Interesting Interview with Jay Lethal
Thought I'd share this as I found it very interesting. Obviously as a former TNA worker he focusses on his opinions of the company.
When asked on his opinions of TNA Destination X
That pay-per-view is probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen. I felt bad
that some of my friends were a part of it. They tried to fool the fans
into thinking that they cared so much about the X but if you look at
some of the hints they were dropping on television, they actually cared
nothing about it…if you look at the Thursday before the pay-per-view,
the last think you hear is about Bound for Glory and the Bound For
Glory tournament, nothing about the X Division as the show closes.
I heard about this, but I didn’t actually believe it till I watched the
go-home show for myself... they didn’t give a s*** about it because the
last thing you heard on the Thursday was something about Bound For
Glory.
I felt so bad for guys like the Young Bucks and the
Machine Guns who had to be a part of it...I don't think TNA really cared
about that pay-per-view, I think it was something to be appease the
people who complained that the X-Division weren’t being featured...I'm
glad I wasn't a part of it.
When asked about the possibility of a return to TNA if they promised him a push
No. At this point in time, absolutely not. And not only because I'm
under contract to ROH...even if I wasn't, that X Division pay-per-view
really left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point in time…no way.
When asked about his time so far in ROH
As far as the in-ring action goes...I've always felt ROH had the best
in-ring product, they just didn't have the right outlet or the chance to
market it to the masses and get it out there. To get it all across the
world. But now that Sinclair is there, they can.
On the possibility of joining FCW/WWE in the future
Yeah, there was talks. I was interested. Living in Florida, that was the
first thing that came to mind. Their developmental school is maybe ten
minutes away from me. I started the wheels moving, it just never panned
out.

So what are peoples thoughts on this? I have always been a huge Jay Lethal fan and thoroughly believe TNA should have pushed him to the moon.

Re: Interesting Interview with Jay Lethal
Sounds bitter to me. The X-Div has really taken off again recently and I think he is jealous that people like Kid Kash and Austin Aries are getting the pushes he feels he deserved.

Re: Interesting Interview with Jay Lethal
I always rated lethal as a solid mid carder and a good worker, his run with flair was entertaining however the creative team behind tna just didn't know what to do with him. This interview however stinks of sour grapes! I didn't find the ppv that bad infact some of the matches were good and I thought the overall concept of having an entire ppv based around the x division decent and gave an opportunity to guys who wouldn't normally make a ppv card, it didn't really pay off though as it lacked the star power that you would expect from a pay per view. I wouldn't say that tna didn't give a s%# about the event as they cared enough to put it on in the first place, it was promoted adequately and the fact that the last thing on impact before the ppv was about BFG is not really a valid point either, would anyone have anything bad to say if wwe mentioned wrestlemania on Raw before another ppv, I guess no! BFG is tna's stand out and grandest event so promoting it shouldn't gain criticism. Sour grapes from a released wrestler!

Re: Interesting Interview with Jay Lethal
Given that TNA are ROH's principle competition in the "other promotion people watch after WWE" it sounds to me like he is trying to curry favour with his new management.

Re: Interesting Interview with Jay Lethal
I think you guys are right to an extent hes obviously angry about how he was treated by TNA but under Bischoff and Hogan the X Division hasnt been looked after. In just over a year the titles changed hands 9 times including 3 reigns for Lethal and one for Amazing Red both of whom arent there anymore.
Even a few years ago they had Angle job to Lethal then had Lethal lose his next match instead of building him up

Angle never jobbed to Lethal, he put him over though, Angle had to fight tooth and nail with the office to put Lethal over cleanly, they wanted to keep Angle strong but Angle thought putting Lethsl over clean is far more beneficial, in the end it was a roll up or a small package, looked a bit flukey but clean, definitely wasn't jobbing though
