure we don't over-commit in attack.

80 mins (if we are losing) Landon Donovan on, Djalma off. Donovan would join the front two and make it into a front three, with Steven Gerrard moving across to the right of a midfield three.

80 mins (if we are winning or drawing) Seamus Coleman on, Djalma off. Coleman would use his fresh legs to be a strong outlet for us if we are counter attacking, Coleman is a quick player and would be running at a tiring left back, who would be without cover as our opponents push forward.

ROMA TACTICS VS SCHALKE

Stekelenburg

De Rossi-Montolivo-Ramsey
Marin------------------------Podolski
Milito

Subs
Lobont
Kaboul
Lucas
Dzagoev
Downing
Osvaldo

Injured players
Stefano Okaka
Erik Lamela
Marko Marin

Freekick 28 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 27 yards or less: Montolivo/Marin/Alex
Corner Right: Marin
Corner Left: Montolivo
Penalty: De Rossi
Corners: Big players go up, when defending big players mark thier big players

GENERAL: My team is set up to attack from the width aswell as the centre, we play short passing game, long ball, wing play, direct style diffrent ways to open up Schalke. We beat them earlier on in the season and feel we can do that again today. When we are on the ball I want the attacking players always to keep moving when they release the ball don't stay in one place. When defending we work as a unit each base has to cover the part they are in. Lasty be brave my boys not in the sense of tackling or fighting but brave with the ball, demand the ball make that pass forward keep possesion. Lets get the win.

Gonul the aim is to defend first and attack second, when attacking make runs over our winger creating space for him, when you get the ball I want you to be putting them in for the attackers. When defending watch the ball not the man, do not dive into a tackle unless it is the last option, jockey your man push him backwards or if he tries to come inside we have players in the middle to stop that.

Alex will pick up thier main striker, position your self in a way where he has to pass the ball backwards or the forward ball is harder to play. Keep him on his weaker foot, do not rush and close down keep your position please that is how teams get opened up. Stay focused always communicate with Kjaer and don't let the gap between you two get too big.

Kjaer will pick up any other attacker or striker, I want Kjaer to use his reading and positioning of the game to intercept passes, get in the way stop danger before it becomes a problem. I want my defence to push up a bit higher then normal keeping Schalke back foot.

Radu the aim is to defend first and attack second, when attacking make runs over our winger creating space for him, when you get the ball I want you to be putting them in for the attackers. When defending watch the ball not the man, do not dive into a tackle unless it is the last option, jockey your man push him backwards or if he tries to come inside we have players in the middle to stop that.

Montolivo is the creater of the team, keep the ball ticking, control the tempo of the game slow or fast depending on the situation, look for the wingers making runs beyond opposition fullbacks, if we don't have any opeening then just keep the ball ticking so we keep possesion. When defending stand your ground, you don't need to put a tackle in just watch your man and kill of the options for them to pass forward.

De Rossi will play box to box supporting the attack on breaks and helping back. When defending be more aggresive in the tackle then Monty, don't give them time to settle close them down but don't be so aggresive near our own box. When attacking drive forward like Yaya Toure, get the ball move with it and pass it to the others while maintaing your run into the box. When Ramsey attacks you will defend and vice versa.

Ramsey will also play box to box, when De Rossi goes forward you will drop and vice versa. You will have more on you to pass the striker into space and opening the opposition up in thier half, you have good possesion of the ball use it well and distrubute it teammates. When defending put tackle in when you can and hold your ground when you can use logic when defending don't always need to make a tackle.

Valbuena use width get crosses in for the striker, variety of crosses, far/near post, cross shots. Also make runs inside the fullback with the speed you have they will struggle Montolivo will be looking to make those passes to you. Run at your man with speed while maintaining control of the ball. Help our fullback by following thier fullback when defending.

Podolski you are a goal threat with a brilliant record from this position, come inside to the box at times get into positions to score. When out wide link up with others and make runs forward into the box or outside on the wing to get crosses in. Always play pass and move and use your sense of goal to get one today. Help our fullback by following thier fullback when defending.

Milito play simple nothing fancy, when you recieve the ball to look for a team mate to pass and move forward. Never stay static always keep moving do not give thier defenders a chance to mark you. When in the box move around, make the last second dash to the front/near post calculating where the ball will go to get infront of the defender. Knock balls on for players making runs ahead of you.

SUB 65 MIN
Marin off Downing on (Fresh legs)

SUB 75 MIN IF LOSING
Ramsey off Osvaldo on (We play 4-4-2)

SUB 75 MIN IF WINNING
Ramsey off Soriano on (More defensive player in the middle)

SUB 83 MIN IF LOSING
Montolivo off Dzagoev on (Dzagoev AM get forward more)

SUB 83 IF WINNING
Montolivo off Lucas on (Lucas DM good tackler energy and keep possesion)

SCHALKE v Roma Tactics

--------------Fahrmann-----------------------------
Uchida--Howedes(C)--Djourou--Escudero----
-----------Adam--------Witsel---------------------
Shaqiri---------------------------Bojan------------
-----------Owen------------------------------------
-------------------Yilmaz----------------------------

Subs: Unnerstall (GK), Demichelis (CB), Hoogland (RB), Tőzsér (CM), Jones (DM), Babacar (ST), Metzelder (CB)

Captain: Howedes
Corners: Adam
Free-kicks: Adam
Penalties: Adam

Injuries:
Christian Fuchs
Barry Bannan
Jan Moravek

Overview: I said last week was a must win game but seeing as both we and Valencia lost a point will suffice. However, that doesn't mean sitting back and holding on for a point, I want to see this team playing attacking football.

Goalkeeper:

Full-backs: Escudero, hang back and defend with the centre backs. Do not venture forwards. Uchida, you can attack. Work together with Shaqiri. Overlap him, exchange passes, but be wary and remember to defend on the counter attacks. To both of you: When we have corners, stay back, ready to defend the counter attack if it comes.

Centre-backs: If Roma play 1 striker, Howedes will cover him and Djourou can sweep up any loose balls. If Roma play two strikers, Howedes and Djourou will man mark each striker, but be careful not to foul them too near the penalty area. Both of you can come up for corners but remember to get back into the defense quickly unless we score.

Shaqiri: Work with Uchida when attacking down the wing. Exchange passes with him to move past the LM and then run at the space between the LB and the LCB before having a shot on goal. Alternatively, sprint down the wing and whip in a cross for Yilmaz

Witsel: Work with Adam in the middle. Feel free to join in with the attacks but remember to help out in the midfield, otherwise we will be swamped. Help Bojan out on the wing if possible when attacking as I have instructed Escudero to stay back.

Adam: Playmaker as always. Either play the long balls out to the wingers, the strikers or take the ball forward and have a shot from distance. I've instructed Witsel to attack if possible so I want you to hang back a little bit and provide some sort of protection to the defence.

Bojan: Due to the injury to Bannan, I'm playing you on the wing today. Work with Witsel to attack the left back and get in behind the defence. When you are near the penalty area, get the ball on your right foot and have a shot. Alternatively, get down to the corner flag, get the ball on your right foot and play a cross into the box.

Owen: I want you to play on the shoulder of the centre backs. Keep moving and they'll find it hard to pick you up. Look for passes along the ground from the right or the ball being knocked down for you by Yilmaz. You're still a clinical finisher so any chances you get in the box, get the shot away unless there's someone in a better position.

Yilmaz: You will be playing a Carroll-esque role today. I want you on the end of all crosses from the wing and all long balls from Adam or anyone else upfield. Make your presence well known in the opposition defence to make space for Owen to nip through. Knock the ball down for him if you can or alternatively get a shot away.

Subs:
If winning after 70 minutes, Witsel off and Jones on. Provide protection to the defense but make sure to be present n the middle of the park.
If losing after 70 minutes, Witsel off and Tőzsér on. Look to attack when possible, be the link between Adam and the forwards.

Regardless, after 60 minutes, Escudero off and Hoogland on. Some fresh legs for the defense, stay back and protect the CB's.
Regardless, aftern 70 minutes, Owen off and Babacar on. Fresh legs in attack, use your size to make your presence known in the opposition defence.

Team Talk

Right, A great victory last week, we still have a small chance f getting into the Champs league, lets keep this run going, and end the season on a high note. I expect our opponents to play A 4-4-2 formation as played last week. and we will cover this be p;laying to deeper midfielders and three behind a striker, This will allow us to play simple passes by passing there midfield and leaving us 4 on 4 when we are attacking

General Instructions
We will play a 4-2-3-1 playing two deeper midfielders and three behind a striker, This will allow us to play simple passes bypassing the centre midfielders midfield and leaving us 4 on 4 when we are attacking. We will continue to play a high pressing game, Force the mistakes, to break quickly. If i have saidd it once have said it a thousand times, DEFENCE WINS MATCHES

Individual Instructions

Mcgregor - Communicate with Sakho and the defence as a whole to keep all the danger in front of the back four, and make sure they dnt get within the box, Come for crosses that do make it in.

Full backs - They are going to try to use the pace to get round you, push them infield, crowd out the wingers that way, do not dive in stay on defensive duty this week

Sakho & Landrel - Sakho Communicate with mcgregor keep the defensive in a good line about 18 yards, You wil man mark striker no 1, Landre you will man mark the second striker, they are going to try to play a crossng game and get the ball in early, make sure you are facing up and you will win these all day having the jump on the defender. Stay on your feet, Block shots , show strikers to weaker foots

Diarra and song - You will be both play a high pressing game, if one goes to press, the other sits and watches the other central midfielders run, you will have ther midfielders helping you close down, hernanes will always be forward for an out ball, although danny and menez should be available behind the midfield play the simple pass into the space the midfielder has just left and we are away 4 on 4 minimum and have there defenders having to turn, the worst position for a defender

hernanes - Your hard work ;ast week was much appreciated this week, you will have slightly less to do, you will be midfielder further forward t ensure gamiero is not alone, play simple passes and look to get menez and danny and gamiero through, there will be plenty space, shot if the opportunity arises

Danny and Menez - Drop slightly wider, Always come back and press and follow the winger, push him inside, we will win position here, look to break into the space the winger has left, they will not chase you, Get into into the box when the other has the ball, covering the back post

gamiero - Stay close to the defenders on the shoulder, look to break in behind, bend your runs so not to get caught offside, make sure you are in the box when danny and menez break,

Subs

Matuidi for song 67th minute all circumstances fresh legs, straight swap no tactical changes

If losing - 75th minute

De Jong for Diarra

---------Maytuidi------------
menez----hernanes---Danny
-------De Jong-Gamiero

all circumstances hernanes - aimer in 83rd minute

Lets finish on a high out there

Season 2 Week 1- Juventus vs Valencia
Injuries- Aduriz, Heinze,Totti

From The Manager
Welcome back for our first game of the new season, we have been able to add to the squad with some players who I fell will help out the lads from last season a lot, with a combination of young and experience coming in. I feel we have a good chance this year in the league and in the domestic cup of making a major improvement compared to lasr season.
Today we play Juventus, who themselves have made a good few signings from last season that will be a very different prospect as to what they were last season.
This game today will be a good proving ground for us to show how far we have come over the last few weeks. If we can get points on the board today it will be an excellent start as it took us a few weeks last time to pick up points
COME ON VALENCIA!!!!!!!!!!

Team Sheet.

--------------------------Gomes-----------------------------
-----Vitor-----Dealbert-------Natali-----Saltor-----
-----Pienaar-----Moritz----------Albelda---Hoilett
----------------Kanoute-----------Borges----------------

Subs- Bracali, Bristo, Mangala, Jurado, Souza, Pacheco, Hoarau

Tactics

Dealbert and Pienaar will stand on each post. Hoilett and Borges will stay the furthest up field with Borges waiting on the half way line and Hoilett playing just on the edge of the centre circle in the attacking half of the pitch waiting to set up any counter attack.

Albelda is to stand on the edge of the area where if the ball comes out to him he is to take a shot or to get the ball back into the area quickly. A double bounce of the ball before it being placed will signal a crossed ball into the box, a single bounce will signal the ball going to the edge of the area

Corner takers
Left- Hoilett
Right- Pienaar

Free Kicks and Penalties

Defensive Areas
Gomes will take all free kicks in defensive areas upto the half way line
Defenders watch for any miss kicks as these can be fatal if they leave players forward to attack. All other players head for the attacking half.

Attacking Areas
Pienaar will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Hoilett will take over.

This Leaves us Hoilett who will stand on the edge of the Centre Circle on our defensive half, and the two strikers, who will stand just inside the centre circle. This is so if a break away is on we have the chance to make something of it.

Penalty Taker
Borges

When we take penalties all 4 defenders are to move to the half way line with the rest of the team standing on the edge of the box. Be careful not to encroach into the box

Subs if winning
60mins- Off- Duda On-Jurado his gives us a bit more of a defensive bite in midfield
70mins Off- Kanoute On- Bristo, Change to 5-4-1 Formation

Subs if loseing
60mins- Off- Moritz On- Pacheco- Change to 4-3-1-2 formation with Pacheco playing behind the front 2

Season 2 Gameweek 1
Bayer Leverkusen v EVERTON

Injuries: Yobo, Gignac, Kuyt

(4-2-3-1)

--------------Ospina--------------

Gamez - Garay - Demichelis - Ziegler

--------Marchisio - Keita-----------

-----Iturbe - Kranjcar - Nene------

--------------Carroll---------------

Subs: Butland, Sidnei, Crescenzi, Diarra, Aimar, Shea, Lambert

Captain: Marchisio, Long range free kicks: Marchisio, Short range free kicks: Ziegler/Iturbe, Penalties: Carroll

Today we are up against a Leverkusen side with a new manager, with the amount of chaos going on in finding a manager and the new manager not having worked with his squad for long, we want to take advantage of that. Goalkeeper is David Ospina, he's a great keeper who will only get better, already a Colombian international, he knows how to command his area and speaks the same language as his centre backs.

Centre backs are the Argentine pairing of Ezequiel Garay and Martin Demichelis, these two know each other very well and with the goalkeeper being Colombian, all three men speak fluent Spanish and there will be no issues with communication. Both men are Argentina internationals and these two in defence should be a match for any attacking threat posed by Leverkusen.

Full backs are the Swiss international Reto Ziegler, and the Spaniard Jesus Gamez Duarte. The task of these two men will not only be to primarily stop the threat from out wide from Leverkusen, but to provide an overlap to the attack, Ziegler to support the left winger and Gamez to support the right winger. When either of these two are out of position, the two defensive midfielders will step in to ensure we don't get caught out on the counter attack.

Defensive midfield is the current Italian international Claudio Marchisio and our record signing from Barcelona, Seydou Keita, capped 55 times for Mali. The responsibility of these two men will be to sit in front of the back four and prevent any attacking threat from the Leverkusen midfield. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the full backs are covered in the event of either full back being too far forward, or if the full back is isolated by the opposition's winger and full back, one of these two will assist to make it 2 on 2.

It is likely that Santi Cazorla and Yoann Gourcuff will be the main attacking threats from Leverkusen, so it is imperitive that when we do not have possession, one of Seydou Keita or Claudio Marchisio helps out the full back and we can go 2 on 1 against Cazorla, and the other one of Keita and Marchisio closely follows Gourcuff, almost man marking him.

Our Attacking midfield three is, on the right, highly promising Argentina U20 international Juan Iturbe, on the left the highly rated Brazilian Nene, and in the centre, the vastly underrated Croatian international Niko Kranjcar. Juan Iturbe will be able to run at the Leverkusen left back, with assistance overlapping from Jesus Gamez Duarte from right back. Iturbe can beat the man, play in Gamez to cross the ball, or cross the ball in himself, as well as provide the option to cut inside and shoot.

