Russo no longer TNA head booker
ProWrestling.net is reporting that TNA Wrestling has removed Vince Russo as the head creative team writer, and has replaced him with former WWE name Bruce Prichard. Russo is still with TNA, however, as he is considered the senior writer of TV, and continues to write the shows along with Matt Conway.
Prichard, who is also involved in Talent Relations in TNA, has been rumored for the past several months to be taking over Russo's role, and the move became official this week.
The move has not gone without criticism though, as it's being said there is concern in the back with Prichard being given this much power so early on in his run with TNA, especially since he was known for playing political games during his run in WWE

Can only be good news.... Perhaps Russo maybe more useful in a less powerful position with Pritchard filtering out his daft ideas

One for Crips I'd say... He worked behind the scenes in the early to mid 90's in WWF i think as a producer or writer, I think he got pretty high up eventually as one of Vinces 'inner circle'... Before that he was of course the Brother Love character

this sounds like good news but then last week I thought Hogan was retiring for good and now he's just gone and resigned for TNA! So I'm not going to hold my breath....

That would explain why Impact has been infinitely better for the last few weeks.
I'm not sure about Pritchard's booking history. I don't ever remember him being head booker anywhere else but might be wrong.
If the really solid booking on Impact recently is anything to go by, he's doing a fine job so far.

Probably had creative control clauses - i.e. they could interfere in the booking of story lines related to them.

I know the 2 of them were basically running the company so I figured theyd be overseeing creative

They were probably in charge of creative, but they didn't actually get too involved and preferred to let Russo etc get on with it (unless it directly affected them). I don't think either is invested enough in the success or failure of TNA to get too hands-on, and that itself is a problem.

Its frustrating watching TNA for me they dropped the ball on so much, the 2 week illogical heel turns the overloading of talent into Immortal and the fact theyve brought in guys like Jerry Lynn to work Bound For Glory
