Khan should play the long game!!
First topic message reminder :
Have no doubts that this guy will be number one p4p in two years time.....However that's if he waits Mayweather and Manny out!!! Doesn't make any sense for Khan to pursue these two and risk a heavy loss...For sure they are big paydays but......
1. Once these two go there will be a shortage of big names..hence fat HBO contracts flying in his direction...
2. Still needs to mature..and he has plenty of time.
3. Donaire and Martinez haven't the flair or the personality to be Boxing's next torchbearers.....Khan has an exciting style and an engaging personality...
4. Khan has the opposition and the sliding/deteriorating names to overtake his opposition to the number 1 throne.....Also has the physique to carry 147 and above.....Why not bang out Bradley and then move onto the ghosts of Cotto and Marg etc.....A star-less HBO will be glad to feed on anything!!!
Why risk his golden future for Mayweather.......He doesn't need him!!!!
Khan should play the long game!!! He's got the World in his hands..

It's an interesting point Truss, you elude to the mythical p4p number 1 slot being awarded on popularity rather than the fighter with the best record....
Personally, I think Donaire is a better fighter to watch than Khan and Gamboa surely has potential to be a blockbuster.

Am with you on Bradley, that would be huge, to say he's cleaned up the best in the division would give him a substantial record with gradually tougher fights.
Still, has to get the W over Peterson first!

Petersen won't be a problem...won't be able to cope with the jab..
Bradley and the purse share makes that fight unlikely..
Bradley has an inflated sense of his worth...

I have that one on film, too. Never knew what to make of it and, curiosity aroused, it seems I'm going to need to dig it out and watch it again to see if I can this time.
I think Carpentier was just too big for Lewis and read Lewis was looking for an excuse in losing more than anything and what happened was prefectly fair. Anyway, Lewis must have hated Jack Britton being that they fought each other once a week for about fifteen years!

Not sure about that but here's the knockout anyway. It looks suspiciously like a forearm smash which did Lewis.
Although in real time, it looks like a great finishing punch, if you look closely, Lewis was actually gone before the final punch landed. Look at the slow motion at the end of the clip to best see it. It was the penultimate 'punch' which did him. So devastating was the force that it leads me to believe it was a forearm smash. You decide...

How many PPVs has Khan sold? It wasn't Sky's decision to put him onto their PPV platform, it was Warren having to force it to cope with the increase in money Khan was demanding. The PPVs then bombed (not even 50k buys).
Oscar on the other hand earnt PPV status and did silly numbers when he went onto it.

Yeah, Oscar took longer to get onto it, but then did an average of 600k buys i.e. went on when he was PPV worthy rather than before.coxy0001 wrote:How many PPVs has Khan sold? Re: Khan should play the long game!!
I hope this is a ploy by Khan. He can't seriously move up without establishing he's number one in his division can he!
Otherwise it'll look suspiciously like he offered the deal to Bradley when he knew Bradley was splitting from his promoter. Or have I missed something?
Khan thinks he's worth 70/30?
Ok he sells more tickets, but Bradley beat Alexander and that fight was for number one in the division. 50/50 split for me this fight, and Khan really needs to make this fight happen now.