On the left, Nene isn't as fast as he used to be but this is countered by his smart footballing brain, Nene still has all the tricks, he can bend in a cross, and he can shoot. He will have Ziegler overlapping to create space required, and Ziegler can also put in a great cross. Nene and Iturbe will often swap wings to provide an alternative problem for the Leverkusen defence, Nene and Iturbe cutting in to shoot on their stronger foot.
Niko Kranjcar is playing a free role, he can drop deep to get possession, he can pass to either player wide of him, he can shoot on sight, and he can use Marchisio and Keita behind him to keep possession as both of them are very talented and can use possession very well. Kranjcar will also occasionally play as a support striker to Andy Carroll, being there first for any knockdowns as Carroll is very good in the air and should be able to outmuscle and beat the centre back to the header.

Kranjcar will be the main focus of Blaise Matoudi, the new Leverkusen defensive midfielder. If he plays and he is following Kranjcar, Kranjcar's responsibilities will be to drag him away from the centre, drop out wide, swap positions with either Iturbe or Nene, and leave a hole in the middle for either Iturbe or Nene to penetrate.

Our lone Centre forward is Andy Carroll, but he will be the focal point. With Kranjcar, Iturbe, Nene, Gamez and Ziegler all instructed to look to cross the ball and supply chances to Carroll, it will be the Andy Carroll of Newcastle who gets regular service and scores goals, unlike the Andy Carroll of Liverpool who was expected to fit in with their gameplan. This side is built around Carroll and he will reward us with goals as he gets chance after chance. In some cases he will be the target man for long passes forward from the centre backs or defensive midfielders, Carroll will be a great outlet and will be able to hold onto possession until the support arrives from Iturbe, Nene and Kranjcar.

Subs:
65 mins: Pablo Aimar for Niko Kranjcar - Aimar will take over the role from Niko, only with fresher legs and fresher ideas. Aimar is highly talented and he will be able to unlock the Leverkusen defence with his ridiculously talented tricks and skills.

70 mins (if losing): Rickie Lambert for Seydou Keita - Lambert will partner Carroll upfront as we push to get back into the game, instead of the 4-2-3-1 we would switch to a 4-1-3-2 formation.

70 mins (if winning or drawing): Rickie Lambert for Andy Carroll - We would continue with the same formation, Lambert is a very similar type of player to Carroll and would provide the same threat, but be fresh and able to challenge tiring defenders.

70 mins: Brek Shea for Nene - Shea is lightning quick, touted as the next Gareth Bale, and would be up against tiring defenders. Shea can beat the full back and put in an array of crosses for the centre forward(s). Shea is also not afraid to shoot, with either foot, and is a real talent when we are in search for a goal or just for that someone to retain possession and cause problems to Leverkusen on the counter attack.

Final note from the manager: You all know your responsibilities and I expect you to stick to them, work hard, play hard, and I expect a win to get this season started with a bang.

ROMA TACTICS VS SCHALKE

Stekelenburg
Gonul----Kjaer----Alex----Radu
Montolivo---Martinez
Marin----Valbuena----Podolski
Milito

Subs
Lobont
Kaboul
Lucas
Lamela
Elia
Vucinic
Osvaldo

Injuries
Stuart Downing
Marco Cassetti
Loïc Nego

Freekick 28 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 27 yards or less: Valbuena/Montolivo
Corner right: Montolivo
Corner left: Marin
Penalty: Milito
Corners: Big players go up and big players mark thier big players when defending corners.

GENERAL: First game of the season and my first 11 is the same as last season so we do not have to worry about players bedding in or need to gel. We will look to pass the ball, let Schalke play in thier own half but when they come in ours we press them. I want my players to keep moving never stay static.

Gonul as a defender main objective is to defend, he will pick his timing when to make runs. When defending I want Gonul to watch the ball, do not dive in jockey your man and force him backwards or onto his weaker foot. When going forward make runs passed our winger when you get the ball put the ball into the box.

Kjaer will play as the ball playing defender, I want him to intercept passes and use his positionel sense to reduce the danger. Don't run into players hold your position and get into positions where it stops thier attack by inmtercepting the pass or closing the area down. Bring the ball forward to start attacks for us. Watch thier AM or second SS making runs.

Alex will play as the hard man defender, pick up the opposition main striker try to jockey him and not going into tackles unless you have to. You have the strength and speed to go one on one against the striker. Don't leave the distance between yourself and Kjaer get too far always communicate and go up for corners.

Radu will be more defensive then Gonul so it's harder for them to open us on the break, keep the winger on the outside if you can if he does come inside we have Martinez/Montolivo to help you. Keep a little distance so you can recover if he turns, jockey him don't rush in.

Montolivo will play as the deep lying playmaker today, keep the ball moving for us and dictate the tempo look for our wingers who will make runs in behind the opposition FB, keep the ball ticking and demand the ball to start moves for us. Help Martinez in defensive duties, hold your line jockey the opposition you do not have to make a tackle unless its vital, just stay around them and close down options to pass the ball, watchout for opposition winger who may come inside.

Martinez will play as the DM who puts in tackles and closes the opposition down work hard for the team and work as a unit with Montolivo. Keep it simple with the passing let the others do that you just win the ball get back into posiotion and pass a teammate. Hold your position in the middle of the park, be the battler in thier.

I want Podolski to be the goal threat he was last season, cut inside the box pass and make your way into dangerous position look to get goals but also use the width of your side to get crosses in for teammates and passes. Link up with the other attacking players. When defending help our defense by picking up the opposition fullback.

I would like Marin to use the width of the pitch, run at the opposition defender and get crosses in, we want a a constent supply of balls so we that will be his role. Look for the likes of Valbuena to play in or Podolski who will coming into the box. BE aware of Montolivo passing balls behind the opposition for you to run onto and help our fullback to defend.

Valbuena will play in the middle, he will get forward to help Milito and make runs beyond him to run onto flick ons or through balls. Always look to move around the final third dragging men with you to open space for us be a threat and if you have the chance to shoot then do it. Put pressure on the opposition DM, reduce the chance of them starting moves andmake them pass backwards.

Milito will play as the lone striker, I want Milito to stay on the move do not give the opposition time to mark you. Beforea cross comes in take a gamble onto the front/back post anticipate where the ball will go and move before the defenders. Be aware of Gonuls early crosses. Make runs behind thier defenders if you can we have the players with ability to find you. Hold the ball up at times or flick it on for Valbuena.

SUB 65 MIN
Marin off Elia on (Fresh legs)

75 MIN IF LOSING
Martinez off Osvaldo on (We play 4-4-2)

75 MIN IF WINNING
Valbuena off Lucas on (A more defensive minded player)

80 MIN IF LOSING
Milito off Vucinic on (A diffrent striker upfront)

Week 1 v Everton (h)

Injuries: Olivier Giroud

Formation: 4-2-3-1 Attacking

Giefer

Schwaab Gallas Hangeland Filipe

Matuidi Ramsey

Granero Gourcuff Cazorla

Gameiro

Subs Leno, Santos, Ballack, Miyaichi, Van Buyten, Jorgenson, Ortega

Managers Note

Afternoon. Lets keep our philosophy simple. Play the game as we all know we can play. Play intelligent football. Use the space and manipulate it to your advantage. Don’t be afraid to have a go and if things aren’t going right, use your initiative to bring others into the game to relieve pressure. Have no fear. We may be a new team but we’ve got excellent technical ability throughout the squad and we can dominate possession but I don’t want to see us trying to pass the ball into the net, create chances and take them.

Free Kicks: Cazorla and Gourcuff
Captain Aaron Ramsey

Tactics

Keeper: Be strong and commanding. Dominate the box and organise. Look to release the ball early to the wingers.

Full backs: Don’t drift too far up the pitch. Allow the DM’s and wings to dictate the play but support them when required. Watch the line and expected the unexpected. They will come at you and mix things up. Keep your heads and lead by example.

Centre Backs: Dominate in the air but don’t foul. Keep an eye on your marking. Don’t get too tight.. Play a tight line and talk to your wing backs. Don’t let the DM’s drop too far back; push them up to boss play in the middle of the park. Pass the ball out where you can and look to the wings. Keep your heads and lead by example.

Aaron & Blaise: Simple football, work the triangles and bring the winger in to play at every opportunity. Aaron, push forward to support on attacks, Blaise, break up play and make yourself seen. Don’t get sloppy.

Santi & Esteban: Hug the touchine and drift. Don’t let their fullbacks get too comfy around you. Mix it up, but importantly run at their backline. Look for Olivier to be in around the penalty spot. Don’t get caught and help the full backs out if we are pressured.

Yoann: Play the free role. Be the link between the DM’s and the Wings when building from the back, but support Kevin. Look to play the ball to feet and move to space. Make their centre halves chasae you.

Kevin: Lone frontman. You’re used to it. Make yourself an aerial target but be intelligent, make room for the wings to cut inside if it creates space and chances. Prowl the penalty box when we’re on the attack deep in their half.

Subs

70: Matuidi for Ballack
80: Granero for Miyaichi
85: Gourcuff for Jorgenson team to go 4-4-2.

ROMA V SCHALKE

Overview: Possibly the most difficult game of the season. I've set up a formation that will hit Roma on the counter attack as an all-out attacking approach will probably result in us getting a hiding.

Line-up:

-------------Adler---------------
--Uchida--Howedes (C)--Agger--Izaguirre--
--------------Capoue--------------
----Bojan----Adam----Donovan----
-------------Dzagoev--------------
------------Mandzukic------------

Subs: Fahrmann (GK), Metzelder (CB), Fuchs (LB/LM), Djourou (CB/RB), Leitner (CM), Witsel (CM) Yilmaz (ST).

Captain: Big Bad Benedikt
Free kicks: Adam
Corners: Adam
Penalties: Mandzukic

First Half:

Overview: Keep it tight for the first 15 minutes. Relentless pressure when they hav the ball, hunt them down in packs of 2. Keep numbers behind the ball and look to counter them. Let them pass it in their own half all they want but in our half, come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Adler: Catch everything you can, you're over 1.9m tall. Look to start off the counter attack and always play safety first. If in doubt, boot the ball as far away as possible.

Fullbacks (Izaguirre and Uchida):
Izaguirre - Close the RW down and send him into the middle where Capoue or one of the CB's will take the ball off of him. When we attack, you attack. Look for Mandzukic or Dzagoev when you go forward. Attack down the left wing with Donovan, if you overlap him he will fall back to cover you.

Uchida: Same tactics against against the LW. If it's Downing, make sure you send him into the middle. We don't want him crossing the ball in. Stay with him, you're quick enough to do that. On the counter attack, get the ball to Bojan on the wing as soon as possible and he'll do the rest.

Both: Stay back when we have corners, ready to defend if they break away.

Centrebacks (Howedes and Agger):

Howedes: You are in charge of the defence, make sure they are in a straight line. Work with Agger to close down the opposition when they attack. If the Roma wingers are sent into the middle, you, Agger or Capoue will take the ball off of them and look to start the counter. Go up when we have corners but be quick to go back into the defence.

Agger: You are working alongside Howedes so follow his instructions. Work as a team to close the opposition down, remember Capoue will help when possible. Don't go up for corners, just stay back.

Both: If Roma play one up front, Howedes will mark him and Agger will clear up. If Roma play 2 up front, Howedes and Agger will mark a man each and Capoue will clear up.

Capoue: You are the DM and therefore the link between the defenders and the attackers. Look to send the opposition strikers into our CB's when the have the ball. Help out the defence as much as possible. Also, look to start the counter attack. Choose whether to give it to the wingers or Adam in the centre.

Adam: You are the playmaker. A lot of our attacks will be based around you. If we are on the counter attack, send the ball to the wingers and they will sprint down the wings, taking the fullbacks on. If we are slowly building up play, run forward and look to play a defence-splitting pass to Mandzukic. Or you can try and find him with a long range ball.

Wingers (Bojan and Donovan):

Bojan: You are very fast so use that to your advantage on the attack. When you get the ball, run with it down the wing. Take the defenders on, with quick feet and a bit of skill you should be able to get past them.

Donovan: Play quite far forward. You can play alongside Mandzukic from time to time and Dzagoev will go onto the wing. Attack the fullback but look for the pass to Mandzukic. If you're playing further forward, if you have space get the shot away. If Izaguirre overlaps you, fall slightly back to cover a counter.

Both: I know you are both attack minded so attack when possible, look to turn the fullbacks and centrebacks inside out. Also, feel free to swap wings if you're having no luck.

Dzagoev: As the AM you will be the link between the midfielders and Mandzukic. You will be playing a supporting role to Mandzukic so look to get forward when possible. If Donovan plays alongside Mandzukic you will be sent out to the wing so look to get forward whilst covering Izaguirre.

Mandzukic: You are a lone striker but will have support from either Dzagoev or Donovan. Look for the ball from the wings and try and get on the end of it. Alternatively, Adam will send a ball from midfield up to you. You can either give it to Dzagoev or have a shot.

Second Half

Overview: Look to attack from the off for the first 20 minutes with relentless attacking football before settling into the first half routine.

Goalkeeper: Same as first half.

Defenders: Same as first half for the CB's, FB's look to attack a little bit more.

Capoue: Same as first half

Dzagoev: Move into position as a second striker behind Mandzukic.

Wingers: Be a bit more penetrating (giggity) and attacking.

Adam: Be a bit more direct. Get the ball up to the attackers or the wingers as soon as possible and attack a little yourself. Have a few shots from range but only if there's nothing else on.

Mandzukic: Same as first half.

Subs:

If winning after 60 mins: Dzagoev off, Witsel on
Bojan off, Djourou on
Revert to this formation:
---------------Adler---------------
-Uchida-Djourou-Howedes-Agger-Izaguirre-
---Witsel---Adam--Capoue--Donovan---
-------------Mandzukic------------

If winning after 70 minutes, Mandzukic off and Yilmaz on, keep the same formation.

If losing after 60 minutes, Capoue off and Yilmaz on

Go to:
--------------Adler----------------
--Uchida--Howedes--Agger--Izaguirre--
---------------Adam---------------
----Bojan-----Dzagoev-----Donovan----
-------Yilmaz--------Mandzukic-------

If still losing after 70 minutes, Donovan off and Fuchs on. Keep the same formation and Fuchs now takes free-kicks.

If still losing after 85 minutes, launch into full attack mode. Dzagoev goes up front and Fuchs stays on the wing. Go to a classic 4-3-3 formation.

--------------Adler----------------
--Uchida--Howedes--Agger--Izaguirre--
---Bojan------Adam------Fuchs---
----Mandzukic---Yilmaz---Dzagoev----

Matchday 2
EVERTON v Schalke

Injuries: Kyle McFadzean

Starting XI;
1. David Ospina, 3. Reto Ziegler, 4. Seydou Keita (C), 6. Ezequiel Garay, 7. Nicolas Gaitan, 8. Moussa Sissoko, 11. Coutinho, 12. Jesus Gamez Duarte, 23. Martin Demichelis, 24. Juan Iturbe, 30. Jordan Rhodes

Subs: 5. Joseph Yobo, 14. Juanfran, 16. Souleymane Coulibaly, 17. Niko Kranjcar, 25. Pablo Aimar, 27. Marcos Senna, 29. Nicolas Douchez

(4-2-3-1)

---------------Ospina--------------
---Duarte - Garay - Demichelis - Ziegler---
-----------Sissoko - Keita-------------
------Iturbe - Coutinho - Gaitan-----
---------------Rhodes-------------

Captain: Keita, Long range free kicks: Sissoko, Short range free kicks: Gaitan, Corners: Gaitan, Penalties: Rhodes

Today we are up against a Schalke side low on confidence. They lost 4-0 in Gameweek 1 and although we lost we can capitalise on the uncertainty in the Schalke camp. And despite the high level of transfers in the past week, there are only 4 changes to the side which lost last week, so I have made changes but have kept the base of the side together.

