Re: Bad Boys XV
You'd have to say Attoub. Found guilty on several occasions for multiple eye gouges and received a record one and a half years ban from rugby as result.
As much as he is a Bath legend Danny Grewcock would be at home in this team.

Julian White on the bench, he was a full time rugby player part time boxer and tap dancer (on the shins and backs of others). A real bruiser though he is nothing like the eye gouging Attoub.
Where's Jamie Cudmore? Mr Suspended really should be captain of that list.

Re: Bad Boys XV
I'd have Rougerie in at 13 for gouging. Parisse get's a nomination at 8 for gouging, but Cecillon's got that spot sewn up.
Johan "ear-biter" le Roux is a candidate at prop, as is Richard Low (gouging Greg Cooper, smashing Carozza's nose).
And Robin Brooke would edge Botha - thug on and off-field.

Is this bad as in nasty, or bad as in lying about being beaten up to pretend to not have injured oneself in an embarrassing incident?

Re: Bad Boys XV
ll depends if this is on or off the pitch or a mix of the two. Grewcock was a real thug and a liability on the pitch, but everyone will parrot the old line about him being a gent off.
Justin " Plank" Harrison was a goon on and off. A racist bully who got into a fight with a quins coach whilst on coke. Makes Delon Armitage look like a Bhudist monk.

Tindall has found himself at the end of a couple of unsavoury stories involving drink, cars and midgets.
Who was the Kiwi who walked naked into a bar on Fiji, I think, then proceeded to punch everyone around him? He deserves a mention, along with Norm 'slugger' Hewett and Matthieu 'I fell over' Bastaraud.

Is that for the hand off on Rougerie?
I very much rate Rougerie as a player but he really dropped in my estimation after that law suit and it felt like a significant low point in professional rugby.
It's always tragic when a player gets injured, but I never understood how a player could be blamed for that sort of freakish accident and forced to pay out 40,000. Hand offs are perfectly legitimate and anyone who has played the game knows that when you're running at full pace, trying to fend of another player coming at full pace and at an angle or behind you isn't an exact task.

Re: Bad Boys XV
Craig Gower is the king of the bad boys:
Gower has been involved in a number of alcohol-related off-field incidents.
In 1999, Gower exposed himself to a female Irish tourist in a Coogee bar, blaming his behaviour on alcohol intoxication. He was dumped from the Kangaroos squad and fined $A2,500 by the NRL and a further $A500 in court after pleading guilty to indecent exposure.
Gower was fired as Panthers captain in December 2005, after incidents at a charity golf event where he argued with several guests, groped the teenage daughter of former league player Wayne Pearce, chased Pearce's son with a bottle before vomiting on him, streaked nude around the resort, stole and crashed a golf cart, held a butter knife to the throat of a Sydney radio personality before throwing it at resort guests, and engaged in a brawl with resort security before being ejected from the official function and detained by police. Gower was handed a "final warning" by the National Rugby League and fined $A100,000, with $A90,000 to be paid to an NRL programme encouraging the responsible use of alcohol by league players and $A10,000 to replace the destroyed golf cart. Gower was "deeply unhappy" that the Penrith Panthers club did not defend his reputation, and at one stage threatened to "walk" from the club.
Allegedly inebriated with alcohol in a bar at Kings Cross on 11 February 2007, Gower allegedly tried to kiss one man before biting him on the neck and sparking a brawl, and is accused of assaulting another man.

Re: Bad Boys XV
Surely with two convictions of murder, Cecillion is the ultimate bad boy!?!
Regarding a question posed about a particular player above, I won't use hs name in case someone is sued, but I work in a particular part of the UK close to Mr X's home. I manage people's estates, a small part of which is some common land. A collegue if mine was inspecting the stock on the common, when he chanced upon a group of young men wearing masks and paintball-gunning a lamb that was trying to escape them. My friend told the lads to stop shooting the lamb, and was given a barrage of verbals. A threat to call the RSPCA and police saw the lads slope off, but my mate hid and waited for them, and watched them return and carry on with the exercise!
Cue another, louder approach to the men, and this time, they genuinely mooches off, leaving a techni-colour sheep to find it's ma. All the lads bar one took their masks off as they left, and my friend followed them off. When said masked 'youth' took his face gear off, it was none other than one of the famous rugby-playing muppets mentioned above!

Re: Bad Boys XV
Bakkies botha isn't actually a bad boy he's just a huge enforcer on the pitch who has picked up a rep because of being massive and hard !
"I was given a three-week suspension a few years ago for pushing [Australia flanker] Phil Waugh at a ruck," he explained.
"When it came to the disciplinary hearing, the judge asked me how many times I had been cited in my life. I told the truth - once. He did not believe me, asked me if I had personal problems, if I hit my kids...It was ridiculous.
"People are wrong about me. I do not eat children."
