Wrestlemania 28: WM 27 All Over Again?
Over the last couple of years we've all been crying out for Vince McMahon to create new stars, one of the reasons being that we saw a day coming where the WWE would be light on major headliners and have to draft in guys at short notice who maybe weren't quite ready or were untested at the main event level.
Earlier in the year I thought that Vince would have to take a hit on the Wrestlemania 27 buyrate; the matches that were being touted at the time (Miz/Cena, Edge/Del Rio, Undertaker/Barrett and HHH/Sheamus) didn't exactly scream "RECORD PPV BUYS!" However, I thought that this year would be a chance to showcase younger talents in hopes of building them up to be draws for next year's Wrestlemania.
Since then, Vince has pulled out as many stops as he can. He's brought back The Rock and entered him into a pseudo feud with John Cena, he's brought back Stone Cold Steve Austin, he's scrapped Taker/Barrett and HHH/Sheamus and replaced them with Taker v the Game-uhh, he's putting Michael Cole in a match (who wouldn't want to see him get his ass kicked?!) and in the most majorest of major coups, he's signed up the best female wrestler on the planet - Awesome Ko......sorry Snooki.
So Vince has done a hell of a lot to make Wrestlemania 27 more appealing, and word is he's expecting it to pull over a million buys. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.
But that brings us to next year's Wrestlemania. Will he do the right thing and build up stars over the next 12 months, so that if we were to get John Morrison or Dolph Ziggler or Daniel Bryan in a World title match we wouldn't be moaning that they weren't ready or hadn't been properly established ? Or will he simply try pulling out every ace up his sleeve again?