We start with the same back 4 and goalkeeper as last week, despite the return from injury of Joseph Yobo, I want to build on the partnership between David Ospina in goal, and the centre backs of Ezequiel Garay and Martin Demichelis. The centre backs will be up against the likely threat of Mario Mandzukic. He is a dangerous frontman but I want one of you to stick to him like glue while the other defender marks zonally, neutralising whatever threat is in front of you.

Bojan is the likely strike partner, he likes to drop deep to get possession, and Dzagoev is the other main threat, the defensive midfielders will help out when either or both of those two are attacking.

The full backs are the Swiss international Reto Ziegler, and the Spaniard Jesus Gamez Duarte. The task of these two men will not only be to primarily stop the threat from out wide from Schalke, but to provide an overlap to the attack, Ziegler to support the left winger and Duarte to support the right winger. When either of these two are out of position, the two defensive midfielders will step in to ensure we don't get caught out on the counter attack.

The defensive midfielders are the Malian combination of new signing Moussa Sissoko, and the new club captain Seydou Keita. The responsibility of these two men will be to sit in front of the back four and prevent any attacking threat from the Schalke midfield. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the full backs are covered in the event of either full back being too far forward, or if the full back is isolated by the opposition's winger and full back, one of these two will assist to make it 2 on 2.

Schalke missing Charlie Adam through injury is a boost as it takes away any advantage Schalke had in setpieces. And the attacking threat of Howedes from corners will be dealt with by double marking him at corners, Demichelis, Garay and Keita are all great in the air.

Our attacking midfield three is the highly rated Juan Iturbe, new Brazilian signing Coutinho, and our new record signing, Argentine international Nicolas Gaitan. These three will be lined up in their positions, but all three have the ability and the knowhow to interchange at any time, always keeping the back four of Schalke guessing, and creating plenty of space for us to shoot. One of the tasks of these three men is to pull either Howedes or Metzelder out of position, lure them forward towards you, and if they follow, pass into the gap where one of your teammates will be making a run, and if they back off, shoot.

Setpieces will be an alternative threat for us, they have Howedes and Metzelder but not much else, we have Rhodes but also our defensive pairing of Garay and Demichelis who are threats in the air, with expert delivery from Gaitan.

Our striker is new loan signing Jordan Rhodes. He will be on the receiving end of crosses from the full backs, and from passes from the attacking midfield. Andy Carroll missed too many chances in last week's opener, so Jordan gets his chance in the starting line up. Jordan Rhodes knows where the goal is, his record of 27 goals in 23 games this season proves you'd be hard pushed to find a more in form striker, and he wont have the same problems that Carroll faced last week.

Souleymane Coulibaly will be making his debut whatever happens, either as a replacement for Rhodes or as a partner to him, Coulibaly is only 17, but he has bags of pace and strength, and is not mentioned in the same breath as Didier Drogba for nothing. Coulibaly's job will be to outmuscle defenders, create space, make runs and shoot when given the chance. Coulibaly is not short of confidence, and is a natural goalscorer as proved when he scored 9 goals in 4 games at the U17 World Cup last summer.

Subs:

65 mins (if losing): Coulibaly on, Sissoko off. Coulibaly partners Rhodes and formation changes from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-3-2.
65 mins (if winning or drawing): Coulibaly on, Rhodes off. Fresh legs, pace to burn and loads of strength to outmuscle defenders and create opportunities.
65 mins: Juanfran on, Iturbe off. Experienced right midfielder, has the ability to beat the full back and get some crosses into the box, calmer when in possession.
70 mins (if winning): Kranjcar on, Coutinho off. Kranjcar stays central of the three, also can drop in alongside the two defensive midfielders to make a 4-3-2-1 formation when we're out of possession. Close the game out with controlled and accurate passing.

Manager's final word: Listen, we came close last week but we made some significant errors and allowed Leverkusen to get the upper hand on us. Today we're in front of 40,000 screaming Evertonians and we want to kick Schalke while they're down. We had the right workrate last week and I want you to replicate that again this week. Lets get out there and get a win on the board.

Everton v SCHALKE
Starting XI:
--------------Adler----------------
-Hoogland--Howedes--Djourou--Izaguirre-
--Fuchs--- Dzagoev ----Capoue---Zaha--
--------Mandzukic----Yilmaz--------
Subs: Metzelder, Leitner, Allan, Tőzsér, Bojan, Donovan
Captain: Big Bad Benedikt
Penalties: Mandzukic
Free-kicks: Fuchs
Overview: After a very undeserving 4-0 defeat by Roma at home we find ourselves away at Everton who are a decent team but lacking a killer instinct up front. I’m going for a different approach in this match, I’ve picked a big team so we’re going to bully the Everton players into mistakes and capitalise on them.

Remember, though, to keep it tight at all times. Don’t give the ball away in silly areas and be careful with challenges. There’s a difference between “being strong” and giving away a shed load of fouls.
Player Tactics:

Adler – You know, the usual. Big, strong, brave, organise the defence at set plays. Catch what you can and don’t punch. If in doubt, send the ball into the stratosphere. If we’re losing and have a corner deep into injury time, you may come up for it.

Hoogland – I’ve put Fuchs on your side to help you defend. Don’t attack, just stay put in defence. When we have corners, stay back for them, ready to stop the counter attack. Force their wingers out wide so they have no choice but to play a ball into the box. With the size of our CB’s, they won’t get many chances in the air.

Howedes – As captain you lead by example. Follow Adler’s instructions to keep the defence in a perfect straight line. Do not let the opposition strikers turn you inside out. Keep an eye on them at all times and work with Djourou to keep them with their back to goal. They lack a presence up front but have quick footed players so be careful with that. Be especially careful of Iturbe.

Djourou – It is your job to pick up a lone striker. If there is more than one up front then both you and Howedes man mark. As mentioned, keep the strikers with their backs to goal. No risky challenges, the last thing we want is to give away cheap opportunities to strike for goal.

Both – I’m expecting you to win everything in the air, be it when you are in their box for our corners, when they are in our box for their set plays or when they are crossing the ball in from the flanks.

Izaguirre – Zaha probably isn’t going to track back and help you so while I appreciate how much you like to get forward I don’t want you to make too of the fantastic lung-bursting runs you normally do. If the ball comes to you from one of their set plays feel free to take it and run as fast as possible towards their goal and either square it or have a shot. When we have corners, stay back for them, ready to stop the counter attack.

Fuchs – You are the main man when it comes to crossing from the wings or from set pieces. Play the long ball from up field to our strikers. You’ve done it plenty times before. Go forward but be cautious about leaving Hoogland exposed. For corners and free kicks, play them with massive amounts of pace and plant them right between the six yard box and the penalty spot where the keeper will be undecided about whether to come for it or not.

Dzagoev – You are our AM but your chief job is to stay in the midfield so we don’t get outnumbered. Link up play between the back 4 and the front 2. They’ve probably sent a man to mark you so don’t let that put you off. Keep the ball (and your marker) moving at all times, don’t let him bog you down. When we attack, so should you to back up the strikers.

Capoue – Defensive midfield duties. Mark their AM but also help out Izaguirre at LB, where we are a little exposed if Zaha doesn’t track back, especially when they are breaking down that wing. Expecting you to lead the midfield and organise them and to break up the opposition’s midfield play. Try and send the long ball to our strikers or alternatively play it out to the wingers who will then run at their defence.

Zaha – As one of the most exciting young wide players in the English game at the moment, now is your chance to make a big impression on this game. Your main focus should be getting forward, don’t worry too much about tracking back. Use your pace to attack the RB, keep moving and use a bit of skill to beat him. Then you have 2 choices: 1) Cross the ball into the box if someone is there or 2) Go for goal. Always cross the ball if there is someone in the box, especially Yilmaz. Both strikers are decent in the air and can get goals with their head. If you want to have a go, feel free, but if there’s someone in a better position give it to them. Don’t be greedy!!

Mandzukic – You’re an intelligent striker, you know what decisions to make. Get forward as often as possible. Yilmaz will be positioned between the two CB’s allowing you to break through. Look for the long ball from upfield and get on the end of it. Also pay attention to what the wingers are doing. If you get the ball from them, either have a shot or flick it onto Yilmaz. When the crosses come in, get your head on them.

Yilmaz – You are the “unit” up front. Your sole purpose is one of three things:
1) Cause mayhem in the central defence by positioning yourself between the two CB’s and allowing Mandzukic to exploit the space.
2) Getting on the end of either Fuchs’ or Capoue’s long balls from further upfield and having a run at the defence.
3) Getting your head on the end of crosses and set plays. You are a fantastic header of the ball, put it to use in this match.

Subs: If losing after 70 minutes, Yilmaz off and Donovan on. Go to 4-3-3.
--------------Adler----------------
-Hoogland--Howedes--Djourou--Izaguirre-
---Fuchs------Capoue------Dzagoev---
---Zaha-----Mandzukic-----Donovan---
If still losing after 80 minutes, Hoogland off and Tőzsér on. Revert to 3-3-1-3.
--------------Adler----------------
---Howedes----Djourou----Izaguirre---
---Fuchs-----Capoue-----Tőzsér------
---Zaha-----Mandzukic-----Donovan---
If winning after 65 minutes, Yilmaz off and Tőzsér on. Revert to 4-1-4-1
--------------Adler----------------
-Hoogland--Howedes--Djourou--Izaguirre-
--------------Capoue--------------
--Fuchs--- Dzagoev ----Tőzsér---Zaha--
------------Mandzukic-------------
Keep the ball moving around, let them pass it in their own half and clamp down on them as soon as they enter our half. Look to get on the counter whenever possible.

If still winning after 80 mins, Hoogland off and Metzelder on. Djourou goes to RB and Metzelder to CB.

Season 2 Gameweek 2- VALENCIA vs Roma

Injuries- Bruno Saltor,Denilson,Fernando Belluschi

From The Manager

We picked up a great point last week against the ever improving Juventus, away from Home.
Today we play Roma who got a huge 4-0 win against a good Schalke Team. I am expecting this to be a tough game, but one we could win if we go out there and play the way I know you all can.
Come On Valencia

Team Sheet 4-4-2

-------------------------Gomes-----------------------------
-----Valera-----Dealbert-------Natali-----Heinze-----
-----Pienaar-----Albelda (C)--------Jurado---Hoilett
----------------Kanoute-----------Borges----------------

Subs- Bracali, Vitor,Bristo, Duda, Apono,Pacheco,Hoarau

Goal Keeper Tactics
Be vocal and organise your defence, make yourself look big and try to catch every ball you have the chance too. Use your agility to make good diving saves, but at all costs try and catch the ball and throw the ball or kick the ball out as quick as possible. If you have a struggle with no defenders being around get to the ball if in your area and kick it out into the stands if possible as this cuts out any threat from there strikers being able to get on the end of it and possibly scoring.
Before Kicking Wait for everyone to get in position, aim to get the ball as far up field as possible to start an attack. If possible play it out to one of the wingers who can then make a run towards the edge of the box and put in a cross to our strikers
Talk to your defence and tell them where you want them

Defence Tactics
Stay as Tight to your men at all times, don’t do anything stupid that will upset things by giving away penalties and possible sending offs. We can not afford to go a man down against this impressive team..
Keep an eye for any possible breakaways by the oppostition, and put a stop to them before they get to the goal.
Talk to eachother say what balls you are going for, LB and RB try to make some overlapping runs with the wingers.

Midfield Tactics
Pass the ball around, quickly and get the ball towards the opposition goal and away from ours. Wide men are to use there pace to get round the opponents LB and RB, Cross the ball in as early as possible and as accurate as possible, as we have a good chance of getting headed goals this year with the extra height in the box, something we were lacking last season.
Keep an eye for any breaks and counter attacks from the opposition before they get anywhere near our defence. Make sure you win any tackles, fairly and cleanly

Be vocal talk to each other at all times. Good week last week with you both picking up goals, try and do the same this week

Corners

Defending Corners
Dealbert and Pienaar will stand on each post. Hoilett and Borges will stay the furthest up field with Borges waiting on the half way line and Hoilett playing just on the edge of the centre circle in the attacking half of the pitch waiting to set up any counter attack. Man Marking in the box is to be used at all corners for the opposing team. Gomes if you can catch the ball shout for it and catch it, then play the ball upfield as quick as you can to one of the players in the attacking half. Stay as close to your man as possible, but be careful not to foul anyone, as that will mean giving away a possible penalty and being a man down

Attacking Corners
Centre backs are to come up into the penalty area, with the left back and right back the left back on the half way line to stop any possible counter attack by Roma. Albelda is to stand on the edge of the area where if the ball comes out to him he is to take a shot or to get the ball back into the area quickly. A double bounce of the ball before it being placed will signal a crossed ball into the box, a single bounce will signal the ball going to the edge of the area. Those left back always keep alert

Corner takers
Left- Hoilett
Right- Pienaar

Free Kicks/Penalties

Defending Free Kicks
We will use a 5 man wall to the opposite side the kick is being taken from on the side the free kick is being taken from will be a smaller 2 man wall which will also be positioned slightly further back , these walls will be made up of, the 4 defenders and the right Midfielder and the two central defenders. This Leaves us Hoilett who will stand on the edge of the Centre Circle on our defensive half, and the two strikers, who will stand just inside the centre circle. This is so if a break away is on we have the chance to make something of it.

Our Free Kicks in Defensive Areas
Gomes will take all free kicks in defensive areas upto the half way line
Defenders watch for any miss kicks as these can be fatal if they leave players forward to attack and can easily lead to a goal agaist us. All other players head for the attacking half. So that we have some attacking options

Our Free Kicks in Attacking Areas
Pienaar will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Hoilett will take over.Aim for heads of our taller players

Penalties
Taker- Kanoute
When we take penalties all 4 defenders are to move to the half way line with the rest of the team standing on the edge of the box. Be careful not to encroach into the box

Subs

If Loseing
60mins On Pacheco, Off Albelda- Change to 4-3-1-2 Formation with Pacheco playing behind the front 2
70mins -On Duda, Off Pienaar- gives us more width to our play

If winning
70mins-On Apono ,Off Hoillett- To give us more defensive bite in midfield
80mins- On Bristo, Off Kanoute-Change to 5-3-1-1 Formation

Valencia vs ROMA

Stekelenburg
Gonul---Kjaer---Alex---Maxwell
Montolivo---Martinez
Marin----Valbuena----Podolski
Milito

Subs
Lobont
Juan
Aquilani
Lucas
Lamela
Elia
Vucinic

Injured players
Kaboul
Osvaldo
Soriano
Gonzalez

Freekick 26 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 25 yards or less: Valbuena/Marin
Corner left: Valbuena
Corner right: Marin
Penalty: Milito

General play: I've got the team to be combatative and also play Football, we'll be looking to get through the wide positions aswell as the centre. When we are defending we do not always look to make a tackle but hold our position and close/reduce the chances of a pass forward.

Stekelenburg always communitcate with the defenders, make yourself look big stand up for as long as you can making the goal look smaller. When they put crosses in only come out if you can catch them the only time to punch them if the ball comes into the 6 yard box. Look to throw the ball to the wingers quickly to start counters.

Gonul the priority is too stop thier winger, jockey the winger and close down the room for him to run into, push him away onto his weaker foot or away from the goal. Try to keep him on the outside and if he does come inside Montolivo will be there to glose the danger. When going forward run with the ball pass and continue your run to give width to get crosses in.

Kjaer is our ball playing defender, look to netrualise the opposition by standing in positions which reduce the chances of them getting a pass, make interceptions. You will pick up thier second striker or AM, don't get too tight but enough to stop them getting passed.

