It's like a slow warm up, wooden spoon decider, followed by 2nd division, followed finally by the main event!

Re: March 17th 2012
Some very nice match ups there for sure. Here´s hoping at least one of those lives up to its billing and sees both sides playing some good footy. I want to see a real battle between the two sides instead of one side snuffing out the other side due to them stifling the other team´s natural game. e.g. Ireland vs England All very well for the victors but from a neutral´s perspective, it doesn´t stand out as a game worth recalling.

It wouldn't be unfair of me to say I may not survive that particular Paddy's day!

Nothing wrong with your post mate. You've done well. I´ve already cleared the week after the 17th in my diary in order to remain bed or couch-ridden for the following week!
Just felt like a little doodle in response to the face palm comment.

You can't have your cake and eat it too I'm afraid. All the more reason to get hammered. Just don't drink and drive. Will Danny be now called Careless?

If I have a cake, I see no reason why I can not eat it.

Re: March 17th 2012
Lol yes there are many odd expressions.
He wouldn´t say boo to a goose. Who would?! (Cue person walking up to a goose) BOO!! That scared the fu**er. See if you hiss at me now you little...
You couldn´t swing a cat in here. That doesn´t seem to be very nice to cats. Imagine looking at a new house. Come here cat. Just want to see how big this kitchen really is. REEEAA. No, seems a little pokey to me.
More of them that you could shake a stick at. What has shaking a stick got to do with quantity.
Every foreign student learns the expression it´s raining cats and dogs and they all laugh at how quaint and absurd English is. But have you ever heard a native speaker mention this expression?
