We think we live.
Past is future
Future is present.

We are confused.
The truth is real
Reality isn't true.

Where are we going
Why are we going
Stop and hear the music.

There's a few pieces I like....I only wish I could find links to them all so you could hear them, but I'll list them anyway, maybe you can look for yourselves...some of the titles may be incomplete/incorrect though...

Kissing You - the instrumental version on the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack (no.2 I think). Much better than the original. It was used in a football advert on the BBC a while back hence I discovered it. Never seen the film!
Ave Maria - the version sung by Leslie Garrett is best.
Gymnopedie - Eric Satie
Paganini Rhapsody - Rachmaninov
Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven
The Heart Asks/The Promise - Michael Nyman (from The Piano soundtrack).
Minute Waltz - Chopin
Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence - Ryuchi Sakamoto - also made into a pop record, but there's a classic instrumental version which is lovely.
Spiegl Im Spiegl - not sure of the composer
Flower Duet (Lamke) - Delibes
Clair de Lune - Debussy
Violin Concerto in E Minor - Bruch
Elvira Madigan Piano Concerto - Mozart
Air on a G String - Bach
Adagio with Strings - Barber
Blow The Wind/Pie Jesu - Jocelyn Pook
The Lark Ascending - Vaughn Williams

I have a "list" of fixed pieces.

I suppose the one that is kind of part of me like flesh is
1)Sibelius's violin concerto.
then, there's
2)Schummann's piano concerto
3)Schummann's organ pieces (forgot how they're called exactly, there are 6 in the opus)
4)Bach's Tocata & Fuga
5) quite a few of Chopin's waltzes & nocturos
6) Borodin's Night on the Bare Mountain
plenty of Tchaikovsky's ballet pieces (Nutcracker, Swan Lake)and anything Mozart
Bach and Beethoven feature hugely, too many pieces to be listed.

I have listened to Dvorak a lot last year.

The funny thing with me is I am very fussy about performers.
Violin: it has to be Joshua Bell, although do love Menuhin, but he plays it with different passion.
Piano: Ashkenazy (Argerich for Schummann), Cello:Misha Maisky, although Elgar's concerto by Du Pres is unsurpassed....

I haven't heard this for a long time, but used to listen to it every day....interesting when you revisit a piece of music after many years...

I found this particular Swan performance an utter gem, and to think that I arrived in Dubrovnik only a day after this concert steam

Dvorak's ninth symphony and Beethoven's sixth are my favourites.
