Re: ATP Picking Game
Thanks so much for doing this for us sportslover
I was going to have a go.....I've signed up but can't find our group, there looks like there are hundreds of them when I scroll through the list.
I've tried putting the name in the 'search' box but, each time, my computer freezes, it's definitely not the ATP site's fault it's my end........I've got the computer from hell!
To be honest I think I might find it a bit complicated.......I've never entered anything like this before.......and I don't understand the intricacies of tennis lol.
Good luck to everyone else.......please get your entries in if you haven't already done so : )

Try again, Solerina. I found our group very easily. And there's nothing to this cos essentially its just a guessing game.
Plus ... we need someone to get the wooden spoon.
Come on!! Have a go!!

Psst....Woofie.
I've found our group! : )
So what now, once I've clicked on join this group....will it become clear what I have to do? Coz I'll have a major panic if I have to work out points......I seriously do not understand about points and draws and stuff......this is so embarrassing lol.

Re: ATP Picking Game
Right ... once you've joined our group, all you need to do is is look to the right where it says, The Challenges, Indian Wells is the top tournie and click on the thing that says, "Make Picks".
It then takes you to the draw, and you just have to keep clicking on the player's name who you think will win the match. It then gets stored and all the points are updated automatically. How we are all doing will be shown in our Group table. It will all become simple once you start.
Good luck!!

Still not joined yet! - can you get some of your fellow MODS etc. to join also and help swell up the numbers?
I think the closing time is early tomorrow PM.

I've done my picks and joined Wooffie made me as she said someone has to be at the bottom of the group
I've got a feeling I'm going to be really good at this though (Wooffs, you're going to bookmark this now and laugh at me when I do indeed come in at the bottom aren't you?!).

Hi sportslover........I've asked the mods if they'll do this about half hour ago.......it's probably too late now.
I'm so cross with myself as this morning when I quickly logged in I didn't have time to read all the tennis forum so I've not long seen this.
Anyway I've just managed to get my entry in............frantically clicking on the names I'd heard of lol, until the later rounds where I could make an educated guess.
At least I hope I've got my entry in, because after I'd done it.......I clicked on 'OK' but I think I might have deleted all my picks.......it's too late now if I have.
At the top of the table Indian Wells is hi-lighted in gray........so I think my entry might still stands.
If you miss Indian Wells can you still make picks for the other tournaments? I'll definitely get the other mods/admin to join in for the rest of the season.
This has all been very traumatic.

Re: ATP Picking Game
I've just had another look and I clicked on 'make your picks' and all my picks are there, the table is filled in.
You think they'd tell you that you'd done it..........so I assume the hi-lighted gray strip across Indian Wells means I'm entered.
This just confirms what I keep saying............everything about tennis is complicated!

Re: ATP Picking Game
Hi Solerina, not sure to be honest as it's the first time I've played as well. Sure Wooffs or Rafan can tell us when they pop by. They are our Picks Queens

Re: ATP Picking Game
And I thought I was thick ...
Don't despair ... its 'game on' for each up-coming tournie, so if you've missed out this time, you can play when it comes to Miami.
Its just that the points you win per tournament are added cumulatively, so not only will you see in our little group table who's doing the best per tournament, you'll see who's doing the best overall. Miss a tournie, and it impacts on your overall score.
But as I said ... I'm not competitive. <cough>

Re: ATP Picking Game
Checked out SirFred's 606v2 - Newbies
Predicted Winner:
Four for Rafa
Three for Andy M
Two for Novak
Nothing for Roger so could it be him to win or another surprise like Ljubicic last year

I got all excited when I saw I was in the top half until I realised there are a few of us with the same points but listed in alphabetical order
And there I was thinking I was beating Wooffie and Rafan

10 players........that's really good, sportslover : )
I'll badger the other Mods and Admin to join in for Miami........15 minutes was too short notice for them for IW lol.

I have no idea why I am not bottom of this as practically everyone I picked has gone out already! Please don't let me have jinxed Rafa by picking him to win this!

Re: ATP Picking Game
I have been totally rubbish at this with the top half of my picks almost being totally obliterated.
And guess what? I've only just realised that I actually picked Murry to get to the final. I thought I had him out round the quarter-final mark.

Stunning first time performance from Cats and a massive leap up the table from tennisluvver.
