Re: PRESS RELEASES
BATH announce their coaching line up for the new season, with a combination of local favourites, who will instil the passion, determination and success from the glory days, as well as some specialist expertise recruited from around the world. We hope to use Clive Woodward's mantra of doing 100 things 1% better and think that using the skills and experience of Margot, Tana Dave, Jason, Phil and Trevor could make the difference at critical points of the season.
We have looked to link up and reunite some old partnerships, with Steve Meehan and Brian Ashton linking up again with Brad Davis, which along with the input of Mike Catt gives a quartet of experienced Bath men. Trevor and Phil come with a wealth of scrummaging experience at the top level and will look to start their work quickly addressing the front row.
Clive has asked to bring some of his most trusted coaches to the club and we are truly grateful that he has done so. Steve Black and Dave Aldred have found memories of the success they acheived working with Clive and look forward to continuing in the same vein.
Danny will continue his role of mentor to the academy, ensuring the young talent we produce develop as human beings and become great ambassadors for the club going forward. We hope to get Jason involved with the backs in the academy and think that these two will provide brilliant role models for our young talents to aspire to.

EXETER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE COACHING SET UP
Exeter Chiefs announce today that former England international prop (we can all dream) Ozzy3213 will take over as head coach. Rob Baxter has asked to step down from the head role at the club, but will remain as one of two forwards coaches.
Ozzy3213 brings with him a trio of coaches who have helped Leinster to their recent successes, Greg Feek, Jono Gibbes and Richie Murphy.

The club hope to announce further additions to the coaching staff in the next few days.

This is basically shotgun your favourite coach!
I (Pullthestrings) can confirm Mike (Catt) has not signed anything with Bath. As far as we are aware, Mike has long term plans with us will be staying at London Irish for the forthcoming season and beyond.

Re: PRESS RELEASES
EXETER CHIEFS CONFIRM ARRIVAL OF TWO ENGLAND INTERNATIONALS
Exeter Chiefs this morning have annouced the arrival of new signings Perry Freshwater and Steffon Armitage at Sandy Park. Thirty eight year old prop Freshwater joins on a short term deal to the end of the season, with the option of a further year, and 5 times capped flanker Armitage returns from a brief spell with Toulon and signs a contact tying him to the club until the end of the 2014/15 season.
New Chiefs head coach Ozzy3213 had this to say about the new signings.
"I am delighted to welcome Perry and Steffon to Exeter Chiefs. We are looking to really move forward as a club, and players of the quality that these two bring will assist us in doing that. Both bring valuable international and Heineken Cup experience with them, and that will be very important to us as we look to really compete with the big guns in the Aviva Premiership.
I am also pleased that we have recruited well on the coaching side, and Greg (Feek), Jono (Gibbes) and Richie (Murphy) bring proven track records of success from their time at Leinster. We have a really solid pack here, and a great set piece, but you only have to look at how Greg (Feek) tweaked the Leinster scrum at half time in the Heineken Cup final to see that he will improve us even further in that area.
We will be looking at adding to the coaching staff and the playing squad in the coming weeks, with a number of players at both home and abroad in our sights to bring to the South West."

Re: PRESS RELEASES
EXETER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE FURTHER NEW ARRIVALS
Exeter Chiefs head coach Ozzy3213 today announced the arrival of a 3rd new signing for his squad in the shape of former England international winger Paul Sackey. Sackey returns to England after a spell in France, and on twitter stated that he was keen to force his way back into the England fold.
Ozzy3213 had this to say;
"Paul is a fantastic player who brings with him a vast amount of experience. In the history of the Premiership only Steve Hanley and Mark Cueto have scored more tries than Paul, and it is great to have a proven finisher of his quality at the club. Due to salary cap restrictions we have had to let flanker Ben White and scrum half Pat Phibbs go, and they both return to Australia and we wish them well for the rest of their careers.
I can also announce a new addition to the coaching staff in the shape of former South Africa flanker Rassie Erasmus who will be responsible for defence coaching. We are really looking to try to improve the club in every aspect, and we now have a World Class coaching team in place, which can only be of benefit going forwards."

