You should try a balti. It's sweet and sour, with peppers and onions but it's not hot.

I've had a few Phaal's but some have been really tasty, if ridiculously hot. Depends on the Indian restaurant.

I hated curry growing up cause my mum used to eat Rogan Josh and it looked like a bucket of puke on a plate, then went for a curry with some college mates and fell in love.

Maybe move up to a dry tikka?

Dex, first time i ever did it i couldn't feel my lips after about 5 minutes. Had a couple since and some are lovely, depends if you like hot food. My chilli is always fiery hot so i like it spicy.

Everywhere does curry different to be fair, probably a good idea to try a few more phaals. There's a curry called Tindaloo that's hotter than a Vindaloo apparently

Yeah, it goes Vindaloo - Tindaloo - Phaal although it's pretty much a heat thing, taste is the same.

They aren't original, Indian dishes, they were made specifically for English people in India and brought back here.

Most Indians eat curry without forks. They use a naan or chapati.

Going back to curries my next door neighbours are from Bangladesh and their curry is really different, they cook the chicken on the bone and there's minimal sauce. Blow your mouth off hot too.

Dicey, the thing I love when I go to Ireland is how thick the bread is, and the butter you buy in the shops is about double the size of English butter. Makes for great toast!