Alex play as the tackler, pick up thier main striker use your strength and size to compete. Put yourself in but don't go in hasty watch your tackles. Keep a decent line not too high or deep, work with Kjaer both compliment each other.

Maxwell will have more license to attack, get down the wing and give support to Podolski pin thier wingers back and make them defend. When you get the ball look for the late runners into the box or put in crosses. When defending watch the ball, don't put a tackle in dangerous positions, watch your runner.

Montolivo is the creator of our team, I want him to pull the strings in midfield, look to slow or quiken the game, always demand the ball andkeep it moving we do not want to be static. Look for Marin making runs behind the fullbacks or look for Valbuena trying to find pockets in the attacking third. Work with Martinez as our defensive unit and help to defend.

Martinez will play more of a DM who puts in the tackle, put pressure on to thier players close them down, make them hurry with thier passes. Help relieve the pressure of our CB's I don't want you pushing up play a displined game with simple passes and hold your position.

Podolski will look to cut in and get into the box link up with Milito and get chances in the box. Maxwell will be giving us width from wide so you have the liscnece to cut inside shoot, pass and continue your runs. Make runs beyond Milito who will look to knock the ball on and continue your good scoring record. Help our fullback when you can I am not expecting box to box as that is unreal we also have Martinez who can cover.

Marin use the width of the pitch and get crosses in, consistenetly for our attacking players, use skill and trick to get passed your man but don't over do it we want to see balls come in to the box. You will have Gonul overlapping you at times so use him. Work with Gonul to defend when thier fullback pushes up.

Valbuena is our attacking player and will generally play in the last third making runs behind Milito getting into wide positions dragging players out of position running with the ball and off ball movements. Get into those little pockets finding room to create something for yourself or teammates. Be brave call for the ball make something happen for us, if you have the room to shoot then get a shot in Milito watch out for rebounds or spilt balls.

Milito is the main focus upfront, always stay on the move don't give the defenders time to settle make. Knock the ball on with your head we will have players making runs behind you. When we are running with the ball make runs behind the opposition defenders, be aware of Gonul putting in early crosses for you, make those last second runs near/far post take the gamble get infront of your man.

SUB 65 MIN
Marin offElia on (Fresh legs with pace)

SUB 75 MIN IF LOSING
Martinez off Vucinic on (We play 4-4-2)

SUB 75 MIN IF WINNING

Juve v Leverkusen

Injuries: Ramsey, Gallas, van Buyten
Captain: Hangeland
Formation: 4-1-4-1
Giefer
Jung Hangeland Kone Filipe
Matuidi
Gourcuff -- Holtby
Granero ------------- Remy
Gamerio

Subs: Leno, Schwaab, Muniesa. Miyaichi, Giroud, Ortega, Jorgenson

Managers Note: 2 games, 2 wins. Great stuff, but it’s our first test away from home so we’ve gotta be on our toes. Juve have a good strikeforce but we can nulify that. I want to see simple, passing football. Knock it about and keep possession. Create chances and have a go. We’ve scored enough to prove we can do that. This Juve side is there to be taken and we can do it. Lets make a statement of intent in this league. 100% commitment at all times. Plenty of talking as well lads, communication is the key, let your teammates know when you’re in space.

GK: – Be vocal to the backline, make them aware of exactly what you want them to do in regards to set pieces and pushing up. Be on your toes for any shots from outside the box to test you, Juve will push their luck from distance. Try to distribute quickly.

Full Backs: - Seb and Filipe, use your pace to get forward and support the build up play. Don’t drift too far and look to create space at every oppurtunity. Be strong in the tackle, but don’t dive in or ball watch. Shackle them.

CBs: Hangeland and Kone – Debut for you Bakary, I know you’ll fill the gap easily. Both of you, chances are they are going with Huntelaar and Lisandro, so you’ll need to be on your toes. Go zonal marking on the 2 of them, not too tight, but as soon as they are goal side you pressure them, make them take the ball away from the goal. Talk to the full backs, watch your line and keep it tight.

DM: Matuidi – Blaise, you’re my quarterback today. Lewis has better strength going forward so I want you to play the enforcer. Break up the play and frustrate the Juventus midfield. They will want to get the ball down and through to the strikers. Don’t let them. When you’ve got possession, in full QB style bring the players in but don’t always pick the easy plays. Hit the space and talk to the midfield.

CM: Holtby & Gourcuff – Lewis, I’m putting you slightly more advance than the DM role last week. I want you to make yourself big and use your creative instincts to bring the wingers into play. Rotate the advance support tole with Yoann.

Yoann, 2 games, 2 goals, perfect. It’s exactly what I want from you. Be creative, intelligent movement and plenty of chasing.

Wings: Remy & Granero: – Use your speed to the advantage today and be ready to explode past the FB to latch onto balls threaded through when space has been created. I want you switching sides so their full backs are gonna need radar to keep track of your movement. Exploit any gaps that are created and make space. Run with the ball and look to play Kevin in. I don’t want you neglecting your defensive duties. Loic, debut game, head on, no pressure, show us what you’re made of.

Midfield: - I wanna see one touch passing in tight spaces, and plenty of movement, but don’t forget your duites. When we’re on the back foot I wanna see a bank of 5 across that midfield and plenty of commitment. When we’re going forward we build up sensibly, if we break, break at speed.

ST: Gameiro - Kevin, 3 in 2, perfect. Keep it up, watch your movement and take your chances, if this plays out properly you’ll get plenty. Talk to your wingers and tell them where you want it.

Subs:

70 MINS: Granero for Miyaichi – Ryu to move to the left and we go 4-4-2 with Remy upfront with Gamerio
80 mins: Remy for Giroud

Free Kicks: Loic and Yoann
Corners: Esteban and Lewis
Pens: Gamierio

Season 2, Gameweek 3- Schalke vs VALENCIA

Injuries- Cristian Sapunaru,Steven Pienaar,Duda

From The Manager- Well Played Last week, An excellent result albeit a loss against perhaps the best team in the league.
Another tough Game this week Away from home, our aim is to keep them quiet and limit the amount of chances they get aswell as creating more chances for ourselves.
What I saw last week I was very impressed with, our attacking play was right up there with them and that is what I want to see again this week
We just need to counter act the oppositions attacking play in coming weeks and I’m sure the results will come in our favour.
I have bought in the young lad Isco, to give him some game time and to Cover the Injuries to Duda and Pienaar. So keep up his confidence, he may make the odd mistake but this is unlikely but is always a possibility,
COME ON VALENCIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team Sheet- 4-4-2

Counter Acting the Oppositions Attacking Play
Don’t be Afraid to make a tackle, win the ball cleanly and fairly and get the ball up field as quick as possible, whether this be through the centre of Midfield or by way of our 2 wingers. If you have to take a yellow card then do so. We need to stop there attacking play as they are very very dangerous if given the chance.
Keep Tight to ,make it hard for them to play the ball around, chase every ball down.

Matchday 3
EVERTON v Juventus

Injuries: Antonio Lopez, Coutinho, Diego Buonanotte

Starting XI;
1. David Ospina, 3. Reto Ziegler, 4. Seydou Keita (C), 6. Ezequiel Garay, 7. Nicolas Gaitan, 8. Moussa Sissoko, 12. Jesus Gamez Duarte, 17. Niko Kranjcar, 21. Eren Derdiyok, 23. Martin Demichelis, 24. Juan Iturbe, 30. Jordan Rhodes

Subs: 2. Alessandro Crescenzi, 5. Joseph Yobo, 16. Souleymane Coulibaly, 22. Brek Shea, 25. Pablo Aimar, 29. Nicolas Douchez, 30. Jordan Rhodes

(4-2-3-1)

---------------Ospina--------------
Duarte - Garay - Demichelis - Ziegler
------------Sissoko - Keita-------------
------Iturbe - Kranjcar - Gaitan-----
---------------Derdiyok-------------

Captain: Keita, Long range free kicks: Keita, Short range free kicks: Gaitan, Corners: Gaitan, Penalties: Derdiyok

Sissoko to man-mark Huntelaar, follow him everywhere, regardless of the situation.

Today we are up against a Juventus side playing well at the moment. They like to play an attacking 4-4-2 formation, but they overcommit with their wingers so we will be looking to take advantage of that. It will be the responsibility of Gaitan and Iturbe to make the most of the space in between the full backs and the wingers, use it to get into possession and run at the Juventus defence.

We continue with the same goalkeeper, back four and defensive midfield two as last week. Continuity is key. The centre backs will be up against Lisandro Lopez and Klass-Jan Huntelaar. They are both world class strikers but I expect Garay and Demichelis to deal with Lopez while I am employing Moussa Sissoko to Man Mark Huntelaar. Make it impossible for him to breath, let alone get possession.

The full backs are the Swiss international Reto Ziegler, and the Spaniard Jesus Gamez Duarte. The task of these two men will not only be to primarily stop the threat from out wide from Juventus, namely Barnetta and Malouda, but to provide an overlap to the attack, Ziegler to support the left winger and Duarte to support the right winger. When either of these two are out of position, Seydou Keita as the other defensive midfielder will step in to ensure we don't get caught out on the counter attack. When not in possession, Keita will assist whichever full back needs helping, only one winger at a time will have possession so there's no chance of Keita being needed elsewhere.

Our attacking midfield three is the highly rated Juan Iturbe, the underrated Niko Kranjcar, and our record signing, Argentine international Nicolas Gaitan. These three will be lined up in their positions, but all three have the ability and the knowhow to interchange at any time, always keeping the back four of Juventus guessing, and creating plenty of space for us to shoot. One of the tasks of these three men is to pull Papadopoulos out of position, as he can be a bit naive. Lure him forward towards you, and if he follows, pass into the gap where one of your teammates will be making a run, and if they back off, shoot.

Setpieces will be an alternative threat for us, they have their centre backs but not much else, we have Derdiyok but also our defensive pairing of Garay and Demichelis who are threats in the air, with expert delivery from Gaitan.

Our striker is new signing Eren Derdiyok. He will be on the receiving end of crosses from the full backs, and from passes from the attacking midfield. Jordan Rhodes played well last week but aside from scoring he wasn't able to get behind the Schalke defense too frequently last week so we are trying something different. Derdiyok will be making runs in between the two defenders, shooting on sight, and making the most of the through passes from midfield. Derdiyok can also be a man who holds up possession, allowing the midfield to support him from deep.

Jordan Rhodes is on the bench but will make an appearance regardless, Rhodes scored the winner on his debut last week and if we are losing he will partner Derdiyok, if not he will replace Derdiyok. Rhodes's job would be to get himself onto the end of crosses as he does best, but also to make runs when we are in possession, to either make the defender follow him and create space for the midfielder, or if the defender goes to the ball, Rhodes would be an option in on goal.

Subs:

65 mins (if losing): Rhodes on, Sissoko off. Rhodes partners Derdiyok and formation changes from 4-2-3-1 to 4-1-3-2.

65 mins (if winning or drawing): Rhodes on, Derdiyok off. Fresh legs, pace to burn and loads of strength to outmuscle defenders and create opportunities.

65 mins: Shea on, Gaitan off. Young pacy winger on against tiring full backs. Beat the man, get crosses in.

70 mins (if winning): Aimar on, Kranjcar off. Aimar stays central of the three, also can drop in alongside the two defensive midfielders to make a 4-3-2-1 formation when we're out of possession. Close the game out with controlled and accurate passing.

Manager's final word: Listen lads, we were great last week and got our first win of the season, but we know how good Juventus can be. Once again we're in front of 40,000 screaming Evertonians and we want to unsettle the Juventus players. We had the right workrate last week and I want you to replicate that again this week. Lets get out there and get another win on the board.

GOALKEEPER: Gonna be a tough day for ya boruc....expect a lot to do, however once again, command your box, only punch when neccessary, and roll the ball out to the full backs.

FULLBACKS: Fucile+sandro: The ball will be rolled to you, keep the ball on the floor, get forward and support the wingers, however remeber that you are defenders and that, that is your main role. Make sure you tuck inside when you need to, and dont let the wingers past you

CENTRE BACKS: Padapolous+Camporese: Padapolous, you know the drill. Stay strong at the back, make sure your powerful in the air, and dont be second to the aerial ball. Man-mark a striker, and dont allow him posesssion or to turn and shoot. Camporese, your first start of the season, chance to stamp your authrotiy in the side. Man-mark a striker, and stay tight to him

DEFENSIVE MIDFEILD: Parker + Ballack: Parker be strong in the tackles, and make sure you win the ball. Pass the ball to the wingers and make sure you sit back whilst ballack attacks. Ballack due to injuries slightly out of position, however a class player, can play anywhere. You can get forward and support the front two, but remeber to help scotty out, further back.

WINGERS: Honda + Malouda: You are to offer the width, get the balls into rhe box for the front two. Howevert you can tuck inside, and dont let the full backs past you. Make sure you help out our full backs defensively wise, and make sure you dont give posession away easily. Shoot from range

STRIKERS: Lisandro + Huntelaar. Very good strikers, get in the box, for the crosses, and get on the end of them. Huntelaar, can collect the ball from the midfield two and run at the CB;'S with it. Also collect the ball from lopez and make sure that you shoot from range. Lopez shoot from range.

SUBS: Wilson for Fucile 60mins
Marcelo for Ballack 65mins
Polo for Huntelaar 85mins

Roma vs Leverkusen

Stekelenburg
Gonul----Kaboul----Kjaer----Radu
Valbuena--Martinez--Aquilani--Elia
Milito---Podolski

Formation:
4-4-2

Subs:
Lobont
Alex
Lamela
Gonzalez
Vucinic
Lucas
Osvaldo

Injured players:
José Ángel
Riccardo Montolivo
Marko Marin
Midweek Injury: Maxwell

Freekick 26 yards or more: Aquilani
Freekick 25 yards or less: Aquilani/Valbuena
Corner right: Elia
Corner left: Valbuena
Penalty: Milito
Defending corners: Man marking system our big players mark thier big players

General: Let Bayer pass the ball in thier own half but when they come to ours we pressure them, second half we will press them furthur up. Get our wingers into the game early, make passes behind the fullback for them to run out, CM will look to dicatate the play pass the ball around get forward. Be aware of early crosses Milito and also that thier keeper likes to release the ball early try to take it off them.

Stekelenburg make yourself as big as possible close down the angle for them stand your ground as long as possible. Always communicate with the defence, any balls in your 6 yard claim them other balls let the defence deal with them or if you can catch it then do so, try to claim rather then punch but if under pressure then punch it.

Gonul the aim is to defend first attack later, watch the ball don't dive in jockey them push him away from goal or onto his weaker foot if he does come inside one of the CM will be instructed to close down that area blocking it so he can't go inside. When going forward make overlapping runs put in early crosses less time for the defence to prepare and Milito will be instructed to make runs.

Gone with quick CBs today, Kaboul has the right attributes, quick, strong and calm I want him pick up thier main striker, stand up tall don't make rash challenges you can shepard him away using your experience. Be strong but fair in your challengesif its a shoulder barge or tackle. Don't get too tight so he can spin you keep a right balance. Keep it simple no fancy passes go up for corners. Only one FB will push up.

Kjaer is the ball player CB, I want you to bring the ball forward look for wingers or strikers get the attacks moving for us from there if we can't in midfield. Pick up any AM/SS drop back a little read the game from there so you know if to put a tackle or hold your position. Don't be dragged out of position if thier strikers want to go walkies let them someone else will pick them up. GO up for corners.

Radu the aim is to defend first attack later, watch the ball don't dive in jockey them push him away from goal or onto his weaker foot if he does come inside one of the CM will be instructed to close down that area blocking it so he can't go inside. When going forward make overlapping runs put in early crosses less time for the defence to prepare and Milito will be instructed to make runs.

