Week 6 - Match 3 - Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders
Welcome to the Mohali Stadium, home of the Kings XI Punjab.
Form
(Will do later)
Pitch
Conditions = The pitch should sort any bowlers who can skid it on, this applies to fast, medium and slow bowlers. However, once a batsman gets in scoring will be easier.

Please post tactics below.

Hmm need to get my bowling attack right here, maybe Murali Karthik will sit this one out, as he's not a skiddy type bowler

Team
Gambhir
Kieswetter (wk)
Pietersen (capt)
Umar Akmal
Ganguly
Chitnis
Ten Doeschate
Bresnan
Bipul Sharma
Nehra
Rahul Sharma
Selection: new signing Bipul Sharma comes in in place or Murali Karthik as the only change from last week's narrow loss to competition favourites CSK. There are two reasons for this: firstly, the pitch is tough to bat on, so we're looking to strengthen our batting, and secondly the skiddy nature of the wicket should suit Bipul Sharma more than Karthik who likes to flight the ball more.
Toss - bat first. Once again on difficult pitches I prefer runs on the board, to apply scoreboard pressure. What's more, Morgan aside, the KKR side aren't great chasers.
Batting tactics: Gambhir to anchor the innings, with the rest of the top order playing around him. Order is flexible, with Ganguly possibly being promoted up above Akmal in case of early wickets. Kieswetter and KP should really enjoy the skiddy conditions which means the ball coming onto the bat more, and with plenty of power down the order (Chitnis, RTD, Bresnan and Bipul Sharma are all clean strikers) we should accelerate plenty in the later overs. Good batting down to n°9.
Bowling tactics. Bipul Sharma to open the bowling to Gayle, as we've seen he tends to get over-excited early on. Bresnan would bowl one over from the other end to be replaced by Nehra immediately. When Morgan arrives, Bresnan will immediately come back on, he's a fine bowler to left handers, and his natural angle will hopefully result in Morgan nicking to slip (which KP will have brought in). Otherwise, the middle overs will be shared between RTD, Nehra and Rahul Sharma, with Bresnan and Sharma finishing it off at the death.
Overs (roughly):
Bipul Sharma (1,3,5,11)
Bresnan (2,8(when Morgan is in),18,20)
Nehra (4,6,13,15)
Sharma (7,9,17,19)
RTD(10,12,14,16)
This is only a rough idea obviously, things are adaptable. Ganguly could also be brought on if one of the frontline bowlers is struggling as the skiddy pitch should suit his medium pacers.

Gayle
Kallis
Pujara
Rayudu(wk)
Morgan
Pathan
Shakib
Zaheer
Muralitharan
Ojha
Nechim
Batting order is flexible.
Toss:Bat first
Over allocation
Zaheer:1,3,18,20
Shakib:2,4,6,8
Murali:5,7,17,19
Ojha:,9,11,13,15
Nechim:10,12,14,16
KP will definitely face a lot of left arm spin
I dont have the time to post detailed tactics for this match. So plz judge looking at my team and the over allocation. That should be enough IMO to compare the two teams.
