Schofield departs!!!
I would just like to say good luck to Chris Schofield, it is no secret amongst Surrey fans that Im not his biggest admirer, I just dont think he was quite good enough but he was an honest player who always gave 100% and did a decent job in one day cricket. Hope he finds another club and gets a game cheers Schoey for the good and bad times

Re: Schofield departs!!!
Seems odd as he's had a very good year in the CB40, but I suppose we need more youth coming through and Schofield's only going to get worse in the future.
Interesting fact - he had the second highest average with the bat for Surrey in the Championship this season.

Re: Schofield departs!!!
Clearly Schofield's bowling was not good enough for the four day game.
But I think he was very decent one day player - often with the bat and sometimes with the ball. I think what has done for his prospects are the strong performance of Spriegel in the CB 40, the promising start made by Zafar ("unusually ....intelligent") Ansari, plus to a lesser extent Hyphen enjoying a bit of success with his own limited overs bowling. I guess there's a limit to how many players you can retain if realistically they will never play in the championships.
I wish Schofield well - I think he could still play a useful role for another county that was looking to boost their performance in limited overs.
