What a 147 - Unbelevable!
This has to be the most amazing 147 of all time.
The Whirlwind Jimmy White in May this year 2011 at a Legends Tour Event broke off smashing the pack from the break and pocketing a red. He then went on to produce a 147. Its the first 'break and dish' 147 I have ever seen.
Come and watch the break online at onthebaize.com The Cuesport Community.

Just saw it. Final red to black was awesome.
Also incredible cueing to get from pink to black.

So it seems Jimmy has still got it, just a shame that for his age now he just cannot mentally handle the strain of competing with the younger top players, many of whom Jimmy would have beaten during Jimmy's prime year as a snooker player in 1982 before he got that mental scarring he suffered V Alex Higgins in that famous semi final match.

What a legend, the last of the old school heroes in snooker.
My two favourite memories of him were the classic commentry " And Jimmy needs just one ball to take this" on his return from the operation to remove his cancerous testicle, and his appearence in this movie ( seriously track down a copy)

Yes I saw that. Fantastic.
Bit of nostalgia... I have a playing mate in Wellington here who got a 147 off the break... not a tournament match but for my reckoning the best player to come out of NZ.

"In April 2002 the New Zealand No2, amateur Harry Haenga, father of national champion Daniel Haenga, scored a 147 off the break against Glenn Gemmel at the Porirua Club, near Wellington, New Zealand. This was not in a tournament but was witnesses by two A Grade players, one of whom is a NZ representative and the other is a Referee. "
Often beat Dene Okane here and actually beat Stephen Hendry in section play of the world champs (mind you Hendry was 16 or so!).
Just became too hard for him to break into the pro scene and is still winning tournaments here at nearly 60. Still knocking in hundreds daily... and still painting...plays purely for the love of the game..
