Welcome to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium home of the Royal Challengers Bangalore

Pitch
Conditions: A slowish pitch but should be a good batting track. Some purchase for the spinners off of the pitch. Fast bowlers who can mix up their paces might find something in the pitch as well.

Looks like a pitch for the likes of Theron, along with the usual spin team.

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
Debating whether to go with Bravo or Afridi at the moment, as Bravo offers another seam option, and my spin options are plentiful with Ashwin Mendis Ajmal and Jakati.
Bravo's batting is probably a little more reliable, too.

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
yh i dont think u need a completely spin based attack, what about albie morkel?

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
Morkel is another one I'm debating. He is a beast with the bat, but Bravo may be slightly better at bowling.
Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
personally i dont think there's anything in it between the two, they can both tee off any time, and they both very good bowlers, but maybe take one of your main spinners out, and play afridi, and one of these two.

suprised srikkanth gets in your side...is there no one else mate? badrinath perhaps?

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
Srikkanth has a better strike rate than Badrinath, though he averages about 6 less. There isn't much to separate the two to be honest.
That above is just a provisional lineup however, and is subject to change so nothing is final.

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
It was done quickly cf, its not that bad a line up. Batting down to 10
Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
Decent lower order batting there.
Not sure they'd be able to cope with the likes of Mendis or Ajmal but then again not a lot of proper batsmen do, either.

Chennai Super Kings
Vijay
Mike Hussey
Badrinath
Raina
Dwayne Bravo
Dhoni
Jakati
R Ashwin
Saeed Ajmal
Rusty Theron
Ajantha Mendis
Toss: Bat first
Left Afridi out for this one, opting instead to play both Ajmal and Mendis to do the damage whilst containing in the middle overs.
Dwayne Bravo will share the new ball with Rusty Theron, mixing up the pace and bowling the odd cutter. Ajmal, Mendis, Ashwin and, if needed, Jakati will bowl the middle overs. Depending on how Bravo is going with the ball he may bowl his full allocation, but if the first two are expensive they'd likely be taken up by spin, with Theron returning at the death alongside Ajmal.
Dhoni moves in to the top 6 for this game, with lower order batting being provided by all-rounder Jakati and Ashwin, if needed. Ajmal isn't too bad with the bat, but I wouldn't expect him to need to on this pitch.
I'm looking to bat first and get a big score, before my spinners squeeze the life out of the RCB innings.

Re: Week 6 - Match 4 - Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings
I didn't think it really mattered for this game, cf. Pretty confident of beating RCB regardless of which one of those two plays.
Bravo I feel has the slightly tighter bowling, whereas Morkel is the bigger hitter with the bat. Not much between them, really.
