It's like real life CF. You have 4-6 weeks off and then another 4-6 weeks of pre-season training, so there will be a gap of 8-10 weeks

Sodhat - honestly, not really. 4 wins to Benfica, 6 draws
Hey, more people thought we'd draw than lose, so for me that ain't so bad.
Hopefully I'll get some wonga over the pre-season and I can get some attacking quality in, and strengthen in defence.
Will reasons be going up? I'd like some feedback on my tactics on that one, think I went a little too attacking.

Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 1, Page 7
Lyon v Liverpool
Lyon almost holds out but late Suarez winner seals it for Liverpool
Both team concentrate on keeping it tight at back and succeed, Canceling each other out
Both teams are set out well but I think Liverpool have too much firepower in Huntelaar, Albrighton and Suarez and will take all 3 points.
both played very well and tactics were very well thought out but liverpool just are able to steal a goal to win
liverpool lacking creativity through the middle
The tactics of Lyon were spot on to nullify the quality of Liverpool, kept it solid for the first 60 mins then wore the Liverpool team down and a 2nd came as a breakaway goal in injury time.
Lyon did well to stop the threat of Suarez, they did thier homework on him and this reduced the Liverpool attack. Forfana and Gonalons did well breaking up things. Bonucchi did not need to kick his man costing his team a freekick which Lyon scored. Liverpool struggled to get behind the Lyon defence for most of the match.
Malaga v Juventus
Walcotts pace willopen up gaps and will eventually get the winner himself
Walcott being advised to use both feet to get crosses means that despite the greater threat, final cross/pass was lacking and malaga get draw
I think a much improved Juventus have too much to handle for a Malaga team which is currently a work in progress
Malaga even though they are improving struggled with the much improvged juventus team
an even match with two reasonable sides
good defense and a solid attack better than juve
The unthinkable finally happens and the Old Lady gets their first victory of the season. The danger coming from the Juve wings with the speed of Walcott proving decisive.
Malaga may have edged the game but Juve were strong enough to keep themselves in it. Walcott would have been better starting on the right as he his left foot is rubbish.
Benfica v Lazio
Both teams look strong going forward and will be a few goals.
benfica's Quality just enough to get through a closely fought match
I can't call it. Lazio have just about enough in defence to hold a strong Benfica side back
A draw here as both teams and tactics seem matched up well
Benfica a better all round but could use better cm's
Very closely matched tactics but the strength of the Benfica side especially at home got the 3 points
Lazio are a very solid team and it will take a lot to beat them, I feel Lazio need to bring in better wingers which will help them massiveley. Benefica were very strong and able to keep the ball.

"This week we have had an issue identified regarding tactics being too similar from previous weeks. It is not sufficient to simply take last weeks tactics and adjust them for who you are playing, when other managers are putting more time and effort in.
Where tactics are not sufficiently different from previous weeks and is apparent that you have just used the previous weeks tactics and amended, you will be penalised with a 2 goal deduction. Due to this, no one is allowed to delete their previous tactics"
Nick can you please stick that on the homepage please.

Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 1, Page 7
Sorry gents.
I am going to keep on as the runner for my league, but I don't have the time to submit the required tactics. It was me penalised for my tactics being too similar as I always use my previous weeks as a base. I don't have enough time to start from scratch each week, and it seems pointless to get 2 goal deductions each week.

CF if you can bring in an Everton or Fiorentina manager in you will get loads of money. Can everyone please go and find two managers.
Re: Furious Football Association © : HomePage Season 1, Page 7
I may also have to step down from my managerial post. I too do the same as Afro and copy/paste basic instructions each week. Untill I am clear on the situation my position at Lyon will be under doubt.

With regards to the tactics issue.
I thought from the start that we couldn't use the same tactics as done in previous weeks. I do write mine from scratch each week, but I also understand there are more important things in life than a fantasy football game and people dont have the time.
I dont want to see any managers quitting over this, rather lets come to a compromise? If the majority of managers are ok with utilising previous tactics then can we all agree that is ok for everyone to do?

Quite honestly i use the same formation most weeks and if you don't know the other guys tactics you go with what you thinks correct which more often then not is what ud use most the time.

Decision made today CF. I was pulled up on my tactics being too similar to last week. Every week I take last weeks tactics and I then amend for the current week.
Ultimately it means that a lot of my basic tactics are the same and the only changes are the game specific ones.
A call was made that if they were too similar, it is unfair on the managers who put more effort in. I personally don't agree because I put a lot of time into my preparation and scouting the opposition. However the call was made and I have to play within the rules.
I already take advantage at work with the amount of time that goes into injuries, lawyers, TPs, updating the league pages and also managing a team, that I don't think I can dedicate more time to type out tactics from scratch each week. Therefore, I have given up the team and will just have the league running jobs to take my time.
Sorry.

Not at all.
Hero queried it and I agree with him. I haven't quit because I disagree. I quit because I cannot put the time needed in.
I have no issues with it and I am quite happy with my decision

fair enough afro, just remeber though, we do all understand that there is more to life than this...
and also whilst your supposed to be working you are still managing to run the league.

Plus isn't that more life like? You play your strongest side week in and week out. Flip side to this is that you assess the tactics of the club your playing against and plan accordingly. However, we can't do due to the gentlemanly agreement.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I know I have just joined but how about this for an idea......you PM your tactics to the correct league leader direct. We keep to a deadline and stick to it (if you miss it, tough). Then the league leaders post them all up altogether the next day and we vote as usual. Then when the results of that weeks games have been collected and given out, the tactics used are posted up somewhere else and you are free to look at them for the next weeks games. Only that previous weeks tactics are posted (so you only get one set of tactics per team). That way, you can change your team based upon what your opponent did the previous week, assessing their weaknesses and strengths. However, as they have been PMed first, you cannot see what your opponent's tactics are for the game against you, until the deadline has passed. That way a good manager can beat a better team with better tactics based on this information, and everyone has a level playing field.
