I wanted Rhodes permanently! But having him on loan for the rest of the season without the recall stipulation was a good compromise.

squad almost done, one or two to bting in but will need a good offer from lawyers

Al Ahamada
Onouha-Dunk-Ogbo-Pieters
Matip-Maher
Walcott-Marchisio-O.Santos
Gomis

Ogbo = Ogbonna - Torino defender being touted for a big move

so decent back up, maybe a LW to get Oscar central and another CF

I could play two complete sides and they'll look ok!

Ospina
Duarte-Demichelis-Garay-Ziegler
Keita-Sissoko
Iturbe-Coutinho-Afellay
Derdiyok

Douchez
Crescenzi-Yobo-Sidnei-Lopez
Lansbury-Senna
Buonanotte-Kranjcar-Gervinho
Rhodes

I got Lewis Dunk relatively cheap so there are bargains out there, he is performing really well and is young..

He is good for back up/ 4th choice

Yobo and Sidnei are decent i was thinking more FB

Exactly! That's one of the things that's unfair with current set up. The English and more well known other clubs get the gossip columns, likes of Porto, Benfica etc only get rumours of players leaving their clubs.

Could be worse Hero, you could be linked with people but know realistically that the need to sign before theres a chance

I mean if Tevez, a man blatantly only interested in himself and cash wont join with the massive wages on offer wont join, that doesn't bode well

I think the likelihood of it actually happening is zero to none. Napoli, champions league game with Chelsea coming up, team doing really well...or Liverpool who have little to no chance of getting champions league football next year.

Lille striker Eden Hazard has admitted Carlo Ancelotti's presence at Paris Saint-Germain is drawing him towards joining the French club. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the 21-year-old.

Do you think if i write to PSG and ask them not to sign players in the league

In other unrelated news a 29 year old in Scotland has been found crying at his keyboard.

Real Madrid won the copa del rey last year hero. Before that the only trophy they won was the league in the 07-08 season. But you can't blame them tbh. They have been playing against the so called best team in history in Barcelona and BEAT them albeit in the cup final last year. Man Utds situation is different. They have been dominating the epl in the C Ronaldo era and now they are getting knocked out of competitions left right and centre. Crystal Palace knocked them out. Basle knocked them out. Liverpool knocked them out. And soon Ajax will knock them out. Football nowadays is not about who has the best starting 11. It matters about who has the best squad. And imho Real Madrid have the best squad in the world. You make a team out of madrids subs and players that don't start and they'd prob finish in the top half of the epl. Look at what Mourinho has brought to real madrid. He has bought players for now and the future. Ozil, Di Maria are already regulars and have not even reached their peak yet. Varane is only 18 and is improving and will soon become a regular. The only disappointment has been Sahin but he is a long term replacement for Xabi Alonso. Benzema is one of the most in form strikers in the world and if you watched the second leg of the copa del rey you will notice that Real Madrid are the only team capable of beating Barcelona.

Utd even at the peak of their dominance still had the occasional shocker, a loss to a lower league side or an early exit from the CL.
I'd agree though that Utd are very much in a transitional period and with the cash being splashed across the city it will be harder than ever to regroup and regain the top dog position in the league, the lack of funds to bring in big names and with every other club now following Utds lead of going for the next big thing rather the current big thing makes it difficult, but we've done it several times before and I'm sure we'll do it again.

I have Downing who I may let go if I get the right fee but he is a good squad player.
