Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
Welcome to the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, home of the Delhi Daredevils
Pitch Conditions: A pitch which will suit bowlers who can skid the ball on. Those who hit the deck may have a harder time as the ball may sit up. Spin may be effective if only to slow the run rate. Should be a corker of a game to watch for any neutrals.

Reckon I have the ammo for this pitch. Hopefully going to be a 3rd win in 3 for the Daredevils.

Thats semi final reaching form!
Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
i wont have to worry about morkel thats a relief. As like it says those who hit the deck will sit up, so thats a result.
that in mind however, gonna have to think long and hard about this game. Some tough calls might be made.

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
I am making a late surge, which is surprising as early doors I thought I'd probably only be midtable!
Got a tricky game against Chennai coming up but think I can make the semi's.
Think the likes of McDonald may feature prominently in this game. Definitely going to play Ray Price.

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
Deccan's bowlers look like the pitch will suit them, with Steyn and their spinners enjoying the conditions, but Delhi have excellent batting and I worry Deccan's batting may be a bit weak on a tricky pitch.

Varun Aaron is a skiddy bowler. So the pitch should suit him.Dont play Morkel on this one.

I'm thinking Dilhara Fernando as an option.

I think Deccan have a chance if they can get S'wag early. This is not a bouncy pitch. So S'wag will fancy batting over her.S'wag vs Steyn would be some contest.

DECCAN TACTICS
1.Manvinder Bisla (WK)
2.Sunny Sohal
3.Harpreet Singh
4.Cameron White
5.David Hussey (C)
6.David Miller
7.Shrikant Wagh
8.Nayan Doshi
9.Dale Steyn
10.Abhimanyu Mithun
11.Imran Tahir
Toss: Bat first, and defend with good bowling attack
Team news: Bisla to open with mishra dropped after poor form. David Miller comes in to strnegthen the batting, with Steyn back for Parnell, and Mithun in for Borthwick.
Batting: Bisla to play the anchor role, while Sohal hits the early boundaires. Harpeet plays his normal game, with white hitting the boundaires in the middle overs. Hussey and Miller keep the scoreboard ticking over, with Wagh coming into hit the boundaires towards the end. Steyn at 9 can give it a hit as well.
Bowling: Styen and Mithun to take the new ball, and bowl 2 overs each at the start. Wagh first change to bowl his skiddy medium pacers, with doshi and tahir bowling in the middle overs. Hussey can bowl if needed. Steyn and mithun bowl at the death.
Steyn,1,3,17,19
Mithun,2,4,18,20
Wagh,5,7,14,16
Doshi,6,8,10,12

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
Reckon if my openers rode out Steyn then my order could take this attack to the cleaners. I've won my last two both bowling and batting first so I've got some decisions to make.

my attack is very good, and steyn is a skiddy bowler he is perfect for this pitch

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
He is a good bowler, yes. But he's only bowling 4 overs, and I have decent players of spin.

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
well my tactics are up, and im very happy that i have strengthened my batting by finding a place for David Miller. I will let the voters do what they want to do, as its down to them and not us.

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
your top 3 is still pretty average, but the rest of your side is looking pretty good, with the bowlers well suited to these conditions.

Re: Week 7 - Match 5 - Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
Delhi Tactics.
1) Sehwag
2) Warner
3) Taylor
4) McDonald
5) Jaffer
6) Pathan
7) Ojha
8) Ganesh
9) Arafat
10) Price
11) Aaron
Bowling Composition.
Aaron - 4 (2,4,6,8)
Arafat - 4 (14,16,18,20)
Price - 4 (9,11,13,15)
Pathan - 2 (5,7)
Ganesh - 2 (10,12)
McDonald - 4 (1,3,17,19)
Toss - Bowl first, with the aim of skittling Deccan on the cheap and chasing a small total to negate their bowlers mild threat on this pitch.
Bowling - McDonald and Aaron will open bowling, with both being suited to this pitch massively, McDonald's accuracy and porbing line and length with cause Bisla and Sohal problems, whilst Aaron's pure pace and skiddy bowling will prove to be yet another challenge for the Deccan openers. McDonald will bowl 2 of his 4 whilst Aaron will see his spell through, with the experienced Pathan replacing the Aussie. Once Aaron has completed his effective, wicket taking spell, he and Pathan will be replaced by the spinning tandem of Ganseh and Ray Price, who will look to contain the middle overs between them, making the batsman try and hit out to the field. Ganesh will bowl two overs, while Price will bowl out a spell. Ganesh will make way for Arafat, a late overs specialist who will bowl through to the end and prevent the batsmen scoring whilst taking regular wickets. At the conclusion of Price's miserly spell, McDonald will return to tandem the final overs with Arafat. With this attack and Deccan's order, I fancy reducing them to between 100-120, giving my batsman an easyish total to chase.
Batting - Obviously the pitch plays to Deccan but my batsmen are some of the most resourceful in the world at the moment, and I have opted to comprise a side which will bat all the way down to 9. Warner and Sehwag will go out and look to see off Steyn's opening two overs whilst attacking Mithun, if all goes to plan, Steyn won't be back again. Once the talismanic saffer is out the attack, the batsmen can open their shoulders, Warner and Sehwag can brutalise any spin bowler or medium pacer, whilst in reserve are Taylor and McDonald, whom were colossal figures in Leicestershires t20 win, who can hit boundaries and score fluently. Adaptibility will be key as no doubt Tahir will trouble, but back up consisting of Jaffer, Pathan and Ojha are more than capable of playing, whilst Ganesh has an average in the late twenties and Arafat is known for his late order slogging.
All in all, I'm pretty confident of making it 3 wins from 3 and carrying on my impressive form.
