Houllier
I'm really stuggling to find ways to defend him after yesterday. I've always said I'd stick with what Houllier was doing and could see the sort of thing he wanted to do... but after yesterday he just looked completely clueless!
No idea what the substituions were about... it's almost asif he was watching a different game to everyone else in the stadium! He's making it too easy for people to dislike him. Yesterday was a terrible game, I've never been emarrassed to wear a Villa shirt before, but having to walk out of the stadium past the wolves fans (we were sat near them) was horrible.
I just can't get my head around the idea that we might actually get relegated.
Did anybody else see the game? What did you think?

Re: Houllier
I didnt see the game, but just seen the crowds reaction to the subs on sky sports.
He's difinately walking a tightrope now, and its only a matter of time until the press start getting on this back aswell.
I dont think you will go down this year, just need a couple of good results to lift the team again.

His not to my tastes but im still backing him. Next season (i hope) will be our time. I think his not a likable charactor either tbh, unlike harry or manchini (spelling).
It is worrying and it is embarrasing. I wasnt able to make the game yesterday but can understand fustration as i streamed the game online.
Also I like the FA Cup and going to the home games (its also cheaper lol) and it is a fun competition.
But yeah im getting fed up too in the same breath as backing him, saying that, at the sunderland game I did jump on the bandwagon singing "sacked in the morning", but i was pee'd off!

Re: Houllier
When he first arrived I liked him .I understood his selections (unlike with MON) & liked his style of play & when Bent arrived I was full of hope & joy. However of late he's started to make baffling selections & substitutions. Which allied with the obvious unrest amongst the players seems to indicate to me that he's losing it day by day. I'm begining to fear the worst

Ditto OP and astonbilla. His signings seem mostly great on paper, and I like the style of football he is trying to instill into our game... But it feels as though he has lost the dressing room. If we can make it to the end of the season without getting relegated then I think a pre-season will help Houllier immensely, but I am not sure if he will make it that far.

Re: Houllier
Houllier's more intense way of training his players has hit the Villa boys hard. MON on the other hand liked to take the pressure off the players and give them a rest here and there before games, Houllier's come in with a more disciplined style and I think its because he's changed the training system so quickly that the players have become discontented. From a neutrals view I think Villa peaked under MON with their top 6 finishes and I think that it's natural that they will have a couple of choppy seasons before getting back to their best under Houllier or (if he lasts that long) anyone else.
PS. I'd have stuck with K Mac.
