Week 8 - Match 5 - Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians
Welcome to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, home of the Rajasthan Royals
Pitch Conditions: A flat pitch with some cracks in it making it a great batting track especially in the first innings, as the match goes on the slower bowlers will come into play as the cracks start to widen. Batsman will love batting on this track and bowlers should love trying to out think the batsman.

He cant move as the window is shut. Plus he understands the situation and would rather shoot himself than play for the Chargers!
Actually having selection problems again this week

For the next IPL all the rosters will be reset, just to let everyone know. With squads correct as per IPL5
Re: Week 8 - Match 5 - Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians
1) Sachin Tendulkar (c)
2) Shikhar Dhawan - U25
3) Tilikaratne Dilshan - O
4) Rohit Sharma - U25
5) Manoj Tiwary - U25
6) Kieron Pollard - O U25
7) Pinal Shah (wk) - U25
8) Harbhajan Singh
9) Umar Gul - O
10) Lasith Malinga - O
11) Monty Panesar - O
Toss: Bat First get huge runs on the board and then turn the screws with the spinners in the second innings.
Team news: We need a victory this week and on a pitch which might just do something for the spinners Panesar comes in as a second frontline spinner. A very hard decision as this meant that none of Prior, VDM or Ryder could play. Chahal just misses out only due to the fact that Panesar has much more experience and at this crunch time in the season that could be the difference that gets the Indians into the Semi Finals.
Batting: Tendulkar needs no explanation, Dhawan who is massively underrated will look to hit through the line on a pitch which should aid his power hitting. Dilshan at 3 can steady the innings however he will be looking to play all of his great shots, Dil-Scooop off of Warne anyone? Rohit and Manoj at 4 and 5 are great young players who can play all of the shots in the book and play spin incredibly well. Pollard is in at 6 to hit out and hopefully push us close to 200. Shah at 7 can bat if needed and the tail (except for Monty!) can all swing a bat if needed. However, on this pitch with our batting line up they shouldn't be required.
Bowling: We will open up with Harby who will look to trap Watson early on. Watson struggles a little bit against spin and we will look to exploit this. Malinga and Gul will then come on and bowl 2 overs each and look to exploit the cracks. Plus with their explosive pace they will always be a handful. The final powerplay over will be bowled by Dilshan who has bowled in powerplays for his country numerous times and on a pitch where spin will be starting to play a part. After the powerplay Monty will come straight on and bowl his 4 overs straight. Monty is a great t20 bowler and is a very very clever bowler. He will look for the spin off of the pitch as well as switching up his lines and length to outhink the Rajasthan batsmen. Harby will come on at the other end and bowl his next 2 overs before being replaced by Kieron Pollard. Pollard will look to outhink the batsman and bowl cutters. If Pollard is too expensive then his second over will be bowled by Dilshan. Harby will bowl over 15 to complete his quota before Dilshan bowls over 16. Dilshan feeds on pressure as shown in the World Cup this year. The last 4 overs will be bowled by the greatest death bowling partnership in the competition in Gul and Malinga. We should be down through the Royals batting line up and with scoreboard pressure these two should have a sensational time.
Overs
Harbhajan - 4 overs (1,8,10,15)
Malinga - 4 overs (2,4,17,19)
Gul - 4 overs (3,5,18,20)
Dilshan - 2/3 overs (6,14,16)
Panesar - 4 overs (7,9,11,13)
Pollard - 1/2 overs (12,14)

Re: Week 8 - Match 5 - Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians
good side mate, although i think you might be overrating monty a bit. IMO he isnt a great t20 bowler, he is a much better bowler in f/c cricket than he is limited overs cricket.
he is a good t20 bowler not a great one.

Re: Week 8 - Match 5 - Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians
Watson
Dravid
Sangakkara (w)
Karthik
Uthappa
Razzaq
Manhas
Shukla
Botha
Warne (c)
Ishant
Toss - Bat first. Want to put runs on the board as my spinners are excellent at defending totals. Also the pitch will deteriorate. However , if I have to bat second i have great chasers in Razzaq and Watson.
Selection - Yadav is out due to the nature of the pitch with an extra batting all rounder included in Laxmi Shukla. Menaria's spin should be effective on this wicket.
Batting - My top 6 have all played international cricket and 5 of them are from the subcontinent, so will be used to wickets like these. Watson will also be used to this sort of pitch as he has plenty of experience in subcontinental conditions. The team has capable batsmen down to Warne at 10 as I have included four all rounders for this game. Watson, who loves the off spinner will look to attack against Harbhajan. Watson and the experienced Dravid and Sangakkara will also look to defend against Malinga and attack against the rest, while Karthik and Uthappa will attack throughout. Razzaq's position in the order will change depending on wickets lost. He'll look to come in around the 14th over, so he can face sufficient balls to cause mayhem.
Bowling - Ishant and Watson will open the bowling.. Notoriously economical off spinner Johan Botha will come on after 4 overs. Razzaq, who's cutters will be extremely useful on this surface will bowl the 7th over after the PP is over. I have plenty of medium and slow bowling options. If Ishant goes well in his first spell he'll get an extra over at the death at the expense of Razzaq. My spinners should prove very economical on this type of wicket.
Watson 1,3,18,20 (4 overs)
Ishant 2,4,6 (3 overs)
Botha 5,11,13,17 (4 overs)
Razzaq 7,9,19 (3 overs)
Warne 8,10,14,16 (4 overs)
Menaria 12,15 (2 overs)