I want my defenders to keep thier position and not dragged out giving them space behind or pockets to get into.

Elia has to use the width of the pitch hug the touchline and get the crosses in for us cross shots, near/far post floaters inswingers, Elia has a lot of pace and can beat a man with the ball or off ball movements. Make runs behind thier FB our CM will be looking to exploit the space behind him so you can latch onto the ball. Keep the ball close to your feet and if you get passed the FB extend your legs and run. Always track thier FB when he pushes up helping our defenders.

Valbuena I want you to switch it up use the width and also come inside centrally to get players into the attack or get a shot in. When out wide get the crosses in for our strikers also look to take the FB on and get inside the box use your small stature giving you the low centre of gravity and ability to twist and turn him then compose yourself to pick our a pass or a cross shot. When coming centrally run forward with the ball make a pass and continue forward if you have the chance to get a shot then shoot if it's worth it.

Martinez will play as a unit with Aquilani both will work to defend and attack together. Martinez will play more defensive, putting pressure on the opposition attackers, closing down the space giving them no time to settle on the ball and don't let them get thier passes. At times Martinez is better of standing his ground jocking the attacker, shadow marking holding them off and reducing the chances of them getting a pass into danger zone. WHen you on the ball pass it to a teammate nothing too special just get the ball moving again for us. Take turns with Aquilani to push forward.

Aquilani is the playmaker of our team, drop deep to get the ball and spray passes, get the ball moving passing it around quicken/slown the tempo. Always make yourself available for a pass, get the team forward with your passes, look for Elia making runs behind thier defenders. Help Martinez to defend stand your ground you don't need to go sliding in, watch the runners follow them give them no time be aware of your surrondings. When going forward look to play in our striker slip the ball between thier defence and keeper, use your passing ability to create openings and space.

Milito will be the main striker off the team, holding the ball up passing it and always moving into the box or danger zones to get a chance. Look to flick the ball on for Podolski or Valbuena who will run passed you, be aware of Aquilani looking to pass you, you don't have to do any thing special get the ball pass it and move, always stay on the go don't allow the defenders to rest switch between them. Gonul/Radu will put in early crosses for you be aware of them. Make those last second runs switching between posts gambling infront of the defender taking that chance which may lead toa goal.

Podolski will play off Milito make runs beyond him, find those little pockets to create something make runs in the attacking third taking defenders with you. Go out wide to get the ball run with the ball, try to make something happen there. Get forward with Milito our midfielders will be looking to play you in, cause problems for the defenders don't give them time to mark you. You have a good shot so if you do have the chance pop one. Link up with the midfielders so the crossing between the midfield and attack is fluid as possible. I assuming Matudi will be playing and will play as thier playmaker starting moves off, when he gets the ball I want Podolski to close him down push him backwards do not allow him to start moves for them, I feel this will slow down thier attacking game.

Subsitution

65 MIN SUB
Elia off Vucinic on (Gives us fresh legs)

75 MIN SUB IF LOSING
Aquilani off Lamela on (Attacking midfielder on)

75 MIN SUB IF WINNING
Podolski off Lucas on (Defensive midfielder on)

83 MIN SUB IF LOSING
Milito off Osvaldo on (Change of striker)

85 MIN SUB IF WINNING
Valbuena off Gonzalez on (More bite and energy in midfield)

SCHALKE v Valencia

Line up:
--------------Adler----------------
-Uchida--Howedes--Metzelder--Izaguirre-
----------Capoue----Adam----------
---Dzagoev-----Witsel-----Donovan---
------------Mandzukic-------------
Subs: Duffy, Hoogland, Tőzsér, Yilmaz, Zaha, Kenia, Leitner
Injured: Fuchs + Bojan
Captain: BBB
Penalties: Mandzukic
Other set pieces: Charlie Adam

Overview: We’ve been leaking goals recently so I’ve had to adjust the formation slightly but don’t think I’m not going for the win here. Pass and move with relentless pressure when Valencia have the ball.
Player Tactics:
Adler: You know, the usual. Big, strong, brave, organise the defence at set plays. Catch what you can and don’t punch. If in doubt, send the ball into the stratosphere. If we’re losing and have a corner deep into injury time, you may come up for it. Set the counter attack going.
Uchida + Izaguirre: Get forward a bit more during this match but don’t neglect defensive duties and leave the CB’s exposed. Only one of you goes forward at a time but I want to see us attacking mostly down the left (about 60% of the time) as we have more pace on that side and Donovan knows how to cross the ball excellently. Stay back when we have a corner, ready to defend the counter attack.
BBB and Metzelder: The CB partnership mainly used last season so you know how to work with each other well. If Valencia play one striker the BBB marks him and Metzelder mops up or if they play 2 strikers then man mark each one. You’ll probably be up against Pacheco who is tricksy but I think you can easily outmuscle him. Come up for corners but get back as soon as possible.
Capoue: I want you to be a presence in midfield. You can take care of all defensive duties which will allow Adam to get forward without being too worried about what’s going on behind him. Whichever FB is attacking, I expect you to cover that area of the pitch. Also, keep their AM quiet and provide cover to the CB’s when the opposition are attacking. A lot to do, but you can do it.

Adam: With Capoue being the defensive presence in midfield that gives you a chance to get forward which I want you to take. As the playmaker, you are the heartbeat of the team. They may well have a man marking you so get the ball moving quickly so he doesn’t have a chance to close you down. Get the ball out to the wingers who will attack their defence directly or further up field to Witsel. Or, alternatively, you can play the long ball in behind the defence for Mandzukic to latch on to.
Dzagoev: Attack the full back and occasionally cut inside. Have shots on goal when possible or cross it into Mandzukic. Try to track back when we have to defend a counter attack and provide cover to Uchida.
Witsel: I want to see you playing behind the stiker in an AM role. Get the ball out to the wingers or go forward and play Mandzukic in. Don’t be complacent and give the ball away, keep it (or yourself with it) moving.
Donovan: Attack the Valencia defence and get balls to Mandzukic whenever possible. Alternatively, have a go from range (or close up) yourself. Work with Izaguirre (who may overlap you) to get by their defence.
Mandzukic: Stay up front at all times. Look for crosses from the wings, passes along the ground or high balls from behind you from your teammates. Try to get on the end of everything and please take the chances when they come.

WEEK 4 TACTICS....JUVENTUS VS schalke

------------------------Vercoutre------------------------

----Fucile------Padapolous----Bonucci---------Sandro---

----Barnetta-----Parker--------Veloso--------------Malouda----

-------------------Huntelaar--------------Gilardino--------------------

Captain: Scott Parker
Injuries: Marcelo,Lopez,Boruc
Subs: Camporese,Cicinho,Wilson,Perrotta,Ballack,Iaquinta,Polo

GOALKEEPER: First start of the season for Vercoutre..time for you to prove your critics wrong, only punch when neccessary, show confidence and make sure you roll the ball out to the full backs, so we can start playing from the back.

FULLBACKS: Fucile+sandro: only get forward on odd occasions when the opportunity is there...make sure you dont allow the schalke wingers to get past you, jockey them and only slide in when neccessary. Keep the ball on the floor and get it forward to the wingers.

CENTREBACKS: Padapolous+Bonucci.....You guys have played well together at the back.....you know the drill. Win the ball in the air, dont allow the forwards to get past you..if schalke play two up top, then each man mark a player, if they only play one up top, then Padapolous hold off and cover Bonucci who will mark a player.

WINGERS: Barnetta + Malouda. Offer width and get balls into the box. The ball will be played to you on the floor, and thus you should be able to beat the schalke full backs...shoot from range, and also remeber to help out the full backs when it comes to defending.

CENTRE MIDFIELDERS:Parker + Veloso: Both protect the back four. Sit in and dont allow the schalke midfield to dominate. Be strong in the tackle and win the ball at all costs..when you have the ball play to the wingers and keep it on the floor.

STRIKERS: Huntelaar + Gilardino: you both score goals for fun...get in the box to get on the end of the winger's crosses..both shoot from range and put the schalke CB;S under pressure with your physical presence

SUBS; Camporese for Bonucci: 55mins
Ballack for Veloso: 75mins
Polo for Gilardino: 80mins

Season 2 Gameweek 4-Leverkusen vs VALENCIA
Injuries- Francesco Totti,Apono,Dani Pacheco
Midweek Injury: Hoilett

From The Manager
Well, where do I start a disappointing week, we struggled in the cup and had a close fought lose in the league.
We Need to begin seeing an improvement this week and begin pushing ourselves up the league. To do this we are going to need to attack as much as possible and help everyone out.
I believe that you are all good players infact some of the best this league has to offer, but thus far we have struggled to show this
We have 3 regulrs in our matchday squad today, but i'am sure whoever I pick to fill these voids will do a very good job for the team
THe Season Starts now
COME ON VALENCIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team Sheet- 4-4-2

-------------------------Gomes-----------------------------
-----Valera-----Dealbert-------Natali-----Heinze-----
-----Pienaar-----Albelda (C)--------Jurado---Duda
----------------Kanoute-----------Borges----------------

Subs- Bracali, Vitor,Bristo, Isco,Denilson ,Rodriguez,Hoarau

Make sure you win any tackles, fairly and cleanly. Attack down the wings as much as possible!

Be vocal talk to each other at all times. Good week last week with you both picking up goals, try and do the same this week.
Chase down any dropped balls or back passes. be aware of positioning at all time, play on the shoulder of the centre defenders.

Corners

Defending Corners
Dealbert and Pienaar will stand on each post. Duda and Borges will stay the furthest up field with Borges waiting on the half way line and Duda playing just on the edge of the centre circle in the attacking half of the pitch waiting to set up any counter attack.

Left- Duda

Albelda will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Pienaar will take over.Aim for heads of our taller players or Hoilett if you have a sight on goal take the shot.

Penalties
Taker- Kanoute
When we take penalties all 4 defenders are to move to the half way line with the rest of the team standing on the edge of the box. Be careful not to encroach into the box

Subs

If Loseing
60mins On Hoarou, Off Albelda- Change to 4-3-3 Formation with Hoarou joining the strikers

If winning
70mins-On Denilson ,Off Duda- To give us more defensive bite in midfield
80mins- On Vitor, Off Kanoute-Change to 5-4-1 Formation

LEVERKUSEN v Valencia (h)

Injuries: William Gallas, Sebastien Jung, Esteban Granero

Formation: 4-2-3-1 Attacking

Giefer

Schwaab Kone Hangeland Filipe

Toulalan

Matuidi Ramsey
Gourcuff ---------- Remy

Gameiro

Subs Leno, Miyaichi, Van Buyten, Giroud, Holtby, Muniesa, Saha

Managers Note

Afternoon. Lets keep our philosophy simple. Play the game as we all know we can play. Play intelligent football. Use the space and manipulate it to your advantage. Don’t be afraid to have a go and if things aren’t going right, use your initiative to bring others into the game to relieve pressure. Valencia will be set up similar to how they were in the Cup, and we’ve got home advantage, let’s make it count.

Free Kicks: Remy and Gourcuff
Captain Aaron Ramsey

Tactics

Keeper: Be strong and commanding. Dominate the box and organise. Look to release the ball early to the wingers. Talk to your defence, don’t let them drift and keep it tight.

Full backs: Don’t drift too far up the pitch. Allow the DM’s and wings to dictate the play but support them when required. Watch the line and expected the unexpected. They will come at you and mix things up. Keep your heads and lead by example. Keep an eye on Jeremy, expect him to be dropping in to collect the ball.

Centre Backs: Dominate in the air but don’t foul. Keep an eye on your marking. Don’t get too tight.. Play a tight line and talk to your wing backs. Don’t let the Jeremy drop too far back; push him up to boss play in the middle of the park with Aaron and Blaise. Pass the ball out where you can and look to the wings.

Aaron & Blaise: Simple football, work the triangles and bring the winger in to play at every opportunity. Aaron, push forward to support on attacks, Blaise, break up play and make yourself seen, I want you both at your creative best, we should easily dominate this midfield battle.

Yoann & Loic: Hug the touchine and drift. Don’t let their fullbacks get too comfy around you. Mix it up, but importantly run at their backline. I want to see you switching sides and running them ragged. Don’t neglect your defensive duties, I want to hunt in packs, we break as a 5, we defend as a 5.

Kevin: Lone frontman. You’re used to it. Make yourself an aerial target but be intelligent, make room for the wings to cut inside if it creates space and chances. Prowl the penalty box when we’re on the attack deep in their half.

Team:

Plenty of communication and support for your team mates. I wanna see you run this team ragged. Their stirkeforce is nothing we can’t handle; Kanoute just needs to be kept tight and watched. They have no Hoillett, no Totti and no Pachecho, which means they will lack serious creativity. DO NOT GET COMPLACENT, watch for any sloppy passes as they will try to break. Keep pressuring them. They won’t like it if we keep the heat on them and pin them in their own half. They will be using the wings to attack so lets cut them off and keep things simple.

Subs

70: Toulalan for Holtby

~ Matuidi to drop into QB role.

80: Gourcuff for Miyaichi

~ Miyaich to stay on the right, no switching

80: Gameiro for Giroud

Matchday 4
Roma v EVERTON
Injuries: Paco Alcacer, Marcos Senna, Niko Kranjcar

Starting XI: (5-2-2-1)
Ospina
Duarte - Garay - Yobo - Demichelis - Ziegler
Keita - Sissoko
Coutinho - Afellay
Derdiyok

Joseph Yobo man marking Lucas Podolski

Subs: Butland, Toprak, Airton, Aimar, Shea, Iturbe, Rhodes

Despite 2 wins in a row in our last 2 league games, we go into today's game with a plan to earn a result. Roma are virtually unplayable at home and we have to be sensible, so we go into the game with a surprisingly defensive approach. Our 4-2-3-1 system is somewhat defensive at the best of times, but we have gone for 5 at the back today to combat Roma's 4-2-3-1 formation and attacking threat.

David Ospina retains his place in goal after a very solid start to the season, he will command his area as he has done very well so far this season, but he must be prepared for the bombardment of shots from long range.

Our strong centre back pairing of Garay and Demichelis is now even stronger with the addition of Joseph Yobo alongside them as three CB's. The addition of an extra centre back is part of the plans to stifle the attacking threat from Roma.

Yobo will be man marking Podolski. Yobo's task is to stop Podolski from doing his job. Podolski will be expected to make runs, drop deep, win headers and hold up possession. Yobo's job will be to stick to him like glue, reading the play properly and winning headers as the ball is played in high to Podolski. This should limit the amount of times the Attacking Midfielders of Roma get into dangerous areas.

Garay and Demichelis will stay in their defensive roles, not being lured further forward by the Attacking Midfielders. We know Vucinic, Valbuena and Marin will be making runs from midfield, and we know the full backs Maxwell and Gonul will also be making runs and overlapping. To deal with this, we have Ziegler and Duarte who are both supported by the Defensive Midfielders in Sissoko and Keita, with Garay and Demichelis behind them. Essentially we will have 7 solid defensive players to cope with the, at most, 6 players attacking from Roma.

When in possession at the back, we will stop short of playing the long ball, but we will aim to play long passes. Coutinho and Afellay will be receiving the ball and making runs behind the Defensive Midfielders of Montolivo and Martinez. The aim will be to get into space, pass the ball back and forth to each other in Martinez is closing you down, and get into areas where you can either shoot at goal or pass to Derdiyok. Failing that, retain possession. We cannot afford to lose possession cheaply as based on our formation, losing possession easily will just encourage Roma to attack repeatedly, if we hold onto possession with Coutinho and Afellay then it gives our defensive players a break.