QUINS CLAIM STRONG WIN AGAINST TOULON
Harlequins 18 Toulon 6
Quins welcomed back there big guns for the game against Toulon played at London Scottish RFC as part of there play in the community set up.
Quins started the game brightly wth a high hanging restart from Nick Evans causing chaos in the Toulon pack with Carl Hayman knocking on just inside his own 22. A series a scrums followed with Quins captain Chris Robshaw backing his 7 mates in the pack to cause Toulon problems in this area. However this proved to be a plan with a nil result as James Johnstone give away a penalty for an early engage against Efion Lewis-Roberts , allowing Matt Giteau to clear his lines.
Joe Van Nikirk claimed the ball in at the tail of the lineout allowing for quick ball to see France international Alexis Pallison to slip up the middle only to be torn down by the covering Tom Williams testing the Quins line speed to get back and reset. Toulon stand off Matt Giteau sensed the chance for an early 3 points with a neatly struck drop goal just outside the Quins 22 to get the ball rowling.
Quins responded well with another high hanging restart causing more chaos in the Toulon defense with Matt Henjak claiming the restart only to spill the ball in contact from a Chris Robshaw tackle. The following scrum saw Juan Lobbe pinged for breaking his bind with the scrum wheeling following some immense pressure from Joe Marler on Carl Hayman. Nick Evans lined up the 3 and took them to draw the score level. The game was a scrappy afair with referee Peter Fitzgibbon struggling to allow any clean ball to be used at the breakdown with both teams guilty of bluffing there way through the breakdown. Matt Giteau and Nick Evans traded penalties just before half time seeing both teams enter the break honours even and struggling to get into the game.
After the break Quins managed to get a strangle hold on the game and camped them selves in the Toulon half making there way up field through a series of short drives before Jordan Turner-Hall and George Lowe making head way up the middle allowing for a overlap to appear in the Toulon 22 with some sharp hands from Nick Evans , Mike Brown and Tom Williams to feed Ugo Monye in the corner to push Quins 11-6 ahead.
Toulon made plenty of changes on the hour mark with Carl Hayman , Efion Lewis Roberts , Joco Suta and Matt Giteau replaced. The game slowing turned into a war of attrition with the boots of Mike Brown and Nick Evans asking questions of Andre Pretorious and David Smith. 31 capped South African Andre Pretorious eventually produced a hiccup when one of his kicks was collected by Ollie Smith who went against the trend and ran the ball back up the wing and unleased Tom Williams to score under the posts with 3 minutes remaining with Nick Evans adding the 2.
Quins Team
1.Joe Marler (Lambert 70) 2.Joe Grey (Brooker 40) 3.Cencus Johnstone 4.Ollie Kohn (Robson 60) 5.Tomas Vallejos 6.Maurie Fa'asavalu (Skinner 45) 7.Chris Robshaw(c) 8.Nick Easter 9.Danny Care 10.Nick Evans 11.Ugo Monye 12.Jordan Turner Hall 13.George Lowe (O Smith 56) 14.Tom Williams 15.Mike Brown

WASPS STRENGTHEN WITH TIGERS RAID
New London Wasps boss stnick has wasted no time in changing his squad with four new faces in, all from Leicester Tigers. George Chuter, Julien Salvi, Alesana Tuilagi and Steve Mafi join the club with Christian Wade, Rob Webber, Joe Launchbury and Sam Jones going in the opposite direction.
'Whilst it is a shame to let quality youth go, when the chance to sign players of Alesana and Juliens quality arrives it is hard to turn it down. We have some good talent here at Wasps and I feel the four Tigers we have signed will help to improve us. I am still looking for many new faces, mainly in the forwards, as we want to be challenging for a play off spot.'

Quins delighted with new signings
Harlequins today announced the signing of Samoan international Taiasina Tuifua and South African Greg Goosen.
Quins DOR of rugby Driver had this to say 'Both are fantastic additions to the side , Tuifua has been on a lot of clubs radars of late after his performances in the RWC and winning man of the match in Samoa's victory over Australia , Greg Goosen is a pretty exciting player at full back , he's very similer to Browny so it shouldn't have any affect on our patterns of play and game plan. How ever with these we have had to allow Stegman and Guest move to Newcastle. Both were pushing first team but wern't going to get as much game time as they wanted down here which they will hopefully get up at Kingston''

PULLTHESTRINGS SIGNS DOUBLE ACT
London Irish manager is delighted to bring Joe Simpson and Steve Mafi to the Madjeski.
Joe is exactly what we're looking for - young, energetic and enthusiastic. He brings a real spark at 9 and will and tempo to our play. Steve has a wealth of experience and joins some great talents in the engine room.
Making way are two English youngsters Matthew Garvey and Jonathan Joseph.
Matthew has been playing really well for us lately and it's hard to have to let him go. Jonathan [Joseph] is a player I admire and has a bright future in the game. We wish the best to both of them, and thank them for their services to the Exiles.

