oh arse..!
I've just drawn Wales in the work pool (£5 pot) for who will win the RWC ...
where's the smiley that slashes its wrists when you need it.
SO... I like Adam Jones.... and thats it, the rest of the team fall to pieces and start blubbering at the anthem or are more concerned with their tan and/or hair.
I also think the Irish are gonna smear the Welsh all over the pitch.
Can Welsh fans give me 5 points on Wales's strengths or reasons why they stand more chance of surviving than a elephant fart in a diving bell.

Now you know how Warren Gatland feels when he wakes up every morning. Or whilst lying sleeplessly in bed every night. At least you've only got them for a couple of weeks, the poor guy is locked down till mid way through the decade.

Sorry Marty, mis-communication. I thought you were the straight man with the set up, and I came in and knocked the pins over.
Thank goodness it wasn't good cop, bad cop, or someone could have lost their teeth.

Re: oh arse..!
this has cheered me up greatly, one small question though....
has Wales had 'our' day yet at this world cup? cos like Ireland they have difficulty stringing those kind of days together (whereas England doesn't so mush as string them, as hastily scrabbles them closer)

nah nah nah, don't give me that 'best chance' arse wobble, I get enough of that supporting England in this RWC.

Re: oh arse..!
Just a pointer, the expression on our day we can beat anyone can only be used if you have evidence of this fact a few times in the recent past, and by recent I mean not just when rugby was televised in colour.
I know you used the expression in tongue and cheek Comfort but it´s popped up elsewhere with a straight face.

Re: oh arse..!
On our day remains a myth thats been atached to the welsh team, all teams say it and a number of english players have actually said it during this RWC in post match interviews, Haskell twice

1. Wales are brilliant.
2. Oh yes they are.
3. Tommy Bowe says so.
4. You shouldn't be gambling anyway, so it's your own fault if that's wrong.
5. Can I have that fiver you owe me?

Re: oh arse..!
Yeah rubygruby. It´s up there with we can be the number one ranked team in the world. Lots of teams are guilty of saying it. Golden era, next (insert famous player), great potential, exciting new talent, yada yada.
5 things for me from Wales.
Momentum - they are building through this tournament.
Confidence - they found ways to avoid defeat where previously they would´ve crumbled.
Balance - there is a nice balance to the team. They have weaknesses, as do all, but their strengths are all over the park.
Away from Wales - nobody else might give them a chance but their fans are fanatic and have very high expectations. The other side of the world is a good place to avoid that hype.
Line breakers - they have in their team players who can get over the advantage line and get valuable yards.

Re: oh arse..!
Blessing in disguise with that one but you need to remember to post a resounding thank you the minute we hoist that cup aloft.
Why Wales will win:
1) Because they will
2) Full strength
3) The picture at the top of the "O'Brien and Warburton clash 'huge'" BBC article.
4) The 70's
5) Just because

Re: oh arse..!
5 points is easy,
1. Welsh scrum will gain dominance which will tie down the Irish back row.
2. Weslh midfield defence is better than Irelands offence.
3. Welsh back three are amongst the most potent finishers in world rugby.
4. Sam Warburton is an out and out openside not a converted blindside.
5. Welsh proved against the boks, samoa, england and argentina that they can cope with the physicality the Irish are suppsed to be bringing.
I could go on but as an Irishman would say, Tiocfaidh ar la