Derdiyok will have a long shift ahead of him, his job today will be to wait with the centre backs, almost marking them. When the ball is passed to him from Coutinho or Afellay, he will hold up possession and look for either of those two to make runs or find space, failing that roll the defender and get a shot in. When the ball is occasionally hit long towards Derdiyok, he will be against Kjaer and Alex and be doing his best to win headers, hold up possession and get in behind the pair.

Subs:
60 mins: (If losing) - Iturbe on, Sissoko off. Iturbe joins Coutinho and Afellay as Attacking Midfielders, changing the formation from 5-2-2-1 to 5-1-3-1.

70 mins: (If losing) - Rhodes on, Yobo off. Rhodes partners Derdiyok and we go for it with a 4-1-3-2 formation, while making sure we keep our back 4 and Keita in position to prevent being caught out on the counter attack.

70 mins: (If drawing or winning) - Afellay off, Shea on. Shea with fresh legs and bags of pace will be able to receive the ball and run at defenders, as well as pass and shoot and make runs in behind if necessary.

70 mins: (If drawing or winning) - Rhodes on, Derdiyok off. Rhodes takes the place of Derdiyok and continues with the same gameplan. Rhodes will be receiving the ball to feet and trying to turn and shoot or lay the ball off to the Attacking Midfielders providing support.

75 mins: (If winning) - Airton on, Afellay off. Airton will be an extra Defensive Midfielder, an extra body to prevent Roma from pushing on and making sure we don't leave any gaps for Roma to penetrate. Our formation will change from 5-2-2-1 to 5-3-1-1.

Manager's final word: We were excellent against Juventus last week, but we are taking a very different approach here. Roma are a very fluent and very attacking side, especially at home. We have a gameplan that if successful, will see us leave Rome with a point as a minimum. Every single player will have to give 100% and cut out any basic errors to make this work, but I feel with the confidence we have from our last two wins, and with the continuity we have with our goalkeeper, defence and defensive midfield, we can see this through and come away with a result.

General:
We feel the weak point of the Everton side is the lack of pace from the CB's we will look to exploit that by passing through balls between them and getting Valbuena to make runs passed them or to run at them. Lets use the width of the pitch to attack aswell the centre at times we will use the long ball over the defence the catch the defenders lack of pace.

Gonul first aim is to defend, watch the ball do not dive in and make a tackle which you are not sure of, stand your ground and jockey the winger, try to push him away from goal or onto his weaker foot if he does try to come inside one of the DM will help stiffle them. When attacking make over lap runs beyond our winger, create space take players with you and get the ball in early.

Kjaer will pick up SS/AM step back slightly so you can see the whole of the picture, try to play to your stregnth read the game intercept the ball, block it clear it get into positions so you have stopped the path for them. Be strong in the challenge but never over commit hold your line/position.

Alex the more tough CB pick up thier main striker, use your strength and speed, you are a big lad try to get your leap early for high balls. When they run at you don't have to always tackle them you can shepheard them out of the way.

Maxwell will have more liscence to attack but I don't want him to over commit, when attacking attack them hard push them back so they are camping in thier own half get crosses in for us give the extra width for our winger who will come inside to link with the striker. When defending like Gonul jockey and watch the ball rather then the feet don't commit unless you can win the ball try to push them backwards away from dangeror onto weaker foot.

Martinez will play as the ball winning DM, close them down don't give them time on the ball, don't push up to far hold your line protect the CB's. Try to make the players push back or pass backwards. When you get the ball play it simple nothing fancy if thier winger trys to come inside I want you to close down the area.

Montolivo will play as the play maker keep the ball ticking for us always keepit moving, demand the ball to create something for us, look to play our wingers in or lookfor a run by Valbuena. Try and dictate the tempofor us slowing it down when needed and quicken it up. Help Martinez in defensive duties close down the attackers jockey them you don't need to put a tackle in just hold them up and close the gap of making a pass.

Valbuena our most attacking midfielder, make runs off Podolski look to play him in run at thier slow centre backs make themcommit opening up the space. Get inside the box use your small frame and low centre of gravity to twist and turn players if you have the chance to shoot then do it but not in the expense of a better placed teammated use your vision to open the oppsoition open. When defending put pressure on thier DM who start thier moves close them down which will reduce thier chances of attacking us.

Marin use the wodth of the pitch get crosses in for us, cross shot, near/far post, swingers. Run at your man and get a cross in nothing fancy we prefer you to help give us width be aware of Montolivo making passes to you behind thier FB or to your feet. Track back by following thier FB when defending.

Vucinic will cut in more and link up with Podolski get inside the box into goal scoring positions to get a shot in but sometimes use the wide positions to get crosses in. Be aware of thier FB pushing up track him.

Podolski our main striker you have the pacer over thier strikers, make runs between them early ones as we may look to play long balls to catch thier slow CB's. Vucinic will look to join up with you at times upfront so link with him. Keep it simple pass and move into the box use your predator instincts to get into scoring positions. Gamble making last second runs, try and lose your man with sudden movements.

SUB 65 MIN
Vucinic off Elia on (More pace and directness fresh legs)

SUB 75 MIN IF LOSING
Valbuena off Milito on (We play 4-4-2)

SUB 75 MIN IF WINNING
Valbuena off Gonzalez on (Energy and more bite in midfield)

SUB 83 MIN IF LOSING
Podolski off Osvaldo on (Different striker on)

SUB 83 MIN IF WINNING
Maxwell off Radu on (more defensive at the back)

Juventus v SCHALKE
Line-up:
--------------Adler----------------
-Hoogland-Howedes--Metzelder-Izaguirre-
----------Capoue----Adam----------
---Dzagoev-----Witsel-----Donovan---
------------Mandzukic-------------
Subs: Duffy, Fuchs, Tőzsér, Yilmaz, Zaha, Kenia, Leitner
Injured: Uchida + McAleny
Captain: BBB
Penalties: Mandzukic
All other set pieces: Mr Charlie Adam
Overview:
Tough away game against Juventus, a much improved team from last season, but this week they are missing 2 first team regulars in Lopez and Boruc, and a possible starter in Honda. This will definitely work to our advantage as they have a 2nd choice keeper in goal and are missing a fantastic player up front. This might lead to them playing Huntelaar up front who is a dangerous player but, in my opinion, is a confidence player. If we keep him quiet, we can keep them quiet. One more thing, if we win this game CF might throw a tantrum which is hilarious to read so please, go for it!!

Goalkeeper: Big, strong, safety first approach to this game. Claim what you can from corners and look to start off the counter attack. Organise the defence to your liking when Juve have set-pieces.

All defenders: Stay organised in a line. Look out for each other. If Juve play 2 up front, the two CB’s man-mark.

Hoogland: Do not go forward. Stay back at all times. Don’t let the wingers move you about, keep an eye on the ball and not their feet. Capoue will stay back to help you when the opposition attacks down your flank.

BBB: You have the job of marking Huntelaar. You’re bigger than him so you can boss him about. He won’t out-muscle you. If we keep him quiet then we can control the game so remember that. In the event that they don’t play Huntelaar, you mark the striker and Metzelder will clean up, unless they play two strikers in which case you and Metzelder mark a man each.

Metzelder: If Juve play one striker, Howedes will mark him. You stay slightly behind Howedes so that in the event of the striker getting past him, you can clean him out (fairly!!). Be strong in the air from corners and either start off a counter attack or get the ball as far away from our goal as possible.

Izaguirre: Whatever Juve winger plays is probably not going to beat you for pace so keep that in mind when you charge down the wing. Donovan probably won’t track back so be wary when you go forward. Remember, defending is more important than attacking at away games. In the event that you do go forward on the counter, overlap and exchange passes with Donovan but don’t leave us exposed at the back.

Capoue: You are our “presence” in midfield and have a few duties to perform.
1) Cover Hoogland when the opposition are attacking down that wing.
2) If Izaguirre is caught forward, move into a temporary LB position until he comes back.
3) You are our DM in midfield. Your main job is to give Adam space so he can maraud forward and play Mandzukic in.
4) Occasionally, play the long ball to the wingers so they can get forward.
5) Don’t be afraid to put in some tough, but fair, challenges. Make your presence known!!
6) Stay on your feet!

Adam: Playmaker duties as always. Capoue will give you the space to go forward so make good use of it. Link up with Witsel or play the ball out to the wingers. If you get far enough forward, you can even play in Mandzukic with a good ball along the ground or a cheeky chip over the defence.
Don’t be afraid to have some shots from range but don’t overdo it. Keep the ball moving so any Juve DM can’t bog you down.

Donovan: Attack down left flank and cross the ball in for Mandzukic. Alternatively, cut inside and have a shot. Be direct, no faffing about. When the opposition are attacking, you can occasionally come inside to help beef up our numbers in midfield.

Witsel: You are the AM so I want to see you a) beefing up the numbers in midfield and b) playing behind Mandzukic when we are attacking. Try to play in Mandzukic whenever possible or alternatively, get the ball out to the wingers who will then follow my instructions. Mandzukic might hold the ball up for you to get forward occasionally, so keep an eye out for that.

Dzagoev: Attack down the right hand side, getting crosses in for Mandzukic or playing the ball along the ground for him. As I said to Donovan, you can go alone but always play the ball to Mandzukic if he’s in a better position.

Mandzukic: Look to get on the end of any sort of passes from the wingers. For crosses, get your head on the end of them. For passes along the ground, either shoot or hold the ball up for Witsel. Don’t let the CB’s boss you about, you’re strong enough to deal with them.

Subs: Regardless, after 65 minutes Dzagoev and Bojan on. Like-for-like swap.

If losing after 70 minutes, Capoue off and Yilmaz on. Proceed to 4-4-2. Yilmaz will be the “tank” up front, ready to barge through the Juve defence.

If wining after 70 minutes, Mandzukic off and Yilmaz on. Like-for-like swamp with some fresh legs up front.

If losing after 80 minutes Mandzukic off, Tőzsér on. Switch to this formation:

--------------Adler----------------
-Hoogland-Howedes--Metzelder-Izaguirre-
----Witsel------Adam------Tőzsér----
-----Bojan----Yilmaz----Donovan-----

If winning after 80 minutes, Hoogland off and Duffy on. Duffy goes to CB and Howedes moves to RB.

Manager Talk

Big game this week lads, we need to build on last weeks result and keep the pressure on Roma. Schalke will look to come at us and make a statement but i want us to nulify there attack. We've got all the tools to contain in the middle of the park, but we're leaking at the back, so William and Brede i want you concentrating. They will look to attack the full backs and they will run at us. Blaise, i want you to keep to your usual game plan and disrupt the attacks. Frustrate them in the middle of the park. We defend and attack as a 5 piece in the middle.

Keeper: Bernd, keep the basics as simple as possible, make sure you command your box and communicate with the defenders. Don't take chances, clear at every opportunity. Use the wings to full effect.

Full Backs: Seb and Filipe, they are going to come at you down the wings, you're going to need to be alert and on your toes. Don't allow them to run at you too much, keep tight and watch for them switching sides, don't get complacent and expect early crosses.

Centre Backs: Keep a steady line and remain goal side at all times. I would expect this Schalke side to want to take long shots if they get an eye on goal, so be quick to close down but don't lose your shape.Talkto the full backs, and if they break at us, make sure you scream at the midfield to support. They should not be outnumbering us.

Blaise: Slight change in your role, i don't want you playing the Quarterback role, i want you in the Makalele role. I want you marauding the line in front of the back four, breaking up play and distribuitng quickly. Make a nuisance of yourself and put yourself about. Make them play around you constantly. Support the back four at all times and if needs be provide extra cover.

Wingers: I want you guys switching sides and attacking their full backs at every opportunity, especially the weaker right side. I want you to move in the same way their wingers do. Mirror them so they don't find extra space. Take your chances and get the ball in early on occasion, surprise them. If Kevin is pulling Howedes away, support Yoann in a 3 man attack.

Ramsey: You're my lynchpin today, i want you at the centre of everything productive. You need to be the eyes and ears in the centre of that park and really dictate the play. Make sure those wingers follow the instructions. Short, simple passing, look to create gaps for Yoann and hit the wings. Don't resort to long ball as Howedes will eat it up. We need to play smart football, break them down and create.

Yoann: Need a shift today. You're going to need to be at your most creative. Look to exploit every hole and gap. Howedes won't make many mistakes, so you need to exploit them when he does. You'll need to support in the midfield with Aaron but going forward you're the support for Kevin. He'll make the runs, you just put the ball where he wants it. Use the wings if you get shut out but don't expect an easy ride today.

Kevin: Expect Howedes to be on you. You're the top marksman today, they know what you're capable of. Use your intelligence. If Howedes is man marking you, pull him out of the game and make him follow you, let Yoann and the wide men do the rest. Work the centre backs constantly, keep them on their toes and talk to Yoann, tell him where and when you want it.

Season 2 Gameweek 5-VALENCIA Vs Everton
Injuries- Rafael Bracali,Juan Valera,Artiz Aduriz

From The Manager
Not a bad result last week, I wont us to go 2 better this week and get a win on the board
Come on Valencia

Team Sheet- 4-4-2

-------------------------Gomes-----------------------------
-----Martins -----Dealbert-------Natali-----Heinze-----
-----Danny-----Albelda (C)--------Denilson---Hoilett
----------------Kanoute-----------Borges----------------

Subs- Bracali, Vitor,Bristo, Duda,Jurado ,Rodriguez,Hoarau

Make sure you win any tackles, fairly and cleanly. Attack down the wings as much as possible!

Be vocal talk to each other at all times. Good week last week with you both picking up goals, try and do the same this week.
Chase down any dropped balls or back passes. be aware of positioning at all time, play on the shoulder of the centre defenders.

Corners

Defending Corners
Dealbert and Danny will stand on each post.

Centre backs are to come up into the penalty area, with the left back and right back the left back on the half way line to stop any possible counter attack.

Right- Danny

Albelda will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Danny will take over.Aim for heads of our taller players or Hoilett if you have a sight on goal take the shot.

If winning
80mins- On Vitor, Off Kanoute-Change to 5-4-1 Formation

Viva's Rainbow League: Tactics Submission - Page 2 Empty Re: Viva's Rainbow League: Tactics Submission

Post by Marky Fri 10 Feb 2012, 7:38 pm

Matchday 5
Valencia v EVERTON

Injuries: Ospina, Airton, Watt, Lambert

Starting XI: (4-4-2)

Douchez
Duarte - Garay - Demichelis - Ziegler
Piatti - Guarin - Keita - Shea
Derdiyok - Rhodes

Subs: Butland, Zouma, Muamba, Coutinho, Iturbe, Traore, Coulibaly

Today we play Valencia away, a tough fixture for any side but we believe we have the players and the capabilities to beat them. We continue with the same back four that has guided us to our two wins this season, Garay and Demichelis as our centre back pairing and keeping in constant communication with our goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez, making his Everton debut as David Ospina is injured. Douchez is a very experienced goalkeeper from PSG, but as he is new to the side I want Garay and Demichelis to be sensible in possession and not put Douchez under any unnecessary pressure.

Valencia's likely front two are Borges and Kanoute. Borges is in great form and Kanoute is a very unorthadox player, but with assistance from Guarin and Keita in centre midfield and with the experience Garay and Demichelis have, we should be able to keep these two quiet and cut off the supply from Albelda in midfield.

We are aware of Valencia's often used 4-4-2 formation so we are going to match them and make the most of our superior players in the same position. In the centre of midfield we have Seydou Keita who will be mainly responsible for sitting in front of the back four except he wont be solely responsible for the back four as in other games when he is the DM, we expect him to pick up any runs from the midfield and help out against the front two of Valencia.

Alongside Keita is Fredy Guarin making his debut, Guarin is a wonderfully gifted footballer but he also has the capability to be a box to box midfielder which is where he comes in today. Guarin will assist Keita and the defence when we are out of possession but when we have the ball I expect Guarin to either be beginning attacks or finishing them off with late runs into the area.