QUINS ANNOUNCE TEAM FOR NEXT FIXTURE
Quins make 6 changes to the starting team with Chris Brooker , Ollie Kohn , Matt Kvesic , Will Skinner , Tom Casson and Greg Goosen coming into the side for Joe Grey , George Skivington , Neil Best , Chris Robshaw , George Lowe and Mike Brown. Matt Cairns comes onto the bench with Robshaw and Lowe. New signing Adam Ashley-Cooper comes onto the wing for Tom Williams
'We've made a lot of changes this week as we want to look at as many players as possible. Chris comes in at 2 and he has so much potential in that role , Ollie will pack down behind to give our front 5 a hard grizzled edge with Kvesic coming at 6 as he needs a shot along with will. Tom and Goose are both exciting runners and will create the opposition plenty of problems'
Harlequins
Manager – Driver
16.Matt Cairns 17.Tim Fairbrother 18.Mark Lambert 19.Charlie Matthews 20.Chris Robshaw 21.Karl Dickson 22.Rory Clegg 23.George Lowe
Tactics
- In what is predicted to be a sunny day in Watford Quins have picked a team designed to play at a high tempo and move the ball.
- Evans will look to spread the ball along the line and give Casson , AAC , Benjiman and Goosen time on the ball.
- Plenty of Carrys in the tight from Marler , Brooker , Johnstone , Kohn , Kvesic and Easter to generate quick ball for Danny Care to test Sarries with making snipes , kicks and hitting Evans out wide.
- Plenty of offloads in the opposition half we want to play fast and furious and put them on the back foot.
- Goosen to move the ball on kicks and look to attack holes in the Sarries chase.
- Skinner to target the break down and look to disrupt Saracens ball.

Re: PRESS RELEASES
BATH are Frank(s) with their first foreign signing
Bath announce the signing of World Cup winning All Black tighthead Owen Franks. Franks, regarded by many as already the premier player in his position at the tender age of 23 slots straight into the 23 for this weeks midweek friendly.
Bath Director of Rugby Bathite: 'We realised that we lacked a bit of power in the front row and immediately identified Owen as our #1 target.
'Great teams are built upon great front rows and the tighthead is the cornerstone of the pack. I hope that Owen's experience at the highest level of the game will be shared with our crop of young props. We have high hopes for Kane [Palmer-Newport], Catty [Nathan Catt] and Charlie [Beech], so our propping department looks very strong for years to come, along with seasoned campaigners Flats and Anthony.
'Owen offers the ability to play both sides of the scrum, has a great long future ahead of him and is an immense defender and ball carrying option.'
'He will be a great addition to the Bath side and along with the addition of Simon Shaw, we now have real abrasiveness and power in our front five to compliment the athleticism and mobility that Lewis [Moody], Carl [Fearns] and Frans [Louw] bring.'
Rumour has it that Bath are also looking at bringing another young World Cup winning talent to the Recreation Ground, with Frans Steyn being mooted as the next singing.

EXETER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE FURTHER INTERNATIONALS ARRIVING AT SANDY PARK
Exeter Chiefs head coach Ozzy3213 today announced the signings of international stars Bismarck du Plessis (South Africa), James Horwill (Australia) and Ofisa Treviranus (Samoa). All three reperesented their countries at the recent World Cup in New Zealand and bring with them a huge amount of experience at the very top level of the game. Ozzy3213 had this to say;-
"I am delighted to have been able to have signed three players of such ability to add to our already competitive and combative pack. All three are very dynamic, physical players who have a real presence on and off the field and will fit in perfectly with how we want to play the game here. As always we have had to release a few players in order to come under the salary cap but we are focused on improving quality within the squad rather than quantity, and these three players will be a huge part of that.
There is a real buzz around the training ground with their arrival at the club and we look forward to seeing them in action as part of the team to face Bath this weekend."

