Youngsters to keep an eye on
With the rise of Warburton, North etc in just a season or two just wondered if there are any more youngsters coming through touted for big things - Dont get too see much club rugby so would be interested to hear of any that are really standing out as world class 'potential'

Couple of youngsters at the Scarlets are being tipped as future big talents, Aled Davies (scrumhalf) and Adam Warren (centre)

From the O's: Dirksen, Tipuric and Beck
Scarlets: Gareth Davies, Steven Shingler
Seen really exciting performances from all of these players, for example, Tipuric showing his athleticism:

Watch the Ospreys vs Saints game on SS1 right now and you will see a host of young welshmen playing superbly well for the Ospreys
Half time and its 19-10 to the ospreys youth team vs first choice Saints team...

Tipuric has been playing very well so far for the Ospreys this season, he and Turnbull have been putting their hands up for a while now

Dragons- Adam Hughes and that young fullback who debuted towards the end of the past season.
Blues- I want to say Navidi but I haven't seen much of him for a while.

The young Dragons fullback was Steffan Jones who was playing outside half today. He was very good and very mature for 20 year old, impressive kicking other than one miss in the first half. The dragons blooded a 17 year old at fullback, Hallam Amos, who looked ok.
Agree Navidi is one to look out for but he's got a lot of competition at openside.

Re: Youngsters to keep an eye on
Is it me, or are nearly all the youngsters we have coming through are backs (tupiric excluded)?
We seem to be able to create young backs quite regularly, but the brutes up from seem to be like rocking horse poop
Why can't we make some good forwards? The osprey young pack and the Dragon pack were destroyed by the English teams tonight .

I thought Sam Lewis and Morgan Allan played pretty well for the Ospreys

But still the scrum was mullered by their English counterparts countless times and their driving maul was very effective against the youngsters.
I just hope that we can produce a couple of Adam jones's in the very near future.

Dont we all...
I hear that scientists at the University have had Adam in constantly trying to breed some kind of super prop from his genetics. They have been trying to encourage him to mate with one of the Quinnell girls.
If I hear any more Ill let you know.

Re: Youngsters to keep an eye on
The regions should be scouring for the biggest fatest props they can find, they should then be played for the first half of every regional game for a year
After a year decide which ones to keep and hand them over to the welsh fitness team
I don't want props with lovely hands.
AUS props looked like they were picked for size first and ball and tackling skills last.
Look at catrogiovanni he has one purpose and that's to scrum.

Re: Youngsters to keep an eye on
Its true...
The Ospreys seem to have a good school for props, Bevington is progressing well, Mitchell too. The youngsters look good for youngsters. Joe Rees (21) has been very impressive on the tight. He did a great job on Tonga'uiha when he came on.

And to be fair at the other regions their are some good props. Simon Gardiner at the Scarlets looks as good a find at tighthead as any i have seen. Athletic and a good scrummager

Re: Youngsters to keep an eye on
maestegmafia, Agree about the Joe Rees comment.
Who doe you think the Ospreys coaching team rate as their second best TH to Adam Jones?
That Bath prop they signed (Jarvis?) wasn't v good against Northants, was he?
