He'd do well to reach half that amount.

Seen as he's only on "1 in a row" at the moment and 24 yo, he'll have to go some to have won 8 and be 31 yo - isnt going to happen. Maybe 4-5 years.

Federer turned professional in 1998, and is on his 13th year.
Djokovic turned pro in 2003 is on his 8th year. The worrisome part are the injuries in 2011 and how much it has taken out of him already. If he can manage his schedule, he could achieve Federer's longevity.

Can Novak recover fully from his back-injury?
Will he be as physically healthy and as physically fit at the start of 2012 as he was at the start of 2011?
Can he win a French Open title?
Will he break the record for the most number of ball bounces before serving?
All these questions and many more will be answered in the fullness of time.

In three year time (i.e. half that amount) who on earth is going to be around to stop him? I think that we forget that the standard at the Top is at it's highest ever, hence a Nole of 2009/10 will probably be good enough in three years time to still win a Slam a year. However, I'm not certain of 8 years on the trot
I'm fascinated as to who people think are the obvious heirs to the current Top 4. Only a fool would put any money on any of the current youngsters, who do not give you the feeling that this is the next Federer or even Nole
Remember, getting to the Top 10 is the easy part. Getting in the Top 4 is extremely hard, just ask Cilic, Del Potro, Tsonga, Gasguet etc ALL of who were going to blast the supposedly 'poor' Nole and Murray out of the water, judged by the number of comments a couple of years ago
I always think that if you've got a negative point (i.e. so and so won't be able to do this) then you have to be able to justify why
