Eminem and Arctic Monkeys to headline V Festival 2011

Eminem and Arctic Monkeys have been announced as the headliners at this summer's V Festival.

Dizzee Rascal and Primal Scream will top the bill on the second stage.

The event takes place on 20 and 21 August in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, with acts appearing at both locations.

Now in its 16th year, it will also see performances from Rihanna, Plan B, Kaiser Chiefs, The Script, Tinie Tempah, Pendulum, Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J.

Fans who can't bear the thought of a regular tent can also choose to pay for "luxury" camping facilities such as pop up hotel rooms at the Hylands Park and Weston Park sites.

Arctic Monkeys are currently working on their fourth album Danny O'Donoghue from The Script said: "V Festival was our first ever UK show three years ago. It was a baptism of fire but we survived it.

"We love to play V; it's a real party for both festival goers and bands. We can't wait for it."

I usually like the look of V but this looks the poorest list for a good few years.

One to avoid like the plague...

I’ve been to V a few times and always enjoyed it.
Seen Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, The Killers, QOTSA, Muse, The Pixies, The Hives, The Strokes, James Brown, Stereophonics, Coldplay, Oasis & Manics all at V, this though doesn’t come close.

I'll go just to see Eminem.

Enjoyed his stuff when he started but he’s 38 years old now and still goes on like a petulant teenager about why everything around him screws him over etc. Chillax Mr Mathers.

eminem's new stuff is awful, some of his older stuff is class though.
