Just thought a poll might help

Such a late stage of the comp, I think we should just leave the results as they are.

I voted for a 4/7 calculator, but I guess we could just leave them as they are, thereby guaranteeing us a result in each of the remaining games.

I think that it would be more beneficial to the competition now we're reaching the latter stages.

What's the point in bringing a person for 2 weeks? It's just a waste of their time in my opinion.

I wasn't referring to whatever you've gone for, cf, I'm merely stating a logical opinion. If a new coach comes in, he can't make any transfers, and will only have to prepare for 3 games. It's pointless, we may as well just say that the 7 coaches vote, and that way we're always going to have a direct result.

Not really cf, the point of a vote is that the majority wins.

don't think it's worth finding a new coach TBH, for what? three weeks. Seems a bit late to me... Torn between leaving results as they are or using a 4/7 calculator, both decent options to me. Using a 4/7 calculator is prob the fairest way of deciding the final vote, but it's still random...

Oh a 4/7 calculator basically would give a 4 out of 7 chance to the side leading of winning the match but only a 3 out of 7 chance of the match ending in a draw.

There is a name for it but I cannot remember it atm

Something like that - and technically my subject too

Broadly you draw a random number* between 0 and 1 (e.g. 0.5368411 or 0.147936 etc etc). If the number is less that 3/7 the match is drawn (4-4), otherwise it's a 5-3 win


*Getting technical, draw it from a set of numbers univariately distributed between 0 and 1.

I've previous worked as an analyst/statistician/SAS programmer for Statistics NZ (civil service), 2 large telcos, a bank, and a marketing agency.

Sadly someone else got my dream job, using SAS to do statistical analysis for the NZ cricket team

my bowling attack is world class, have a look on my deccan page, just the batting is weak.

I am a big fan of Tahir and Riaz, and obviously Steyn is a quality, quality bowler.

Riaz often dosent get in my side. Steyn hasnt got in the last two sides. Because i have played on slow low turners, and gone in with 3 spinners, and wayne parnell, because his cutters are more useful on them sort of pitches.

my attack on the m pitches has been

Parnell
Borthwick : them two opening

Doshi
Tahir
Hussey/White/Wagh

Got a lot of options in your bowling attack.

Lots of good sides built up in the competition, think I've been left a prettyc decent one though.
