Rugby League Hypocrites?
Calling Tomkins a turncoat because he played one game of Union? Bit harsh. Rugby League wasn't complaining when they had the likes of Gibbs, Young, Quinnell, Batemen, Tait, Offiah, Jiffy etc.
I'm not suggesting this is any fans but the media perhaps...

I think a lot of fans are still a bit raw at his brother Joel going to Union and all the talk about Sam following , then he signs a new contract to stay in league then straight away plays a high profile game of Union .
I do think however it is out of order as it does seem it was a one off ( future games may come about ) , but he has stated his desire to stay in league for the next few years .

Sam Tomkins gave union a try, and quite frankly looked bored by the whole thing. I'm not saying he won't switch to union but it will take a mega bucks offer for him to switch to play a boring one dimensional game that union is.

Any need for the dig at union?
Anyway, Tomkins certainly isn't the most popular player in League so was always going to have his fair share of detractors.

What is really wrong with a guy going off to play a game of union?

I guess this kind of proves the point of the title.
