Travis Perkins
Travis Perkins are set to announce another 4 years of sponsorship for Northampton Saints making their relationship the longest between a club and a main shirt sponsor in any elite sport in the UK.
Good times for Northampton Saints. Travis Perkins are doing well and keep expanding. The only two things Northampton has going for it...

Re: Travis Perkins
Travis Perkins became the Saints’ main sponsor in 2002. However the relationship between the club, Travis Perkins, its predecessor Travis and Arnold, and the Travis family as a whole stretches back over 90 years.
As club president in the early 1920s, and as a director of Franklin’s Gardens Sports and Pleasure Co Ltd, Ernest Travis was instrumental in establishing the legacy of the Saints’ home ground being the best rugby facility in the country. Then in the 1940s and onwards Travis and Arnold was one of the club’s main advertisers in its match programmes.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Shows exactly what being part of a community is all about. Two organisations, T&P and Saints, both part of the fabric of Northampton. The best example for other companies and clubs to follow.

Ha. the only thing its good for now is abseiling. Northampton town centre is virtually a ghost town apart from the lithuanians drinking cans of lager at 8 in the morning and the gangs of unemployed wending their way to the job centre. the new fountain thing is little more than a leaking drain and the market is a 3rd the size it was when I was young.
in short I'd rather be in Market Harborough. the rugby might not be quite the same level but it's far less depressing

I thought the Barwell family had some kind of interest in Travis Perkins?

Not sure about that. I've never heard their names mentioned in connection but I guess they might be share holders

why do you always have to make some dig at the welsh. it's exceptionally tedious and totally irrelevant.

Jeepers mckay it wasn't a dig at all!
It was, however, a pretty poor joke about two names that sound similar(ish). For that I can only apologise.