COOPSY DOES IT
Harlequins today welcomed 57 times capped Australia back Adam Ashley Cooper to the club , Quins have rumored to have been looking for some experience in the back line with club linked with Jean De Villers , Conrad Smith , Sivivatu but the signing of Adam Ashley Cooper has really got the fans talking
Quins coaches Wayne Smith and Nick Mallet met with Ashley Cooper and his agent in Paris a few weeks ago where Cooper was on vacation after the RWC to discuss a potential move to Quins. Ashley Cooper had this to say 'I'd had plenty of offers from Australia , Japan and France but soon as Nick (Mallet) called me there was only one club i wanted to sign on the dotted line for , i had a few training sessions last week and watched the Worcester game from the sideline and was really impressed from what i saw'.
'I'm currently sharing a flat with Danny Care who after a few cans just wants to play Gran Trismo on the PS3 , it's an experience i really am enjoying'

Bathite eager to get Bath back to winning ways and into the top 4
As 6th favourites for the league, Bath look like a good outside bet for the Top 4 in the debut season for manager Bathite. Bathite brings experience of the ERL game, in which he received manager of the month 6 times and led his Saracens team to a play off semi final and knock out cup win. Now at the helm of his local club and back in familiar surroundings he seems well poised.
Bath fan gets his dream job
'I was delighted to take the job when Nick called me, we have met a few times and shared a good chat in the barbers last week.'
'I was hugely impressed with his vision and look forward to making a '
contribution to it. Farleigh House is an incredible training facility and following an intense pre season, I can't wait for the league to start'
Beefing up the pack; One Frans is good, two is great!
Bath have added experienced and World Cup Winning internationals Simon Shaw and Owen Franks to the forward pack, which adds some brutality and physicality to the set piece and open play. The addition of Francois Steyn is a thoroughly exciting one. He adds depth at 12,13,10 and 15, along with his trademark goal kicking and drop goal options. A formidable defender as well, he allows us to play the game in a few different ways and is of course already familiar with Northern Hemisphere rugby after his stint with Racing Metro.
Offloading Geech; Clinical attacking
Fans should expect Bath to return to the free flowing offloading game that Steven Meehan pioneered. Steve returns to the club and will allow the team to return to the style of play that saw them be the most exciting team to watch in the league 2 seasons ago. However, the additions of the aforementioned Shaw and Franks points to a desire to 'own the set piece' again, whilst the addition of the reliable boot of Steyn should prevent the side from losing close games.[i]

TIGERS TO MAKE BIG NAME SIGNING?
Rumours are rife in the Leicester Mercury that Leicester Tigers are close to finalising a deal for a big name signing before next weeks premiership game.
After already concluding the deals of James O'Connor and Sam Warburton it is understood Pooly is either in the market for a backrow player or playmaking back to complete his squad for the season.
We understand parties have been sent out from Leicester to Austrailia, New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland with potential targets rumoured to be Berrick Barnes, Digby Ioane, Israel Dagg, Jerome Kaino, Schalk Burger and Stephen Ferris.
Pooly:
"We were delighted to bring in James & Sam on long term contracts and I think they fit in well with our youthful looking squad.
James (O'Connor) was a toughie as they were numerous other clubs in for him but I think he was impressed with the Leicester ethos and the potential to play 10/12. He's an extremly talented boy with ball in hand and I can see him and Manu Tuilagi linking up well.
We were really excited to tie down Sam, he had a massive offer from the Blues but liked what we were doing at Tigers and thought he could develop into one of the worlds best flankers with the aid of our coaching set up.
We've been quite active in the market with Luke Wallace, Christian Wade, Rob Webber, Joe Launchbury, Sam Jones and Elliot Daley all coming in. We see some massive potential in these guys but they'll need to earn their stripes before they get in the first team.
We've been holding talks with a young back 3 player from another AP club but things are at an early stage so I don't want to say too much.
We may be looking to bring in another player before the market shuts but things are at an early stage and the deal needs to be right for the club. We're currently a bit under the cap so theres a bit of move there if needs be."
