Monday Night Wars
Monday Night Wars
For me, this was the most exciting time to watch wrestling as both shows were pulling out all the stops in the battle for ratings.
But as the attitude era began, so did the demise of WCW.
But ratings aside, which did you prefer to watch at the time?

Ah Friday nights!
Watching Nitro on TNT then switching to Sky Sports for RAW, those were the days!
Usually used to watch them both but when they started running closer together I'd watch RAW and flick to Nitro every now and again.

I was about 9 at the time and only knew of RAW, and I'd catch that on the friday night and get SmackDown on a saturday morning.
Ah the memories.

I hated Raw as a kid, grew up watching Nitro it was to me the better show. The nWo storyline was captivating. The old Friday Night Wars great memories.
I thought Thunder sucked though, none of the top guys were on often.

I was a WWF boy, I didn't even know WCW was on TNT after Cartoon Network, I used to only get to catch it on the German channel and try and catch what they where saying over the German dub, by 97 I'd moved into a new house and that area only did a certain selection of channels, all the mains so RAW was the only option until ECW came on Bravo

Like Gaffer I didn't know TNT was on after the cartoon network. No Internet back then. I didn't watch Raw that much until around mid 97 following the Bret Hart heel turn. Was such a Hart mark I only started watching Nitro after the screwjob. I remember seeing Rude on Nitro going on about Shawn Michaels never having beat Bret Hart I remember thinking WTF.
Started taping both (as it was at the age where I could get in pubs) although my cable box sometimes wouldn't program & fail to change channels.
