Leinster V Aironi
I had just written a biggie. A nice long intro. And that Flip 'maintenance' page just killed it. I'm not writing it all out again.

We were lucky to beat them last year at home during the 6n. They just got an away win in Glasgow. Bit of a squad building backs to the wall performance from us hopefully.greybeard wrote:I had just written a biggie. A nice long intro. And that Flip 'maintenance' page just killed it. Conway and Sykes could be back for this one.
Not on the telly, just like Glasgow a fortnight ago. Thankfully I live near the RDS.

Leinster at home should be a win to Leinster. Backrow is devastated with injuries from what people are saying. Missed the last 2 games so will be interested to see the team in action.

Ah, but I had many good reasons for being so upbeat about our chances. Alas those reason were swept up in the tide of maintenance, so you'll never get to read them...
Ah well.

Re: Leinster V Aironi
They are missing 10 or 11 to the world cup. That's the good thing about the pro12 supplying 4 Intl teams. All bar Connacht are weakened by the WC. Not just the top 4 or 5 like England or France.
Makes their away win over Glasgow even more impressive.

No, RTE and BBC NI are picking up the Ulster game (overkill) while the Munster, Connacht and Leinster matches aren't televised at all.
Bit of a scheduling silly.
Still, the Ulster match might be the pick of the weekend.

Ah FFS, that’s our second game out of 5 that’s not on tv.
I’m at a poxy wedding this week so I’ll miss the thing. if anyone is at the game could they post the half time / full time score on this thread please and thanks?
From what I read Horgan was due back at the end of this month so he could be in with a shout of starting. We might have to put him in the backrow, but at least he’ll be back in action.

He has to go to the doc for an opinion at the end of this month. Not guaranteed to be back.Mickado wrote:Ah FFS, that’s our second game out of 5 that’s not on tv.

You can get live scores on a link from this page which will become active on the day. The link is beside the fixture and will say LIVE on it.

Good point, but i did only ask for HT / FT scores so you wouldn't have missed much (cept for the half time minis!)...

I suppose I could have posted while I was queueing at the bar/walking home, but I'm not the best at posting from a phone. (Big Fingers)Mickado wrote:Good point, but i did only ask for HT / FT scores so you wouldn't have missed much (cept for the half time minis!)...

Actually, sorry you will have to use the main fixtures page. I don't think the link comes up on the specific Leinster page.

Teams have been announced and are added to the first post.
More or less a settled side now that we're 5 games in, apart from Reid selected ahead of Madigan. Not too sure about that.

I'm a bit shocked by that myself. But Schmidt rewards good form in training so he must have been going well.

Aye, and I suppose if you're going to do it, doing it at home against last years bottom club is the best time.
(Oh please don't let that come back to bite me on my -rather attractive, at times quite breathtaking- arse!)

Good to see Sykes starting too. Browne has been, ok but Sykes is being signed as Hines' replacement, he's got big boots to fill...

I saw an interview with Browne and it even went as far as to mention international aspirations.
I mean, we can all dream, and I wouldn't like to knock his confidence, but ehhhhhh, can't see it.

Not only that, but it's been 0-0 for the last ten minutes against 14 Aironians!

0 - 7. Nick Williams with the try, Tebaldi converts.
Nacewa has missed three penalties so far.

The Noel Reid Experiment (sounds like a band) has lasted only 40 minutes. Ian Madigan starts the second half.

Rhys is the younger Ruddock.
Anyone know how Sykes got on? Presumably Reid wasnt too impressive?

It was Ciaran (the elder) that went off. (Obviously as Rhys got a try in injury time)Golden wrote:"Rudduck the younger is off, Jordi Murphy on."

Sykes was so so. Knocked on a lot of ball. Probably saw more rain in 24 hours than in his whole life, and it was his 1st game back, so we will give him a pass.
Reid was not too bad. Considering it was his debut. About where Madigan was on his debut. Madigan was a big step up when he came on though. He has really come on immensely in the past year.