On the right is new signing Pablo Piatti on the right wing, with our ever reliable Jesus Gamez Duarte at right back. Piatti will likely be up against his countryman Gabriel Heinze. Heinze used to be a feared defender but these days his pace is limited at best. Piatti should be able to beat him for pace outside and throw him off his game by cutting back inside on occasions. Piatti can hold up the ball as Duarte overlaps, and use the run of Duarte to either play the ball to Duarte to cross the ball, or use the space created to cross the ball into the box himself.

On the left is the highly talented Brek Shea on the left wing, and Swiss international Reto Ziegler at left back. Shea will likely be up against Martins as Valera is injured. As similar to the opposite flank, Shea has the beating of the full back when in a footrace, and he will have Ziegler overlapping. Shea will either cross the ball himself, or use Ziegler and Ziegler can cross. Shea can also cut inside and shoot. On occasion Shea and Piatti will swap flanks and have the ability to cut inside the full back and shoot or pass, whichever is the best option.

We don't anticipate the Valencia wingers tracking back too often, if they don't we will double up on the full back but if they do we will keep possession and pass the ball around our midfield and centre forwards. When Valencia have possession we will have 2 banks of 4, with Shea and Piatti stood alongside Guarin and Keita preventing Valencia from breaking us down.

Our front two are Eren Derdiyok who has settled in nicely and loanee Jordan Rhodes, these two are our best hopes for a goal, both men score goals regularly and today they will be working for each other, Rhodes in particular scores the majority of his goals when alongside a strike partner and we anticipate the partnership of Derdiyok and Rhodes will torment the centre backs of Natali and Dealbert.

Subs:

65 mins: Traore on, Rhodes off - Lacina Traore will be making his debut, he has been a regular scorer for FC Kuban Krasnodar and is only 21. Lacina is 6ft 8" tall, and we will be using the strengths of Lacina to play the ball in the air, where he can head the ball on to Derdiyok and hold up possession, as well as being able to turn and shoot very well.

70 mins (if winning): Muamba on, Guarin off - Muamba will replace Guarin in the centre of midfield but he is a more defensively minded midfielder, to give us a much more solid defensive base.

70 mins (if drawing or losing): Kranjcar on, Guarin off - Kranjcar will replace Guarin in the centre of midfield but he has more of a creative presence, he will be able to find intricate passes to our centre forwards and create more chances for us while also continuing any defensive duties required.

70 mins: Zouma on, Demichelis off - Kurt Zouma is our new centre back, he is young and pacy, yet very mature for his age. Kurt's job will be to play alongside Garay and continue the job Demichelis was doing, only Zouma will make the most of being quicker and fresher, meaning Valencia's impact substitutions will not have a speed advantage over our defence.

Manager's final word: We played very well last week against Roma but now it's time to get back on the winning trail. I want us to go out for the 3 points to maintain our European push, I want us to close Valencia's players down quickly when they are in possession, and I want us to continue to give absolutely everything. I can just about accept not winning, but I will not accept not trying.

JUVENTUS TACTICS VS Roma

---------------------Boruc--------------------

-Fucile----Padapolous--Bonucci---Sandro--

-------------Parker--------Pazienza----------

---Barnettea-----------------------------Downing-----

---------------------------------Ballack-----------------------

-----------------------------Iaquinta------------------------

Captain: Scott Parker
Injuries: Honda,Veloso,Cris
Subs:Vercoutre (gk),Cicinho,Felipe,Marcelo,Lopez,Huntelaar,Polo

GOALKEEPER: expect a lot of work in this game, Roma are a quality side, be secure at the back, catch the ball whenever possible, roll the ball out and clear the ball only when neccessary

FullBacks: Fucile and Sandro, only get forward when opportunity is there..dont let wingers past you, and keep the ball on the floor, remeber your main reposnsbility is defending, attacking is secondary.

Centrebacks: Stay strong and dominate the aerial ball. If roma play 2 upfront then Bounucci mark a defender, whilst Padapolous cover the loose ball that might fall from the air....

Parker+ Pazienza: Protect the back four at all costs, strong in the challenges, and keep the ball on the floor. Parker get forward when opportunity arises, however mainly stay in a defensive role.

Wingers: Barentta and Downing..offer the width..get crosses into the box, also tuck inside, and also try and beat the roma full backs using pace, and trickery...shoot from range when opportunity arises...

Ballack: Attacking role for you today...get forward and support Iaquitna. Shoot from range, feed the ball through to iaquinta and also feed the ball to the wingers....stay in attacking role as there is plenty of protection for the back four.

Iaquinta: chance to prove yourself..playing up top on your own..be strong in the air hold the ball up, and get in the box for the corsses and get on the end of them

Juventus vs ROMA

Stekelenburg
Gonul---Kjaer----Kaboul----Maxwell
Valbuena--Montolivo--Martinez--Marin
Podolski---Milito

Formation:4-4-2

Subs
Lobont
Alex
Lamela
Aquilani
Gonzalez
Osvaldo
Vucinic

Injured players:
Lucas Leiva
Loic Nego
Eljero Elia

Freekick 26 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 25 yards or less: Valbuena/Montolivo
Corner left: Valbuena
Corner right: Marin
Penalty: Podolski
Defending corner: Man marking system our big players mark thiers
Attacking corners: Two CB split one at near the other at far post

Attacking: Wingers make runs in behind thier fullbacks Montolivo will look to play you in. Wingers vary your style come inside at alsouse the width mix it up and get crosses in for our strikers. I want the CM to dictate the play pass the ball around look for the more attack minded players to get them through. Only one fullback will attack at a time, Maxwell will be given more liscence to push up. Podolski drop back a bit pick up the play, make runs where you find space drag a defender with you to open space for others. Milito the main striker knock ball on make runs don't stay static. We will keep a higher line as I feel my defenders have the pace over thier strikers pushing them back into thier own half.

Defending We work as a unit, each player will be up against someone, Martinez and Montolivo work together closing them down when they come in to our area or shadow them slowing them down and narrowing thier options for a pass. Wingers track back follow opposition fullbacks. Defenders don't get dragged out of position if thier play moves out of your zonal area someone else wil pick him up keeping our defensive shape is a must.

Stekelenburg stand your ground make yourself as big as possible close the angle make the goal smaller. Always communitcate loud and early let players know that you are going for the ball, try to catch them but if under pressurepunch them out. If you can't hold onto a shot try to turn it away from danger tip it for a corner but not straight back. If you have the chance to start a counter throw the ball to wingers.

Gonul defend first, thier wingers will try to put crosses in for thier strikers so try to reduce it by jocking them, positioning yourself so they have to move away from goal or on to thier weaker foot. Do not dive in watch the ball andalways concentrate keep the shape of our defence. Wingers will help you picking up thier FB. When attacking make runs behind thier FB taking him with you opening space for our winger to run or cross, when you get the ball put in early which will give them less time to organise.

Kaboul will pick up thier dominant striker, he has the attributes such as height, speed and strength. Don't dive into a tackle watch the ball and if you can win the ball put a tackle in, sometimes you just have to read the situation and position yourself to stop them. Block shots stop them getting it on target, watch the game and make interceptions.

Kjaer will pick up the other striker or AM use your strength such as being aware of situations to stop them if you can read the game you can intercept danger before it becomes a problem. Work with Kaboul as a unit when he goes forward to pick up you drop and vice versa always communicate. Don't get dragged out of position if a player moves out wide don't follow keep the shape. You have good passing look to play long ball from deep if you see thier team open or to start a counter look for our wingers.

Maxwell defend first, thier wingers will try to put crosses in for thier strikers so try to reduce it by jocking them, positioning yourself so they have to move away from goal or on to thier weaker foot. Do not dive in watch the ball andalways concentrate keep the shape of our defence. Wingers will help you picking up thier FB. When attacking make runs behind thier FB taking him with you opening space for our winger to run or cross, when you get the ball put in early which will give them less time to organise.

Montolivo has the role of playmaker for us, I want him to dictate the tempo of the game slow or quick depending on the situation. Use far and near range passing, our wingers will make runs so be aware of them, take the ball forward looking for our players. When defending you do not have to make a tackle you can jockey and watch thier players close down the room for a shot and sight of goal. Follow thier runners try to read the game get infront of a pass intercept it. Work with Martinez when one pushes up a bit the other will drop back.

Martinez keep your displine do not go chasing after players that are far away work with Monty close them down, put tackles in, intercept, slow them down push them away from goal protect our CB's. If thier attackers make runs follow them pick them up be aware of late runners into the box. Pass the ball keep the possesion in our hands but don't pass for the sake of it look for openings.

Valbuena on the right today small stature will help to run at players and quickly turn and twist come inside go on the outside get crosses in mix them up for us. Run with the ball keeping it close to your feet, if you run through the middle look to play in one of the strikers or get a shot if you have a chance. When we don't have the ball track help our defenders. If you have space infront of you knock the ball passed the defenders and run passed.

Marin keep it simple look for our strikers in the box get crosses in for them. Maxwell will be making runs beyond you so use him to good affect if he is on a crossing position make your way to the box for any knock down or deflection. Try to assist our players with your passing making it easier for them to run onto the ball or latch onto a goal scoring oppurtunity. Help back to defend following thier defender.

Podolski will be given more of a free role to make runs into areas to suck thier defenders to create space for others or picking up the ball slightly deeper to run with giving our midfield an option if we can't get anything ahead of us. Work with Milito feed of his knock downs time your runs behind thier CB you may time one of the knock downs perfectly getting on to goal. You have a very good shot so try to use it if you can keeping the show low, be wary of any spilt shots or fumbles by the keeper. Get into the box make late runs so its harder for them to pick you up. When we don't have the ball drop back a little pick up thier midfielders who are going to start moves for them.

Milito target man but also a goal scorer knock the ball down for Podolski keep your game simple, when you get the ball pass it to a teammate and go forward into the box or make runs so they can feed you. Use your predator instincts in the box making last second movements to lose your marker or move to the far/near post at the last second anticipating the ball.

SUB 65 MIN
Marin off Vucnic off (Same formation fresh legs)

SUB 75 MIN IF LOSING
Milito off Osvaldo on (Same formation change striker)

SUB 75 MIN IF WINNING
Martinez off Gonzalez on (Same formation fresh legs and more bite in midfield)

SUB 83 MIN IF LOSING
Montolivo off Lamela on (More attacking approach from midfield)

SUB 83 MIN IF WINNING
Podolski off Aquilani on (4-5-1 put on a defensive minded player to keep possesion)

SCHALKE v Leverkusen

--------------Adler----------------
--Uchida-Howedes--Metzelder-Izaguirre--
----------Capoue----Adam----------
---Dzagoev-----Witsel-----Donovan---
------------Mandzukic-------------

Subs: Duffy, Fuchs, Tőzsér, Yilmaz, Zaha, Kenia, Leitner

Injured: Hoogland + Mr Bojangles

Captain: Howedes

Set-pieces: Adam

Overview: We’ve won our last 2 league games, no reason why we can’t win this one. This is a good Leverkusen team but, set up as we are, I think we dictate the game in the midfield which, coupled with home advantage, will serve us well. Remember, keep the ball moving quickly. You are all good passers so keep the ball on the deck unless I tell you.
A lot of their team (especially midfield) is U21. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good players, but you have experience so you can boss them.

Player roles:

Adler – Big, strong, safety first approach to this game. Claim what you can from corners and look to start off the counter attack. Organise the defence to your liking when Leverkusen have set-pieces.

Uchida – You have permission to attack down the wing but remember to get back. A lot of their midfielders are inexperienced (U21) so force their wingers to go outside; don’t let them cut inside and they’ll be lost.
When you attack, overlap with Dzagoev and look to get some balls into the box or play it along the ground to someone else coming into the box.

Izaguirre – Pretty much the same instructions as Uchida. You can get forward but remember to track back. Don’t get caught in possession halfway down the pitch. As with Uchida, force their wingers on the outside.
As with the right-hand side, overlap with Donovan and get balls into Mandzukic or play it along the ground.

Full-backs – Only one of you attack at a time; Capoue will cover the one who is attacking until he returns to his position. Also, remember a safety-first approach. Don’t get caught in possession down the field!! Stay back when we have corners, ready to defend a counter attack.

Metzelder – If Giroud plays, you mark him. You are taller than him and stronger than him so you can boss him. Don’t let him get away from you. When I say mark him, I mean both man-mark him on the pitch and at set pieces.
In the event that Giroud doesn’t play, I want you to mark a second striker (if there is one) and boss him too. If there is no second striker then I want you work with Howedes to boss around the striker. Don’t let him rest a moment but try not to foul him.

Howedes – If Remy is playing as a striker I want you to mark him. You can boss him. In the event that he’s on the wing, leave him be. If Leverkusen play a single striker up front, I want you to mark him. Don’t let him get away from you (although you can keep up with him). Also, as captain, I want you to lead by example and organise the defence. Keep them in check.

CB’s – Come up when we have corners.

Capoue – You are the defensive presence in midfield. Your job is to disrupt the opponent’s rhythm by marking their AM/playmaker. This will stop them creating many chances and allow Adam to get forward.
When one of our FB’s has gone attacking, I want you to go to that side temporarily to cover them in case the opponents attack back.

Adam – Playmaker’s role as always for you. Capoue being defensive will allow you the space to get forward so use it wisely. Don’t let yourself be bogged down by any DM; keep the ball moving. Link up with Witsel or the wingers. Alternatively, play the ball up to Mandzukic with a ball over the Leverkusen CB’s.

Witsel – Get forward to support Mandzukic but when Leverkusen are attacking I want you to help out the midfield. Play the ball out to the wingers or through the defence that Mandzukic can latch onto. Don’t be afraid to shoot from range but always pass the ball if there’s a better opportunity.

Dzagoev – Work with Uchida down the wing to get past the defence. Cross the ball into the box or alternatively play it along the ground. Get into the midfield to boost numbers when you don’t have the ball. Feel free to take defenders on; with quick feet to get past them and then have a shot.

Donovan – You are a master at crossing the ball so I want to see plenty of crosses sent in to Mandzukic’s head. As with Dzagoev, you can occasionally have a go from range or try and beat some defenders. Also, when we don’t have the ball, beef up numbers in midfield and help get it back.

Wingers – Try and track back occasionally to help out the full-backs.

Mandzukic:

1) Get on the end of any crosses that come into the box.
2) Keep moving so the defenders can’t keep you quiet.
3) Look for balls that come over the defence that you can latch onto.

Subs:

If losing after 65 mins, Witsel off and Yilmaz on. Play standard 4-4-2. Yilmaz is used as a battering ram in defence.

If winning after 65 mins, Witself off and Tőzsér on. Straight swap, some fresh legs in midfield.

Regardless after 75 mins; Metzelder off and Duffy on. Like-for-like swap in defence.

If losing after 80 mins, Capoue off and Zaha on. Go 4-3-3 with Yilmaz in the middle, Mandzukic on the right and Zaha on the left.

Matchday 6
EVERTON v Leverkusen

Injuries: Piatti, Coulibaly, Zouma

Ospina
Duarte - Garay - Demichelis - Ziegler
Keita
Coutinho - Guarin - Afellay
Traore - Barrios

Subs: Butland, Ogbonna, Jantschke, Muamba, Kranjcar, Shea, Rhodes

Today we are up against our rivals for a Champions League place in Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen managed to beat us on the opening day of the season but with their European committments, the amount of changes in their squad and the consistency of our side and our recent form (3 wins in 4 games) I feel we can turn them over and start to pull away in 2nd place.

We have David Ospina back in goal after his injury last week, he takes the place of Nicolas Douchez who did well last week but we are returning to the continuity of our South American triangle of Ospina in goal and Garay and Demichelis at centre back.

