Llendl Hides Behind Towel
I'd sort of forgotton about Ivan Llendl until I saw this
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP)—Andy Murray’s new coach Ivan Lendl was courtside to watch the Scot move effortlessly into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. He just wasn’t keen for anyone to know about it.
The eight-time Grand Slam winner threw a white towel over a nearby camera, which was installed to capture his reactions during the match on Rod Laver Arena.

When I heard about Lendl's return to the world of tennis I was excited. From what I knew about him he was quite a character and imagined appearances on "Game Set and Matts" and teasing interviews with McEnroe. The newspapers where full (for a while) of stories about his unusual humour and the odd storys about his past. I have to admit that so far it has all been a huge dissapointment. Should he be allowed to hide behind a towel. Where is the fun in that?

Agreed. Can anyone on here suggest some useful ideas to help him measure up?
I'll start:
* Red nose
* Bob Monkhouse bumper book of stand up jokes
* Unicycle

An interview with McEnroe would suffice. No fancy dress required.

Is that what Murray was looking for when he took him on?

The towel on the camera was a bit of a joke, he put a baseball cap on it too, and was laughing when another camera was on him.
Nothing story. It was just a silly bit of horseplay, he wasn't trying to hide his face as you seem to be implying.

I have to say Hawky, you must have a hard on for Lendl. This must be like the 10th article on the guy. I think I might tweet Andy to see if there is a Mrs Lendl.

Some wish for Greg Rusedski to hide behind a towel, but I think they are being a little harsh.

Hawkeye and Lendl seem to have a past issue.
Cant wait for Hawn to open up.

We have to admire Hawkeye's for actually managing to create unmpteen different but entertaining articles, when they are all written with the same motive
Whoever gets the Republican nomination, should use Hawkeye for their speeches
Otherwise the Presedential race will be as one sided as a Tenez debate on Roger

Re: Llendl Hides Behind Towel
banbrotam the highlight of the whole tournament was Greg giving his verdict on Baghdhatis and his serial racket smashing.
"Terrible behaviour and a poor example" he claimed. Obviously swearing and cursing like a man possessed is much more appropriate behaviour then!
You get the feeling like Greg was just love to be the main man in Andy's corner (or anywhere else for that matter!)

Actually, neither of these are an issue, it's a high pressure game etc, but you are correct in pointing out the hypocrisy of an ex-player, who actually did both at Wimbledon 2003
Ironically, the 'innocent' player was Andy Roddick of all people (for a history go quickly to the French Open of 2009, search 'Roddick v Monfils', press play, and make sure children aren't watching )

We couldn't make up a summariser like Greg if we tried!!

Thank you that was sweet.

Did he hit balls at Patrick? I'm not sure he would be a good substitute for John if not...
