David Ferrer - You Owe LK An Apology!!!
If any of our fellow posters decide to go to the Semi's on Saturday, I would like for you to help me.
LK with his hat of wisdom put £20 on 40-1 last Thursday that Djokovic and Berdych come through Group A and that Federer and Tsonga would come through Group B. So I emplore all my fellow posters to boo the hell out of him. In a way I could blame Djokovic and Murray, but Ferrer for the shear cheek of winning and qualifying has ruined my bet!!!! What was he thinking??? LK would've been dancing under christmas trees and may have even treated himself and Mrs LK to a weekend away before the season of jolly. But no, Ferrer had to ruin it. If LK had not been ill this week, I would've queued for an autograph from Dave on Saturday. I even would've asked for his picture with me, with me strangling the bloke!!!
So help old LK out and give Ferrer the thumb down and some booing!!

Poor LK! I'm sure Ferrer would have withdrawn from the tournament just to avoid winning matches had he known

Well, if I am honest carrie my belief in him winning a Slam is not as solid as it once was. Aside from the end to the year he has had, the strides others have made like Federer and Tsonga, they have a different mentality to Murray. I think Nadal will struggle in 2012 and if it became a straight fight between Nadal and Murray for a place in the top 4, I wouldn't bet against Nadal. Tsonga seems to be the only 'legit' challenger to the top 4. Others like Ferrer, Berdych, Fish, Tipsarevic and Almagro will only scratch around the top 20 next year.

Here's the "value" version:
Cook the dinner yourself, dance her around the kitchen in a sliding/gliding fashion (that should do for the ice-skating bit). and then you can watch the X-factor

Re: David Ferrer - You Owe LK An Apology!!!
You're bringing me down now LK . I still have a good feeling about Murray in 2012.
Not really buying the Tsonga thing yet. 26 years old on the tour since '04 with 7 titles (inc. 1 Masters) and 4 finals (inc. 1 GS and 1 Masters). This compared with 21 titles (inc. 8 Masters) and 9 finals (inc. 3 GS and a Masters).
The point I am making is that Tsonga has made a big push before but has previously been unable to maintain the momentum. Murray has clearly failed to take the final step but has managed to maintain the level of winning 1000s and going deep at slams pretty consistently. I'm just not sure if Tsonga can keep it up in the long term but I may be proven wrong. I know who I would bet on to be in the top four this time next year - sorry couldn't resist

Poor Tsonga has had back surgery in what 2005? and knee surgery in 2008, so that has rather impeded the trajectory of his career.
If he could stay healthy, who knows? Have to agree with legend, I have lost a lot of confidence in Murray's ability to win a slam, or even to pose a realistic threat, and yet he has not had any serious injury issues for a good few years - the odd niggle or two, but nothing chronic or career threatening.
But back to OP - how very inconsiderate of Daveeed legend I shall remember to hiss and boo as well as cheer him on tomorrow!!

Re: David Ferrer - You Owe LK An Apology!!!
It was a decent bet with good odds considering the specialised nature of the court and uncertainties in the fitness of players. So you could have won £ 800 for a £ 20 bet. I suppose you could have spread the risk by having two £10 bets or four £5 bets.

Murray won't win a slam. oodles of talent, has even got the mental thing, but he's playing in a time when Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are a little bit better than him. the difference between Murray and the three of them isnt that huge, but its enough to render him slamless.
i remember Henman was once distracted by someone carrying 6 beers or something like that. this is a guy on court and yet could spot the 6 beers and was wondering if they would spill, all in the midst of a match.
Murray's performances sometimes remind me of that incident. when things are not going for Murray, anything can distract him, absolutely anything.
