Can Spurs Make the Top 4?
I reckon Spurs have a stronger squad than two years ago when they made 4th. They've Parker, Adebayor, Friedel. Competition is fierce. Arsenal and Chelsea are obvious top-four contenders and then there's Liverpool and Newcastle. The two Manchester clubs are, IMHO, likely to take the top two places. Inclined to think that Chelsea were favourites for third, but it's not certain.
Incidentally, three of the top five have conceded at least five goals in a home match this season. Arsenal have conceded eight at OT. Who'd have thunk it ? Forget all this talk of poor defending. Like me, I bet you're glad the goals are going in.
So, top four this season?

I take it you mean Liverpool. They and Newcastle are perhaps the outsiders for the top four spot which could come down to a straight fight between Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs, with one missing out. We'll learn a lot about Newcastle's challenge if they get something out of tonight's - tough - trip to Stoke.jro786 wrote:contenders for 4th along with us and arsenal?
yes
Not sure if anyone else is gonna come into the picture with an amazing run.

Spurs to finish 5th I think. I think Liverpool will pip them to 4th with united, city and chelsea being the top 3 but not sure which order. Arsenal to finish 6th.

Tottenham have a stronger squad than Liverpool and much so Arsenal. I still wouldn't rule out The Gunners, although the way Tottenham are playing I think they will pip 4th.
Liverpool are to inconsistent

No way will we challenge for 4th spot.
I said at the start of the season that I fancied Spurs for 4th spot, they've got one of the best midfields in the league and now they have Adebayor upfront I don't see why not.

winning 8 in 9, generally think they can be the most effective London club in this title race this season.

If they can establish a settled back four then I think they'll make the Champions League spots quite easy. They are beating the teams they should be beating. Liverpool ain't.
It's not even beyond the realms of possibility that they finish inside the top 3.

Think Chelsea have been poor so far this season, but think it's due to them playing a more open style and perhaps not having the right team to do that. (Not enough pace)
As for the question can Spurs make 4th? You bet they can, they have a fantastic team in terms of strength and depth and stand out players that can win you games (Bale, Modric, Van Der Vaart, Adebayor, Lennon) with the inclusion of a more stable feeling with Spurs this season, the possibility of keeping King fit for more than half a season and Kyle Walker really coming into his own why the hell can't they?
They're a nightmare for any team with the pace they have and could perhaps outlast the teams like Newcastle and Liverpool, Arsenal lose Van Persie and that's there season over. So yeah without a doubt Tottenham are as of this moment the front runners for 4th in my opinion, but wouldn't be shocked if Liverpool come good this season.

I think 4th spot is between two teams, Arsenal and Spurs, so Yes is the very obvious answer!

Re: Can Spurs Make the Top 4?
Yes, they now have an extremely strong midfield, a striker (Adebayor) who will score twenty goals over the season, and a reliable goalkeeper. Their defence was already quite good. They also have more strength-in-depth, and...more importantly, few of the other top six (Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool) are much stronger than last season.
I think they'll finish 3rd or 4th, though the fixture list seems to have saved most of the toughest away fixtures for the last third of their season.

I think it's a comprehensive Yes when asked if they could make the Champions League but that's not to say they will, what they've got in their favour is they have a settled side, the fact that side is loaded with good players is also helpful, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea the other three teams vying for 3rd and 4th it should be a very interesting season
