Very very sad news..

Agreed, very sad news.

It would appear that he hanged himself, and may be anothe case of a sportsman with depression.

Very sad news indeed especially for his family.

Sad news, it's gutting and to read he has a wife and 2 kids who he's left behind is tragic.

Tragic news. Hard to believe as he was on football focus yesterday. He was a great pro and seemed like a nice guy too. He was doing a great job with Wales too and had so much to live for.

That news was a real shock.

Very sad. It sounds like even those who knew him well had absolutely no idea that he we going through anything to cause him to take this action.

Great footballer, dedicated professional and seemed to have the credentials to be a good manager too.

Was shocking to hear the news this morning, couldn't believe it.

The minute silence at the Liberty stadium today which turned into applause was a nice touch, but still feel the game should have been called off, it is somewhat unfair to ask the Welsh lads and players like Shay Given who have played with Speed to continue playing after the news of his sudden tragic death.

RIP Gary Speed, the world shouldnt have lost a great man.
