Khan vs McCloskey
Apologies if this has been posted already - Derry man Paul McCloskey faces Amir Khan on 16th April.
As a Derry man myself i would love to see McCloskey pull off the upset - but i just can't see it - i think that Khan will just be too quick and too powerful for him.
What are you predicitions for this fight?

Crolla vs Rees for the undercard is quite interesting.

Londonderry isn't it?
Anyway, as you say, Khan will have too much speed, power and know-how. Khan by KO in the mid-to-late rounds.

Heading over to see it and cant wait.
I'll be screamin for McCloskey to win but can only see a Khan decision myself.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
I think this has got a late stoppage for Khan written all over it, personally.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
I don't see McCloskey troubling Khan at all, think it could turn out pretty one sided, hope i'm wrong though.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Hard to go against the consensus and see anything other than a Khan wim As an aside does anyone know how the undercard is shaping up because this has the look of a tough sell on PPV without a stacked undercard or an overseas fight on the back of it.

Cheers Union, not too much there that would appear to justify the £15 to be honest mate

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Khan to give mcClosky a real beating. He is too quick, too good at throwing combinations and it's a real step up for Paul. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few knockdowns, for both men. McClosky may not be a concussive puncher but os quite good at flash knockdowns and looking at khans open defence he could go down. Wide UD or late stoppage.
As Scott said, rees vs crolla should be a real good fight. I expect crolla to come out victorious. The british scene in the lower weights is looking very good, especially super feather, lightweight and light welter.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Think this is going to be an easy nights work for Khan. Can see an early stoppage round 4 or 5. Don't think his next fight will be with Bradley though can see him taking on Judah first that's a fight that would do good box office numbers over here and in the states and would help build up the Bradley fight who I can see taking on Maidana when he sees off Morales or maybe even Lamont Peterson, this is a risk but would see them maximise profits at the box office and that's the most important thing to the fighters, the promoter and the TV broadcasters.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Here we go Rowley.
Matthew Macklin v Khoren Gevor
Anthony Crolla v Gavin Rees
Martin Murray v John Anderson Carvalho
Amir Khan v Paul McCloskey
Scott Quigg v Andrei Isaeu
Craig Watson v Lee Purdy
Graeme Higginson v Andy Murray
Although i feel there's a few good matchups there, considering i don't feel Khan-McCloskey is PPV worthy, the undercard has done little to change that.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Khan is a box office fighter now so I don't think there is a choice whether it is on PPV anymore.
All his fights are going to be PPV no matter how bad the opponent is.

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Fear your right Reborn, personally think the fight should dictate whether a fight is PPV rather than the fighter but fear that the likes of Khan and Haye are PPV now and who is in the other corner is irrelevant

Re: Khan vs McCloskey
Apparently Sky chiefs told Adam Booth if it was not a Klitchko it was not box office due to the backlash from the Fraudley fight.

Khans defence is pretty good these days, not great, but good. Would not describe it as open. Only way he goes down is if he comes too much forward looking for knockdown and gets caught off balance.
