Can we cancel the Wales v Australia match?
It's going to be like last November but 10 times worse.
Oz to win by at least 30.

Dont be too downhearted. The BaaBaas were awful today. No doubt Shaun Edwards will have our defence in shape - and if we miss as many tackles as the Baabaas did today then we can forget the 6Ns.

Italy would have looked good against the Barbarians today
Very few players put in any effort Matfield being the exception.

Australia were decent but the number of Barbarians who fell off tackles was shocking! Non-existent at the breakdown. It's not surprising that some of these players (especially the Kiwis) are going to be off-colour but they were awful.
Still, a good warm-up performance by Aus. They'll be confident ahead of the Wales game.

Good thing not everybody has your attitude to playing a side on form.
Glad to see Aus bringing a strong side, this can only add value to a craftily placed international. The Baa-baas don't have the advantage of playing together regularly so I'm hardly surprised when they get the odd tonking.
It was close in October and imo could go either way this time. If we play like we did throughout the WC then we're in with a decent shout. Plus we'll have Warbs back to lead us and Priestland to orchestrate better than Hook ever could.

It wasn't close last October. The Autumn series was awful as it has been every year since living memory.
Hopefully we will see a new Wales.

Very Impressed with O'Conner and Genia as halfbacks, looked very exciting. Good pack and incredibly talented backs. Wales will have to play well to beat them.

O'Conner looks better than Cooper - far more consistent performer aswell. I dont think Quade will be in the starting team anymore, off to buck up his ideas, like Giteau.

Australia isnt a bad side, there must be some reason why they are consistently in the top three of the IRB rankings.

Wales will realy need to be on top of their game next week, the way Australia played today it will be a big Hammering if they are not on topo of their game.
They realy put the baa baas to the sword today.
Best of luck for next week though.

Uh, yeah it was, 18-21 remember? We're talking about the bronze final, there were no Autumn internationals this year.
Did you actually watch any of the RWC? I didn't see a fearful team coming fourth, I saw a team of strong contenders who were only just held up short by some of the best in the world, including Australia. We don't need a "new Wales", we need the same, only slightly better.

Re: Can we cancel the Wales v Australia match?
please, cancel this bloodi match. the regions need their players for greater things than this meaningless match.
if wru wants to give shane a send off then why not do it during the 6n, he still has enough to make the wales squad.

When oz get their attacking lines going theres none better.
They get more sniff out of an oily rag than anyone.
Wales must be up in their faces or theyll be in big trouble.
A mixed team like the baabaas was cannon fodder for a hungry organised outfit like oz.
The wales oz clashes represent the NH SH youth battle until NZ SA and Ireland and perhaps england replace some senior players next year.

Was this game organise before the rugby world cup, or during.
I know Gatland did say that to beat a SH team, you need to play them on a regular basis. but so early after the Rugby World Cup and with the regions needing their players for the up and coming NH tournaments.
And another thought, with the 6ns being just around the corner what would Wales be if they picked up a lot of injuries.
What is more important to Gatland/ Wales beeting a SH team or winning the 6ns, because surely this(NH competition) is more important than the WRU getting a few more quid for this extra game.

THe other side of the coin being if Wales get a fantastic win over the Aussies and no injuries it will put Wales in great stead going into the Six Nations 2012

Stating the obvious, this the World Number 2 side,3 Ns champions, having beaten both the All Blacks and Boks recently.
Playing a scratch side, this squad has been together since mid year and the combinations are there.
NO scratch side should get anywhere near them,Wales if they Believe they can win.Take them on up front and play as they did against the Boks they have every chance of winning.
Test matches are a lot different to Festival style Baa-Baas Rugby or should be.

Re: Can we cancel the Wales v Australia match?
I thought the game was too much of a mismatch to give any real idea of how the Wallabies are likely to go next week. We will always be tough if not physically challenged as it suits the type of game our players like to play. Without a physical battle around the breakdown, our forwards were able to spend most of their energy running and playing with the ball, and most of them are reasonably skillful like that.
The Welsh forwards will make them work and of our likely pack, we've learnt we can only really rely on Moore, Horwill and Pocock to give as good as they take in a physical battle with the others sometimes turning up, and sometimes not. While we remain like this, we will always be equal chance of losing as winning well. It's quite frustrating.
