Matt Scott commits to Edinburgh till 2014
Well it seems one of Scotland's prospects for the future has signed on untill 2014. Great news for the youngster who has played a central role in some of Edinburghs most important games recently.
Furthermore it seems any student wanting to go to Edinburgh V London Irish will only have to pay a fiver!

That's great news - really pleased for the lad - soon he'll be a qualified lawyer too, so won't have to pay an agent to check his contract!

Would like to see Rennie, Grant and Gilchrist also put pen to paper for longer deals

+1
I would not be utterly surprised to see either Grant or Rennie go walk about for a season or 2 though. With a lot of talented guys in the backrow they would not be missed too badly if one were to go.

I think we'll be lucky if both Rennie and Barclay are in Scotland next year. There are a fair number of very good English and French sides without a top quality specialist openside so I expect there will be a few suitors.
Great news on Matt Scott. He carries plenty expectations on his shoulders, but he looks quick, strong and skillful and a great fit at 12.

Hearing strange rumours about NdL and Cairns heading south to the AP, with Parks off to Connacht

Back to reality, great news about Scott. I see hes gone from being listed to a halfback on the embra site, to a centre. Leonard conversly has gone from centre to halfback. Neither player seems to have any complaints mind, so its all good.

He's out of contract at Cardiff, there's no room for him in Scotland, he might actually do a decent job in Connacht, securing them territory in league games - can almost see it working! Have to say I'd be surprised at the IRFU if that one come true tho
