I don't like his odds for the win at WTF anymore, i'd sooner back no weapons Ferrer!

Hee Hee. He said that he wasn't playing Paris for the money bonus. But then who could blame him and he couldn't have said anything different.

absolutely Nore, if you offer someone 1.6 million to turn up, of course he's going to, and no one can blame him for doing so. He obviously can't say "I'm only here for the money" either. He gave it a go, but clearly he was still hurting, so he logically pulls out. All fair enough IMO.

Here's a good article of couple of days ago.

That answers Djoko's appearance in Paris.

Very logical and smart move for Nole. I am impressed with this entire Parisian move.

Re: Djoko pulls out of Paris
Don't blame Djokovic for being tempted to play when injured as it was a huge amount of money. Still feel uneasy about the temptation being put there in the first place. Really not wise to persuade top players to take risks with injury for cash.
All this talk of bonus payments has covered up what may be a real problem for Djokovic. He has what appears to be a chronic injury. He has had problems with his shoulder since Cincinnati. Will he be able to play in a few days time at the WTF. Will he be fit enough to be able to play at the beginning of the season in 2012?
s
The ATP lost one top 4 player this year through illness (Soderling). It would be a shame if it lost one next year through injury

Feel sorry for the fans who have paid to see a 1/4 final that won't happen. Do the ATP refund any money to them?

From what I saw Djokovic was doing his best to give the crowd a semi final but Troiki just wouldn't oblige...
The crowd being deprived of competative tennis is another reason this sort of Bonus payment is not a good idea.

Re: Djoko pulls out of Paris
I think Djoko's shoulder tendinitis is related to the return to his old service motion.
This is the reason why Martin tried to change his serve. Of course that failed miserably, however, whilst the old action may be more reliable, it is also more taxing on his shoulder.
This could very well turn into a chronic problem.

The words 'jumping' and 'gun' spring to mind. Federer hits the ball a bit harder than Djokovic yet he isn't permanently struggling to use his shoulder! This could very well turn into a chronic problem.
Also, lol at giving any credit to Martin.

I don't. Parisians don't love Nole anyway, they can have their beloved Fed instead to their hearts content...after all that's who they really want!

And if he was to meet Tsonga in the final would they still want him I wonder!

I reckon they would, esp if Tsonga started to choke...
