6 Nations Friday Night Games
Wales' game with England next week will be the last Friday night match in the Six Nations for the foreseeable future.
Championship chief executive John Feehan has confirmed the experiment, run for the last two years, will be scrapped for 2012 and 2013.
The Six Nations will still end with three games on Saturday but on every other weekend there will be two games on the Saturday and one on the Sunday.
The introduction of Friday night Six Nations games has proved controversial.
Wales play England at the Millennium Stadium on 4 February in the first Friday night opener of a Six Nations Championship in its 128-year history.
The match is also the first time that two home union sides will meet on a Friday night as France and Wales have competed in the previous fixtures.
France met Wales at the Stade de France in 2009 in the first Friday night game in the Championship's history - a 21-16 home victory - before the corresponding fixture in Cardiff in 2010, which France won 26-20.
The Six Nations' Friday night trial has not been popular with supporters or players but the matches enjoyed bumper television viewing figures.
For me, the best news in the build up to the Six Nations is the scrapping of this experiment. Friday nights are not suited for rugby the travelling and extra timeoff for away fans was bad enough when they were in France. But as a Cardiffian the traffic chaos trying to get from work to town for the rugby is a nightmare.
Did anybody like the Friday night games; or like me are you glad to see the back of them?

That's the other major problem Hodge. I finish work at half three on Friday, it will probably be five by the time I've got home and into town. On a normal six nations day I should be at least four hours into the beer by then!

Yes, absolutely. Rugby is a game for 2.30 or 3.00 on a Saturday and 7.30 on a Wednesday.

Exactly. Bring North West Europe to a standstill for two hours every other week for two months. It's what it's all about.
