Re: Swansea City 3-2 Arsenal
Arsenal are not very good defensively and I can't understand why most teams sit back against them?
Just look at Swansea today or Blackburn, Man United, West Brom etc who all had a go at the Gunners and got results.
There are goals to get against Arsenal and Arsene Wenger doesn't see to have a clue what to do when games go against Arsenal.

Yes Arsenal contributed to their own downfall yesterday, but take nothing away from Swansea. That was a very impressive performance and I would say they fully deserved their 3 points.
Good to see a promoted team having a go and trying to play their way...rather than trying to do enough to survive.

Never a pen. Dyer should be booked for his shameful cheating. Refs need to wise up to this type of play acting, ruining the game.

You should check the replay then Jro when they showed it at half time, Dyer kicked ramsey halfway down his shin and then went down

Re: Swansea City 3-2 Arsenal
Was it a pen at real time speed? Yes, without a doubt
Was it a pen slowed down in the replay? Probably not
However, given that the referee could only go on the first it had to be a penalty. Plus it gave Swansea belief which in turn gave us a cracking second half!

Wasnt a pen. Im not really bothered, I dont support Arsenal but it was shameful bit of play acting. no need for a grown man to fall over like that.

I actually think you are being pretty harsh on him saying he fell over and play acted.
His momentum was altered. He made the connection while he was in mid-spin. I think it was a genuine enough fall.
Having said that...it was never a penalty. Dyer connected with Ramsey; not the other way round. But to say he dived, seems a little bit harsh on the boy.

Wasn't a penalty, not in a million years. Can see why the ref gave it though, looked like a clear pen in real time. You can't say Dyer dived though. Yet another argument for video technology.

That was actually a free out. But nobody really care's when a big club get's a decision given against them, people only give out when the smaller club's get decison's given against them with the usual "the big club's get all the decision's"

it wasnt a pen however, its good to see one of the 'big teams' get beaten by one of the 'smaller ones'

Come on, does that really knock a grown man down. 90% of freekicks given these days the player could stay on his feet. They choose not to as it is easier to get the dead ball. Spoiling football.
Football is more of a 'mans' games at school boy level. Harder tackles, players wanting to prove they are the best player, not the best at winning freekicks.

It looked very much like a penalty in real time play. It wasn't until Sky started showing endless replays of it that it was questioned.johnson2 wrote:Never a pen. Dyer should be booked for his shameful cheating. Refs need to wise up to this type of play acting, ruining the game.

A grown man does not fall over from an ankle tap.

Yes they do and it's a tactic used often in rugby league and union.