Ezequiel Garay and Martin Demichelis have been very solid this season and are a real defensive pair. They have been able to read the opposition strikers very well this season and that wont change. We are expecting Leverkusen to play with either Gameiro or Giroud down the middle and Remy and Krasic on the wings, with Gourcuff playing as the playmaker. Garay will be the one to shadow Gameiro/Giroud, cutting off any passes through or high passes into him, Garay will get ahead of Gameiro/Giroud and not allow him possession, or allow him to keep or use possession. Demichelis will be the one who cleans up, any flick ons from Gameiro/Giroud will be cleared by Demichelis and he will also be responsible for helping the full backs if/when Remy and Krasic cut inside.

Our full backs are, once again, Jesus Gamez Duarte and Reto Ziegler. Duarte should easily have Loic Remy sussed. Remy might be a little quicker, but Duarte has pace about him and he also has the knowledge and is smart enough to not let Remy beat him with the ball. Show him outside as crossing is not one of Remy's best qualities. Ziegler will be up against Krasic, who likes to cut inside. If Krasic cuts inside, he will be cut off by either Demichelis or Seydou Keita in defensive midfield. If Ziegler can, show Krasic outside and make him run around you if he is going to get anything. Both full backs need to get close to close down any attempted crosses.

Keita will sit in front of the back four, helping out with the threat from out wide and from Gameiro/Giroud, but mainly focusing on Gourcuff. Keita is a very smart footballer and he will be able to follow Gourcuff when he drops deep. Gourcuff is known for dropping deep to pick up possession and getting into space, only when he does Seydou Keita will be there to stop him from playing his natural game by being stronger, outmuscling and beating Gourcuff to the ball.

When in possession, Keita will be the one to supply passes to the attacking midfield and strikers if necessary.

Coutinho will be on the right wing, Afellay on the left with Fredy Guarin in the middle. Coutinho and Afellay can constantly swap wings, toying with the Leverkusen full backs and beating them with crosses, either going outside or cutting inside and getting the ball into the box, high or low. Coutinho and Afellay can also cut inside and shoot on sight, or pass it to Guarin or Keita and keep possession. We are in no rush to shoot, we can be patient and wait for the opening.

Fredy Guarin is not a natural attacking midfielder but he has all the tools to be that man. Guarin can drop alongside Keita if necessary, keep the ball, and find the right pass. Guarin can also get stuck in and tackle, and be alongside Keita when out of possession. Coutinho, Afellay and the two strikers will be making plenty of runs and creating spaces for Guarin to pass into or to advance into and shoot.

Upfront we have two new strikers making their full debuts. Lacina Traore is 6ft 8" tall so will have the beating of either centre back in the air, chances are it will be Hangeland and Samba who are both very good in the air so Traore will need to be at the top of his game to beat them. Traore can hold up possession, make runs, turn and shoot, win headers and flick the ball on to Lucas Barrios alongside him.

Barrios is a proven goalscorer in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and with Malaga, and we hope he can replicate his form for Everton. Barrios will be getting onto the end of any flick ons from Traore, as well as any passes from Guarin or crosses from Coutinho or Afellay. Traore and Barrios should be able to fire us to another vital 3 points and solidify 2nd place.

Subs:
65 mins: Afellay off, Shea on - Brek Shea has bags of pace and will continue to do the same job as Afellay, only he will be fresh against the tiring full back. It is unlikely the Leverkusen right back will be rested at any point so make the most of it, beat the man and get a cross into the box, or cut inside and cross or shoot.

70 mins: Ogbonna on, Demichelis off - Angelo Ogbonna is young, pacy and importantly, fresh. He will slot into the same role Demichelis has filled throughout this match, only he will be quicker to the ball due to being naturally younger and faster. This change is to combat any attacking changes from Leverkusen and ensure we do not get overrun by Leverkusen's fresh substitutions.

75 mins (If winning): Muamba on, Coutinho off - Fabrice Muamba is a much more defensively minded player but he also has the attacking instinct to punish Leverkusen on the counter attack. When out of possession, we will have a solid midfield three of Muamba - Keita - Guarin, but when in possession all three men can come forward and pick a pass to our strikers.

75 mins: (If drawing): Rhodes on, Traore off - Keep the formation as it is, maintaining how solid we are while continuing to try new things. Rhodes will be something different for the Leverkusen defence to worry about, making runs in behind the defenders and with his incredible goalscoring record we could very easily get a winner from Jordan Rhodes.

75 mins (If losing): Rhodes on, Demichelis off - If we are losing, it's time to go for it. Our formation would change from 4-1-3-2 to 3-1-3-3, Rhodes would be another striker alongside Traore and Barrios, and we would have to resort to playing high passes to our strikers, and feeding the ball in from the midfield to our three upfront. Against the two Leverkusen centre backs, unless they change shape drastically, we should create plenty of chances to get back into the game.

Manager's note:
We are back at Goodison for our third home game of the season, we have won our first two home games and in front of 40,000 Evertonians we hope to continue that 100% record. We will be ready to give 100% for the whole match, close down Leverkusen quickly when they have the ball, and be smart when in possession. We want to bring European football to Goodison Park and we have the capabilities to do that. Come on you blues!

eason 2 Gameweek 6-VALENCIA v Juventus
Injuries- Cristian Sapunaru,Denilson,Fernando Belluschi

From The Manager
decent result last week. this week we play juventus, whos current league position doesnt flatter them with how good a team they are. we will need to play at our best to beat these
Come on Valencia

Team Sheet- 4-4-2

-------------------------Gomes-----------------------------
-----Martins -----Dealbert-------Natali-----Heinze-----
-----Danny-----Albelda (C)--------Moritz---Hoilett
----------------Kanoute-----------Borges----------------

Subs- Bracali, Vitor,Bristo, Duda, ,Coquelin,Rodriguez,Hoarau

Make sure you win any tackles, fairly and cleanly. Attack down the wings as much as possible!

Be vocal talk to each other at all times. Good week last week with you both picking up goals, try and do the same this week.
Chase down any dropped balls or back passes. be aware of positioning at all time, play on the shoulder of the centre defenders.

Corners

Defending Corners
Dealbert and Danny will stand on each post.

Centre backs are to come up into the penalty area, with the left back and right back the left back on the half way line to stop any possible counter attack.

Right- Danny

Albelda will take free kicks from past the half way line upto the edge of the penalty area, where Danny will take over.Aim for heads of our taller players or Hoilett if you have a sight on goal take the shot.

If winning
80mins- On Coquelin, Off Kanoute-Change to 5-4-1 Formation

Game week 6: Roma v SCHALKE

--------------Adler----------------
Uchida-Howedes-Metzelder-Duffy-Izaguirre
--Dzagoev---Witsel---Adam---Donovan--
------------Mandzukic-------------
Subs: Fuchs, Tőzsér, Yilmaz, Zaha, Kenia, Leitner
Injured: Leitner and Capoue

Captain: BBB
Set-pieces: Adam

Overview: 3 league games unbeaten. Want to make it 4? Me too, but we play runaway leaders Roma away so this is the hardest league game we have left by a mile. I’m not going to say “We can win this” because it’s going to be near impossible to do so. Give it a go, stay tight and try and frustrate Roma into making mistakes. Let’s have a go and knock them off their perch. We want to knock that sneer off of Viva’s face!!

From feedback from our game earlier in the season, it was my terrible tactics in the first half that cost us so I will NOT be making that mistake again. So, for the whole game, team tactics are as follows.
• Let Roma pass the ball about all they want in their own half. No need to chase them down.
• As soon as they come into our half, come down on them like a ton of bricks. Relentless pressure is what’s needed to subdue them.
• Keep 10 men behind the ball (when Roma have possession) at all times. Make them pass the ball through us. If we stay tight, they will find that a hard task to do.
• When we have the ball, KEEP IT! Don’t give it away cheaply. Always play the safest pass. If needs be, run up to their corner flags and keep it there, just don’t give the ball away.
• When we do lose possession, get back behind the ball. When they come into our half, don’t let them breathe.
• When possible, play counter-attacking football. Go forward

Adler: Big and strong, as usual. Narrow the angles using your massive frame. Never punch and always hoof the ball as far away as possible. If possible, start the counter attack. Safety first!! Also, take as much time as possible with goal kicks.

Defenders: Work as a unit. Make sure you stay tight and leave no gaps. We have a combination of pace and power in the defence. Pace to hassle for the ball and power to knock the opponents off of it.

Uchida + Howedes: Use your pace to force the wingers inside where the Big Bad man will be waiting. You both shall be a team designed to stop the opponents attacking down the(ir) left wing.
When we have the ball, Uchida will then go down the wing with it and Howedes will remain back. Uchida will work with Dzagoev to get past the Roma FB’s and play in crosses for Mandzukic (or just stand by the corner flag with Dzagoev).
Howedes is the captain too, so he is expected to organise the defence at all times and keep them on their toes.

Metzelder: You’re job is simple. Stop the opponents from getting through the defence in the middle and to man-mark the main striker. Be on him at all times when he’s near the defence and don’t let him get away from you. Also, you are the anchor in defence. Don’t be pulled out of position. If Milito is up front, then physically dominate him which I know you can do.

Duffy and Izaguirre: Basically the same tactics as BBB and Uchida. Force the wingers inside then work together to get the ball off of them.
As above, when we have the ball, Izaguirre will work with Donovan to get past the Roma defence and take the ball up to the corner flags where it will ether remain for as long as possible or be played into Mandzukic.

Midfielders: Form a strong line of 4. All midfielders are expected to chase down the ball relentlessly and force mistakes and misplaced passes from Roma. Clear the ball whenever possible or play it out to the wingers who will then sprint down the wing and do their best to keep it as far away from our goal as possible. Remember, don’t give the ball away cheaply!

Dzagoev: Pretty much what I’ve said above. Chase the ball down and when it is given to you, run down that wing and either keep the ball in the corner or play it into Mandzukic. Work with Uchida when attacking the Roma defence.

Witsel: Aside from Mandzukic, you should be the furthest player forward (but not too far). Stay in our half. Your job is to be a semi-attacking midfielder. When the opposition have the ball, stay in sync with the rest and chase the ball down. When we have the ball, get forward a bit to provide another option up front.

Adam: Not many playmaker instructions for you this week. Look to find Mandzukic when possible or play it out to the wingers but don’t give it away cheap. Never go to ground with challenges (we all know you’re not the best at the sliding challenge!!) so stay on your feet.

Donovan: Same as Dzagoev, except you’ll be working with Izaguirre.

Wingers: Try and help out the FB’s if need be.

Mandzukic: Stay up front at all times. Hassle the defenders and give them something to think about. You staying forward will give us some breathing space as it means Roma will need to keep at least 1 or 2 men back to keep an eye on you. If there are any defensive mistakes, I want you to capitalise on them. Pressure causes mistakes so keep that in mind.

Subs:

Regardless after 65 mins, Witsel off and Tőzsér on. Tőzsér will provide a bit more defence in midfield. Adam will now be the one who gets forward more.

Regardless after 70 mins, Izaguirre off and Fuchs on. Like-for-like replacement but Fuchs is more defensive and won’t get forward as much. Keep it tight!!

Regardless after 80 mins, Dzagoev off and Zaha on. Again, a like-for-like replacement but Zaha has a bit more pace and will take the ball down the other end of the field quicker.

ROMA vs Schalke

Formation: 4-3-2-1

Stekelenburg
De Silvestri---Kaboul-----Juan-----Maxwell
Montolivo---Lucas---Gonzalez
Valbuena-----Elia
Milito

Subs: Lobont, Alex, Podolski,Vucinic, Marin, Lamela, Martinez

Injuries:
Alberto Aquilani
Simon Kjaer
José Ángel

ATTACKING: We will look to pass a lot keeping possesion at times we will look for the run of our very quick players Valbuena and Elia. Milito ahead of them making runs always on the move knock the ball down. Fullbacks will push up giving us width when Valbuena and Elia tuck in slightly want themtopush thier wingers backwards. Gonzalez and Montolivo will take turns pushing up montolivo more creative in his style and Gonzalez more powerful. Always keep on the move when you recieve a pass look to pass it and move on give teammates option to pass. Welook to get our pacy Valbuena and Elia in the game run at thier CB we have the pace advantage Milito will make runs to open up space for you to get at the CB.

DEFENDING: Work as a unit defence starts from attack Milito or one of the attackers put pressure on Adam if we can stiffle him we can stop thier passing game always stay near him when they got the ball push him backwards. When our FB are attacking one of the CM will cover them if they need to. Lucas most defensive stay infront of the CB and protect them. Montolivo/Gonzalez one will get back to help stand your ground jockey them intercept, block close angles for passing.

Freekick 28 yards or more: Montolivo
Freekick 27 yards or less: Valbuena/Montolivo
Corner right: Montolivo
Corner left: Valbuena
Penalty: Milito
Corners: Big players go up and big players mark thier big players when defending corners.

Stekelenburg stand as long as you can make yourself big reduce the size of the goal, be brave always communicate to defenders try to catch the ball if you can put if need to then punch it. Parry shots away from our 6 yard don't let them rebound push them away please.

De Silvestri watch the ball don't dive in jockey your man pushing him out wide or onto his weaker foot if he does come in one of the CM will help you. Get forward when you can be explosive make them sit back in their own half Valbuena may go inside so you have to use the width get crosses in for us early ones.

I've gone with Kaboul strong and quick pick up thier main striker, don't dive in also don't give him space and room to get a shot keep the sight of goal blocked. Go for the header try to win it if not Juan will help to pick up second ball.

Juan pick up any other striker or AM watch their runs read the danger try to intercept it before it becomes a problem. Just a touch behind Kaboul so you can read the game and dangers. Nothing fancy get rid of the ball.

Maxwell watch the ball don't dive in jockey your man pushing him out wide or onto his weaker foot if he does come in one of the CM will help you. Get forward when you can be explosive make them sit back in their own half Valbuena may go inside so you have to use the width get crosses in for us early ones.

Lucas will just sit infront of the back four protecting them and filling in for anyone out of position do not venture out of your radius if you stick to your position we can keep our defensive line. When players come into your area close them down, put tackles in you have a very good percentage in tackles so do that give them no time to think on the ball.

Gonzalez is more box to box he will link up with the attackers and also help back work with Montolivo when he pushes you drop and vice versa. When defending put pressure on the players and get a tackle in play a bit more advanced then Lucas so he will pick the AM and you can pick the others. Also help our FB when Schalke are attacking from wide just come in and stop the winger cutting in and getting passed.

Montolivo our creator drop deep pick the ball make it tick look for Elia or Valbuena making runs behind the opposition defence. Pass and move slow or quicken the tempo for us get forward at times hover outside the box look for any defelections or loose balls to pop. When defending jockey man close down them but don't dive in watch the ball try to intercept the ball if you can.

Valbuena pace master looking to get you to attack thier CB as you have the pace over them look for knock downs by Milito or threaded passes by Montolivo come inside go outside don't become predictable De Silvestri will give width so you can come through the middle. You will have less emphasis on defending but if you can put a bit of pressure on the DM or playmakers to stop their flow in passes. Use your small framce and low centre of gravity to twist and turn passed players. Shoot when you can.

Elia another speedester look to get wide and get crosses for our attacking players make runs stretch the opposition defence if they play deep keep more wide if thier defence is higher up come more central and try to get between them Montolivo will look to pick you out. Be aware of Milito making runs too try to pass him.

Milito main striker play it simple, knock balls down for attackers, when you get the ball pass it and go forward don't stay static always on the move keep thier defenders guessing make it hard for them as Valbuena and Elia will come inside at times making it hard for opposition. Make runs into back/near post be time your runs movement to lose your man. Be aware of early crosses player as a predator getting into goalscoring positions
